Terrible service do not use this company they will take your money with hidden fees my car was covered in body damages and cigarettes charge did not work which I needed for the sat nav the office is miles away from the airport and they don鈥檛 bother to wait for the customer neither answer their phone also I rented a Audi q2 and they had only an old 500 with over 120000 miles on the clock full of damages
Their credit card machine is set to ask for a pin which my card never had so conveniently instead of paying a secure deposit I was charged extra 25 pounds a day to have it full cover which I never wanted because of the state of the car this sounds like a scam to me staff was also very rude insisting my card had to have a pin and I was wrong

Worst car rental experience yet

Whatever you do, do NOT hire a car from Car2move. Worst customer experience yet. No shuttle unless you call, dodgy little office on a private property, applying over double of extra fees making me feel completely taken advantage of. No ethics, and no trust that they would not try to scam you if you did not pay extra fees.
Rubbish way to feel to start a holiday.
The drop off was not much better, no instructions on where to drop off on booking email or voucher. Called them and they were appalling at directing. Had to go round 3 times and nearly missed flight. Just the most disappointing experience from beginning to end.

Save yourself the hassle, disappointment and lighter wallet, by booking with airport based big name like Avis or Herz.

Competitive price, the reception was good, the office is easy to find, and the car was in good condition. We didn't like the returning process since, although we paid for full coverage, there was no one in the office at the stipulated time and no one checked the car, so we had to drop the keys at the front counter much hoping to get our money back (security deposit) soon.

According to the T&C's the reservation through Wisecars is valid for 1 hour after pickup time (we can only book in 1 hour slots). We turned up half an hour after and they had already classed us as a "no show" with the excuse that we didn't leave a flight number. There is no language with respect to flight numbers in the T&C's. We didn't take a flight that day and were left stranded at the airport. Avoid this company who don't stick to their own rules

Low prices, low services. I've never been disappointed about renting cars on a budget but this was the worst experience I ever had. I got an old car with more than 200,000 km full of bums and scratches. There were several warning lights on the board "I shouldn't worry about, it is known …". Seriously ?! The car biped every 20 minutes to warn about problems with EPS or motor and I shouldn't worry about ?! When I asked to have another car, the staff quickly get unpleasant with me and it was obviously not possible. They also barely spoke English (how is that even possible for that kind of company?) that added more incomprehension and stress. While doing the check up of this old car (in the dark because there was not even a street lamp…), I wanted the employee notes every scratch on his paper and write down the board's lights issues. He refused saying it was not important but I didn't want to take any responsibilities for this old car that should be out of the road since a long time. So, I had to insist and refuse to sign the document for him to note it. And, more over, I got laughs and unfriendly talks in italian about me with his colleagues. How professional. You rent s**t and you make fun of the client… You maybe even put his life in danger! This company shouldn't be allow to rent cars. Avoid it.

Worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company.

A 鈧?00 price for renting a car ended up being 鈧?50.

After I returned the car, I found an additional payment on my credit card for 鈧?50(!) with no further explanation.
I was trying to contact them for weeks afterward with no answer (both by email and calls).

After a few weeks the company reverted to one of my emails and told me they found damage in the car so we need to pay an extra fee.

Needless to say that when I returned the car the Car2Move representative checked the condition of the car we've rented and said that the car was perfectly OK (but didn't provide us any written proof).

In short, a complete scam. Make sure to avoid it!

We received a good service from Car2Move, absolutely standard services as any other "big name" car rental. We got an interesting tiny Smart 4 door with around 6k on the clock, clean and undamaged car with new car feel. We returned it 3 days later without any hassles. The staff was nice and kind.

I really love this agency, is already the third time that I rent a car with them and never had any kind of problem. I Never find a long queue, not when we arrive and not when we go which is perfect, you start your holiday right away and don't need to go to the airport with large advance for leave the car. The cars always new and clean. The staff is really helpfull and professional, and the price are competitive. 10 out of 10 definetely.

This is the first time I hire with Car2Move, everything went great.
LanciaY very nice, new with comfortable interiors and very low consumption, we did not have to consume much gasoline.
I consider this car rental service very satisfactory, no problem, no hidden cost and all very transparent.
Great!

I've been waiting for similar reviews. I knew I wouldn't have to wait long as this company is disgraceful. the company has re-branded itself as Car4Move. It will be the same pattern, over and over again. Alleged damage, money debited after the return home and a refusal to co-operate… my guess is that, as in my case, it's because you didn't buy their insurance. It's a like an echo 'Don't worry you can claim on your insurance', as for the new tactic pleading that it will come out of the employees wage. I've heard it all now. Their fraud is more than likely paying that wage. Now, before Car2Move (sorry, Car4Move) get on the defensive and start their pathetic bleatings or aggression tactics… anyone who has an issue with them, please contact me. Car2Move are a shoddy disgrace, they make a mockery of Sicily. They really dislike it when anyone refers to 'Mafia' techniques. There's a loaded suggestion here… if, Car2Move, you dislike that reference, then stop cheating people and behave honestly. You disgust me.
One last thing, has anyone been told by a representative from Car2Move that they were not responsible for the debit, but by a company called AutoItalia? Check your bank statements. We had that problem, incidentally, AutoItalia do not reply to any contact at all. Ah, the tangled web they weave. I'd love for them to comment.. they seem to have stopped that now.

