joined this website about a year ago and out of the blue they deleted my profile and would not explain why. I have done nothing wrong on my end. People rely on this website for their lively hood and to be able to secure a job in a specific career field. This company is a scam they delete peoples profiles for no reason? How can they get away with this? How do we know they are not secretly discriminating against people? Has anyone thought of doing a class action lawsuit?

Haha, it is insane that I will be locked out of my account on 7/23/2020 if I don't pay 14.99 to upgrade my account for "carecheck" and a required background check. I bet the background check will cost $50.00 on top of it. That used to be optional. What a great way to add revenue to your company but not help the people working for your company. You are locking them out of their account if they do not pay you more money.

Bull$#*!.

Bye!

I received information regarding my services. This person/Amy Achee who contacted me is a total scammer and easily recognized through the grammatical errors and storyline! Would not supply me with her "resume" and reference list. I have seen her name listed as a scammer on the Internet. So, I am adding to that conversation. Do not engage with this woman – she is a fake!!

I signed up for one month and they billed me continually for 6 months. They did finally cancel and pay me back two months but I was still out $100 AND the cleaners are mostly a scam. They say they will work for $15 hour and when you call them and say you want them to come in for 3 hours, most of them said it's $90 ($30 hr) many don't reply,,,the whole site is sadly one big fraud. I'm still out the money

In the beginning opening of Care.com it me $35.00'a month to advertise for help with childcare facility. They increased their advertising charges to 75.00 a month. Without notifying me they discontinued my ad. When I realized what happened they told me in order to continue running my ad I'd need to pay 75.00 a month, which I did. However when I tried to cancel they wouldn't allow me to cancel and continued billing me 75.00. I had been advertising with them for about two years.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I was a member in early 2010 when it was better, even got one good position. Then signed up as an RN recently during COVID to try to get some part time work, and have had nothing but trouble. You can't look at anything on the website without CONSTANT pop -ups to upgrade. Applied for many jobs without any responses, which I found odd.. They kept sending pop-ups which said "upgrade now to appear higher in searches". Today 7/9, they locked me out of my account unless I pay for a "background check"….which I DON'T need, because I have an extensive background check that another reputable company (HireRight) did for me in March. And I can't delete my profile because they locked me out. I am furious with this unscrupulous company, who misrepresents their 'service' and costs!!!

Chantrice was the caregiver for my mother in law up until she moved to memory care. Chantrice was beyond loving and caring. My wife and I looked to her for advice and hands on help with my mother in law and we are so grateful. Chantrice knows how to support a person with dementia as well support for a patient's family.

I have reported this company for fraud. They made it look like I was paying for one month but changed me for 18 months. I never used the service. WHen I called to cancel, they clearly do this all the time and will not refund any of my money. I found them on BBB and they have hundreds of poor ratings from customers. So unethical.

If it isn't obvious by the amount of 1 star reviews, please stay away from this site.
I had created a free account over 1 year ago under the profile setting that I was searching for a caregiver. I logged in today wanting to switch and now become a caregiver. I was having a hard time but finally found a way to see families requesting care but could not contact them. I assumed I needed to upgrade my account so I paid over $60.
Turns out care.com has separate accounts for people that want care vs caregivers. They will make you close your account, reopen a new one under a new profile, and will make you pay the upgrade fee all over again!
They have also disabled any comments from unhappy members on their resources tab so people can't be warned. What a scam.

I signed up for one month subscription and posted one job. Then my job got "rejected" without giving a reason. Then they keep charging me monthly fee for the "one month" subscription for over half a year till I realize it. Of course you are not getting your money back, even though I never used the service for ONCE after $300+ was charged. Their membership clause is "deceiving". Stay away and use other reputable sites that's built on a honest business model for your service needs. I am going to try to dispute through my credit card company. Wish me good luck.

This is a complete scam. I signed up looking for a housekeeper. I received an email saying they wouldn't post the job because I had to register as a business looking for an employee. They do not have ANY way to contact them or get a refund. When I searched Google for a phone number I got a woman in India who only wanted information to send me a bogus gift card. STAY AWAY!

I have been charging a subscription fee since 2015 without knowing, no text msg, no email confirmation. They refuse to refund the money. Very cold. Very dishonest. Disgusting behavior. This is a disgrace to the "subscription" business model.

