Poor Customer Service!
We had a problem with the car rental due to a flight delay. We informed the car rental and they said they will make a note of it. When we arrived, there was no car for us, and then we were forced to pay extra for a worse car that did even feel safe to drive. CarDelMar was quite useless resolving the issue with the car rental at the time and also replied to our complaint that they cannot help and cannot refund the extra money we were forced to pay. So, basically all they are good at is withdrawing money from our credit card but when it comes to the quality of the service, they dont seem to care much.

Cannot agree more with all the one stars ,would give 0 if i could. Cause this is the incompetence and lack of commitment of their staff. 2 months passed and I'm still chasing my money , deducted after returning the car from my cc without any comments from anyone check24, cardelmar or Buchbinder. All 3 of them stand for bad service.if you don't wanna deal with your customers then start doing something else and leave the space for reputable and trustworthy services.

Worst customer service. Made a reservation for 5pm and happened to get to the rental place 1.5 hrs earlier. They couldn鈥檛 give me my rental car even though I wanted to pay for the extra time so they made me wait! Seriously, what is wrong with you, I鈥檓 trying to give you more money for extra time and all you have to do is change the time in the reservation and you can鈥檛 do it even though the car is sitting right there in the parking lot.

I have booked a car in Argentina via Car del Mar. They take the money immediately but can't you guarantee the car. There was a demonstration in the city where we wanted to pick up the car and we were 2 hours late for the pickup. The provider had already rented the car to someone else! It is completely beyond me why I pay up front and the car can just be given away if I am a little delayed.
The customer service could not be any less emphatic or caring. Last time that we used Car del Mar!

If it was possible to give ZERO stars, I would. This has been the most negative experience I have ever had with a car rental broker. Then only reason the fees seem so low is because the enormous amount of hidden fees that arrive at the car rental desk. By this time it is absolutely too late to cancel the reservation as the broker refuses to give you a discount. Brilliant plan at cheating hardworking customers. The customer service is completely unhelpful and says you only have the option of paying the desk fees and getting your rental car or paying for your reservation and not getting your car. I wouldn鈥檛 even recommend recommend this website to my worst enemy and definitely not to any friends or loved ones. Save your vacation and stay away!!!!

Booked a car to be picked up from Brandenburg, Germany. Had booking confirmation etc. On arrival no car was there for me. Car Del Mar nonetheless took my money and refused to refund. These guys are thieves. Any reputable car company will deduct payment after you return car. These crooks take it before you even collect it – and if no car is there they will take it anyway.

Booked a car from car del mar via Check24.de. When I went to pickup car the Budget knew nothing about it. But money was deduced from my credit card non-the-less. Check24.de takes no responsibility and car del mar cannot be contacted. A quality company, like Sixt, who I end up renting car from, does not deduct money till AFTER car is returned. These guys will charge you before you even pick it up. Stay away fro Car Del Mar (and Check24.de)!

Very bad service.
CarDelMar does not show the terms and conditions of the suppliers. They provide a final bill and even if I stated the situation of my arrival to them I needed to pay almost four times more when I got to the car rental.
Much better to use other company.

Unfortuneately I could not choose minus stars! I would highly not recomend renting from this company. I have traveled around the entire world and often with rental autos. This was the absolute worst expierience and it is not in a third world country but in beautiful Sardegna.The staff is totaly unfriendly and if it does not go their way they will just tell you to leave or hang up on you wich I witnessed at least 15 times in the 20 minutes I wasted in their crappy office…I wonder why or who for a customer that the front door is totally smashed in. I am a retired sales professional and have even been a trainer. THESE PEOPLE ARE HIGHLY TRAINED INSURANSE SALE PERSONS NOT RENTAL CARS…my car costed only 90 euros with insurance plus I travel with a travelers visa that covers the entire cost of Any Damage…because I would not pay an additional 250 euros for their insurance they are trained to sale…Like many other customers I was a stranded tourist alone with my 17 month old child tired, hungry, and with out an auto to reach my destination. I thankfully spend quite a bit of time in Sardegna. It is a wonderful place to visit as long as you steer clear of this Gold rental cars Olbia…Cardelmar. Your bargain car will be smaller than agreed and cost you more than a luxury auto by the normal vendors. DO NOT PAY THEIR CRAZY INSURANCE PRICE…LEAVE AND GO RENT IN THE MAIN BUILDING….SPREAD THE WORD!!!

I forgot my driver's license so couldn't rent (Calgary). I called to cancel but was told it was too late, which is fine, since it was on the first day of rental. When I asked them if they would at least reimburse me for half the rental period (4 days total) they declined and charged me for all 4 days, That is greedy business. A normal company charges only the first day for a no-show. I offered paying for 2 days. They took all the money without any consideration of the circumstances. Their approach is if that's what the contract says, who cares about the customer. Just money hungry with no consideration for the human being. Bad business. Next time, I will pay a few more dollars and use a normal company.

The actual car rental company will try to charge you as much as they can for additional insurances, extended rental time or anything like that. I booked with a car with All-inclusive-comprehensive car insurance for 17 days at a total cost 453.18Euro. When I picked up the car at the airport I was told that they won't accept my mastercard debit (same card that I paid with before) for the deposit unless I get an additional comprehensive insurance that cost 618.80Euro. I urgently needed the car and they refused to give it to me unless I'd pay the additional amount plus a 250.00 Euro deposit. So I had to pay 1071.36Euro plus deposit instead of the promised 453.18Euro. I'm not the only one. It's a rip off. Check other reviews very carefully and stay away.

I would never rent from this company again. It took over an hour of administration before I had the keys to the car and about half an hour waiting to hand back the keys at the end of the holiday.
Whilst waiting, I saw lots of unhappy customers complaining about different things. The main complaint is about the hard selling that you have to put up with at the counter whilst they complete the admin. They strongly advise you that you need further insurance and of the dire consequences of not having that extra insurance in various scenarios.
I won't hire from Europcar either as they appear to be associated with CarDelMar.

I reserved a small car through Car Del Mar at Discount at the Toronto Airport. When I arrived they informed me they got the dates wrong and told me they had no cars left, the only vehicle available was a pick-up truck. I declined as I needed a vehicle with 4 seats and a trunk. My request for a refund was denied by Car Del Mar Germany. They said the agent in Toronto offered me a small SUV, which is a lie (I would have taken that). Furthermore, they said I had to accept whatever upgrade they had to offer.
This is the last time I will do business with Car Del Mar or with Discount!

ALL THE POSITIVE REVIEWS MUST BE FAKE / PAID FOR…
I lost $1,500 due to this thief of a company. I had no option but to arrive the day after the booking was made for a 28 day booking due to the villa I rented being broken into.
The rental company gave the car to someone else and charged me for the ENTIRE 28 DAYS. So money, no car = daylight theft.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The measure of a good company is how they deal with problems when they occur. We had a problem (the car hire company supplied us the wrong, and inappropriate, vehicle).
Cardelmar simply weren't interested. Quoted terms and conditions that didn't even address the issues we encountered and showed no interest whatsoever in even discussing it with us.
Don't touch these guys with a barge pole.