We rented a car at Catania and returned it at the airport of Palermo. Upon arrival at the airport a representative of 'Car2move' checked the car from all sides and said all ok. I had to ask for a signature. And luckily I did.
The guy signed with no mention of any damage. The day after I received an e-mail saying they will retain 270 euro for scratches on the bottom of the bumper of the car. 2 photo's attached + invoice. I immediately replied that I did not agree, and asked for more info. The company never replied to my mails, instead they only removed the 270 euro of my credit card deposit with no approval.

I have sent an e-mail to my credit card company asking for a refund of this amount because of fraud. 'Car2move' cannot prove that this damage happened in my rental period.
Hypothetically the 2 photo's they've sent could be a close up of another bumper. Or they even could have changed the number plate on another bumper and then take some photo's.

I read a lot of negative feedback about this company, and I made the mistake not checking their reputation before booking a car. Often the same review stories. And if you have the luck to have straight contact with the company after issues, they say you don't have to worry as the insurance will pay back your own risk.

Simply unacceptable and fraud to clients and insurances. These are practices that remind me to obscure companies where the local mafia is implied.

In brief: do not rent with 'Car2Move' ! It's a company runned by the local mafia

It seems like everyone else, I have been charged for damage which I disputed at the time of return. I was kept arguing for one and a half hours and in the end, had to give in or miss my flight home. It seems that I have been charged for the same damage as the person on the review below mine – 508 euros for three tiny dots not noticeable on normal inspection when checking the car. The clerk was crouched down checking behind the back wheel ???? when he 'suddenly' noticed the damage to the back bumper. It was obvious he knew where to look as you would need a microscope to see it when standing up. The damage costs were excessive as per the previous complainant. When challenged, I was told not to worry as my insurance would pay out and if he didn't charge me it would be taken from his wages. I was told my documents would be emailed to me and even though I have sent messages in english and italian, I have not received a response or my documents as yet so cannot claim from my insurance. I believe this to be a scam as, from reading previous reviews, we are being charged for the same damage!!. The rental is cheap but we all appear to be charged around 500 euro on return of the car!!

For a trip in Sicily, I have rented an economy car for 4 days from the office near Catania airport and paid the rental amount, which includes basic insurance too. At the car drop-off date, the clerk has realized that a damage (fender) occured during our rental period 鈥?it could even have been there before I picked up the car on the first day. I was shown a damage price list that summarizes the corresponding prices. The repair price for this damage was 240 EUR as it was shown by the clerk. I was in such hurry at Catania airport not to miss my flight and didn鈥檛 have the chance to talk about the details. On the next day, I have received an e-mail that Car2Move would be charging 500 EUR instead of 240 EUR. The pictures of the damage were also attached to the e-mail – However, I do think that the amount of 500 EUR is extremely high for this very minor damage as it could be seen from the pictures. After then, I have thought that there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication and it was necessary to reach out the rental office to fix the issue in order to credit my account 260 euro. So, I replied back to that corresponding e-mail sharing all the evidences I have at hand (car2move client contract, damage repair price list etc.). Besides, I tried to contact the customer contact center – unfortunately I cannot talk with any responsible. Anytime I called, the relevant clerk was somehow not at the office. Nobody could give me a concrete feedback. Then a few days later, I tried to reach any colleague once again via e-mail. No response at all. It is extremely unprofessional not replying back to customers' inquiries and charging an amount without showing any evidence related with a damage. I tried any option to regain my confidence for Car2Move but nobody contacted back to me. Together as a family, we had a terrible car rental experience. Please be careful if you are tourists and if you don't know the local language.

We rented a car at Catania airport and we're obviously and clearly robbed at the end by Car2Move. Since we had not taken an additional insurance on the car, they charged us euro 454,00 for a small scratch in the front window, We can debate on the question wether the scratch was already there or not when we got the car at the beginning, but no way would the repair cost that much. For that amount of money you could easily get an entire new windshield. The clerk at the desk wasn't any help either and only repeated that we could get it all back from the insurance. But since we only had the basic insurance that wasn't much help. To me it felt like I was in some sort of bad Sicilian Mafia movie. I would advise everyone to stay away from Car2Move and find another decent and respectable car rental.

Aan apology should come from Car2Move, not from me. Apparently they charged me for an entire new windshield wher repair is possible. That's the way to loose customers.

My rental car (Lancia Y) in Catania airport was notet to have a damage (returned before working hours) Had some initial trouble with the company regarding a dent on the back door. Despite complaints from my part I have to apologize to the company, the matter was finally resolved in agreement of both parties. The Email contact was quick and the matter was finally resolved.