Signed for Premium service on 11/3/17, used the service till 11/25/17 and afterwards getting charged in a regular basis without any notification. All communication goes to gmail account under "Promotion" folder. So far around $640+ being charged silently. Found out from latest credit card bill about the regular charge. Called them and response came back that they would remove the premium service and will revert back last charge. Now, my total loss is around $640 with Care.com for this carefully crafted scheme to get money from customers by the name of one month service agreement. What a shame!

This company is not only flooded with complaints similar to mine, but they also have the arrogance to bill people during these hard times for services never asked/authorized. I have contested these charges to my bank and file a complaint to my Local District Attorney Offices, Consumer Protection Unit, about the matter. This is outrageous. I will leave reviews everywhere. If anyone wants to participate in a YouTube video about their illegal billing practices, I will start a short video soon slurpppe gmail

* Update:

(The no so caring) care.com replied to my posting and, not so surprisingly, lied. In 2018, I complained about their illegal billing practices and I received an email from one of their customer service employees stating, I quote – "I went ahead and refunded your last charge of $60.00 and your credit card will no longer be billed. Please note that the refund may take up to one week to appear on your bank or credit card statement" Yes, you read it right "your credit card will no longer be billed" I never upgraded my what became a "basic account" at this point. Yet, they started to bill my card again in April 2019! These people are deceptively lying and stealing. My local District Attorney Office, Consumer Protection Unit is on it and I will seek legal advice too on top of making a YouTube video. *, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

** New update 05/22/20

My Local District Attorney Office has taken on the matter and is investigating the company. If anyone wants to participate in what could be a class-action suit, email me at slurpppe at gmail

*** New update 06/07/2020
My Local District Attorney Office has started to investigate the case. Now talking with several attorneys about filing a class action against this repulsive company.

I started an account recently, went through the process, got verified, applied for jobs, and then all of a sudden a get an email that my account was closed, with no reason given (just a list of possible reasons, none of which apply to me) and no recourse available. After researching on Consumerist.com, I found a lady who was kicked off while interviewing nannies. Apparently ANYONE can file a complaint and Care does not research, they just kick you off. I hadn't even had an interview yet! Really disgusted at this.

Annoying pop ups strategically placed on web page so you can never finish what you're doing without accidentally hitting one. Clients all complain about how site is not user-friendly, "care team" that responds to issues/ complaints takes 4 days to answer (scripted, robotic, worthless assistance.) Would not recommend.

This site provides no value except a platform. You may as well use Instagram or craigslist. Both parties pay to join, pay for background checks, etc. The only thing care.com does is…. nothing, they advertise on TV. So that's where your fees go.

I applied with experience for the housekeeper position but was targeted for discrimination due to the sound of my name.
It's hard to find a good flexible job but to wrestle with a company policy without meeting them is disgraceful. They refused to hire me and never explained why nevertheless the position is still available on indeed. I'm a God fearing woman that feel when something is not right. My Lord told me they racist. I hope this company turn from their evil ways and help people earn a living no matter what.
The Earth belongs to God and technically his children should live comfortable without problems.
Care.com discriminates against people based on their name and nationality even though we all human beings.
The Holy Bible instructed me to have compassion and use wisdom to help make life better but Care.com was not concerned because of my name causing confusion, the bible warn me and proves that hatred still exist, woe unto this company!

Don't bother to go here. I join the ranks of dissatisfied customers who was not refunded a credit for 4/1-6/30/20 even though I contacted them on 3/30/20. My mother is 94 and can't afford to pay me back for the THREE MONTHS of "membership" not used. Actually, I haven't used the site since January. Now with being laid off because of corona virus, they took the money out of my account and ran. They put a credit in there and took it away the next day. Heartless!
There are other sites you can use instead of this dishonest one. Some examples are: Sitter City, Urban Sitter, Home Instead, Rover, etc. Got to "SitesLike.com" and get alternatives. RIP OFF.

As a caregiver who is always offered Excellent care and has stellar reviews, this site shows to cancel my membership! No explanation, just canceled! I can see now why they are number 10 in caregiver sites!! They can't keep good people!

I am a single mother with twin infants who desperatly needed the help of care.com. They cancelled my account and never refunded my money back. When I called customer service I was hung up on, lied to and denied speaking with any type of authority. They kept claiming they refunded my money but refused to send me an invoice on that return. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS WEBSITE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I've used this company for several years. The desktop website is better than the apps. The apps and the customer service are terrible! I've written and called Customer Service numerous times over the years for different issues and it's an exercise in futility. Unfortunately it is the most well known of all of the care matching websites and there is no choice but to use it.