The Ocean 8 of Car Hire Companies.
Please don't even contemplate using this company. They may charge less then one of the larger brands; but that's the beauty of it all. You're suckered from the moment you use them. Pay more, you'll still have a profit from your holiday budget by doing that.
They say there's a shuttle to pick you up from the airport. There isn't. You arrive and there's nobody. I had to spend about an hour trying to get in touch with them. Admittedly they did arrive quickly after all that hassle which I really didn't need.
Drop the car off? I had 3 different addresses to chose from. None were correct. Again, difficulty getting in touch with the company to try and come to an agreeable arrangement to drop the car at the airport instead. Their response was that they would sue me. Why? I'm trying to get their car back and not miss my flight. But, they were there at the airport. Didn't bring paperwork with them, wouldn't sign ours. The guy who took the keys, said everything was fine. The woman who had accompanied him had driven off by this time. The car was fine. Even in the panic to get to the airport I'd stopped to fill it up.
6 days later I find my bank account had been debited 1500 euro by Car2Move. I tried to find out why. The woman at Palermo said she didn't know. They had sent an e-mail and I would have to speak to her boss. Her attitude was both disinterested and cocky. I rang Catania, after a few calls they said I had damaged the car!!! Not to worry though, because I had taken out my own insurance I could claim on that. That's really not reassuring at all. They're telling me to make a fraudulent claim on my insurance. Is it because I didn't buy theirs?
Photos that were sent were not proof at all. I was sent a copy of a receipt that didn't include any form of breakdown for the supposed damage. There was no time frame on the photos either.
Cutting a long story short, the company I booked this car crash of a company through have intervened. They stated simply that the debit of 1500 was rather large for the damage they claim I have done. The response from the woman, well, I think what she means to say is that because my partner has given the company a bad review she is very displeased. She says that unless my partner removes her review she will not forward a breakdown for the alleged damages. I can provide a copy of her e-mail. So, she's admitting that she hasn't provided a breakdown. And she won't provide one unless my partner removes a review? That's blackmail.
OK lady, if you like blackmail. Here's a suggestion. You can keep your detailed report of damages because you don't have one. I'd hate for you to fabricate something else. You pay back the money you stole from me and my partner will willingly remove her review, in fact she'll write another saying you're fabulous. If you don't pay it back, well, you may find out that by people seeing this will lose you far more business than the 1500 Euro you took from me. Is it really worth it?
If you want to be a serious business just look at the bad reviews you had in a period of less than one month. It's not good, is it ?
She has stated in her reply that I didn't have insurance! in other words I declined their very expensive insurance, because I had my own! I have chosen not to claim simply because I DID NOT DAMAGE their car, so it would have been fraudulent to make a claim.

I have just read your latest response and it's very funny!! I wouldn't work for a car hire company, I have a skilled job, secondly you passed on my credit card details to your 'partner company' Automotive Ita*** which breeches GDPR regulations and they took the money! either way you have not behaved professionally! We will now be in touch with The guardia di finanza! The photographs you mentioned are not date stamped and have differing backgrounds, you mistakenly think anyone would think they prove anything! it's not the same car on all of the photos! do you think we are as inept as you are!
And you should really make up your minds first of all you said you took the the deposit for 'alleged damage' but now your denying taking anything! really! is this how you do business. UPDATE the bank refunded our money, but these crooks complained and the stupid TSB paid them again without telling us!

We were given the requested vehicle with approximately 4k kilometres from new.
This car looked like it had never been cleaned inside or outside ever.
On the journey to our hotel our satnav stopped working, on investigation it turned out the lighter point wasn't working
When this was reported we were told, tough tell us when you bring the car back at the end of the hire period.
On talking to the agency, Wise Cars, we were told they would get in touch with the car hire company and get back to us, nothing.
Would we recommend Cars2Move or Wise Cars?
Definitely not!!!

Beware, as we had got a good price we were initially given their smallest category car (2 down from the one we paid for).

Having landed late we said we were not happy but we were told "it would be enough for us 2", however we had paid for a bigger car for a reason, otherwise we would have gone for a cheaper option.

On contacting them the next morning, they were rude and it took us 3 days until they agreed to change the car after constant calls, they eventually changed the car and this is the only reason I have not given them a lower score as at least we had no problems when returning the cars.

Another note is that the second car was given with petrol literally on red, although they had a full tank marked on the contract, luckily we spotted this when we inspected the car.

To respond to below, this is not true. The first person who we'd spoken to the first 2-3 times was very rude and just said email us and we will let you know if a car comes in. You should upgrade a customer, not downgrade, what kind of customer service is that?

And we'd used around 3-4 euros worth of petrol as we could not use the car as intended so nothing really to shout about.

The main manager was helpful in the end, but we feel that this is only after we'd complained to the broker after having a vehicle for 3 days. And we did complain when we got there, but are you saying we should have caused a scene? That is not how we behave, we let you know of the problem like gentlemen and you should have rectified the issue straight away and not make us call 5 times and have to email (which no one replied to).

I think you are already aware of whom the contract was taken out as me and my father share the same surname and I was also present.
