Worst customer service!!! Booked my car at 5pm, and happened to get to the rental car place 1.5 hrs. I offered to pay for the extra time so I can leave for my trip earlier. They made me sit and wait because they couldn鈥檛 change the time in the reservation even though the car is sitting right outside in the lot waiting for me to pick it up. Now I have 1.5 hrs to write a lot of bad reviews. What is wrong with you?

We booked a car with them including the premium insurance package. when we picked up the car in Sardinia by their partners, we got told, that this insurance would not be accepted by them and we had to buy a new insurance package on the spot which cost us the same as the rental for the whole week.
also we did not receive the car which we actually had booked but a different one, a smaller one…
After our vacation, we contacted them to get some explanation or a reinbursement but they did not even bother to respond in weeks.
best is, so stay away from them and book somewhere else!!

OMG. Don't do it!!! They let you book cars on their website that the actual car rental company restricts. In our case, we booked a large car for our 19 year old son and were told at the car rental that they would only rent small cars to under 21 years old. We ended up paying double the price and were totally stressed out. To make things worse we were told by the support person on the phone that they would evaluate if they would reimburse our payment at all !!!

Booked car to be picked up in Brandenburg near Berlin. On arrival rental agent had not been informed of my booking and NO car was available – even though I had paperwork, booking numbers, etc. Car Del Mar is refusing to reimburse me. Stay away from these people. They are thieves. Have since learned that reputable car companies will not charge your credit card until AFTER you have RETURNED the car. These guys will take your money before you have even collected the car. And if it's not there, you've lost it! Check out some of the other reviews – you will see what these guys are about! Also, when booking through a third party agent, such as Check24.de, the booking, behind the scenes will be done by Car Del Mar. Beware. This outfit is nothing short of a scam!

Really bad online booking agency. You can call them and ask for advise on one way hire and they tell you that their pricing is including one way hire and all the fees and prices are outlined with a one way fee if you put in a one way car rental into their search panel.
Then you get to the depot and the car rental asks for a one way fee which was in my case (in 2 different countries 70 and 110 EURO) and that is now on top of your quoted price. So despite the fact you call them and you speak to a customer service rep who should advise you correctly the price in the end of the day is wrong! So you get nasty surprises at the counter.
On my first car rental that I had with them I then called them while I was at the despot and the customer service rep said: "Oh just pay the one way fee" and then we may reimburse you for it" …
But I had spoken to a customer service rep that confirmed prices are WITH one way fee if you entered a one way rental on our site.
Never ever again if you want to book a one way rental. Go with others!

We had a problem in that my son in law, who was first named driver, had lost his wallet on the day and could not produce his licence. The supplier did agree to hire the same car to my daughter, who had hers, but took payment again. They said they would cancel the CDM booking without charge, and CDM would refund that payment. It took CDM five weeks to get this information, and at one point they became quite hard about it and said they would keep the money, according to their T&Cs. Eventually they DID actually refund the money. The delay may not have been entirely CDM's fault. But there is a difficulty when you are dealing with a car hire company AND an intermediary.

Disgusting service, no support.

We rented online at 9pm to 10 pm pick up at Milan Linate airport.
the car was not available due to overbooking!
NO alternatives were proposed by car del mar, either the local car rent (Sicily by car).

Se dovete prenotare in emergenza, non utilizzate il servizio perch茅 non avrete assistenza in caso di eventuali overbooking.
Noleggio auto effettuato dopo le 20, servizio di assistenza inesistente fino al mattino successivo.
OVERBOOKING NON RIMBORSATO DA CAR DEL MAR, TANTOMENO ALTERNATIVE PROPOSTE DA SICILY BY CAR (OPERATORE DEL NOLEGGIO).

Ik had een auto gehuurd via de site van Car Del Mar bij Greenmotion.
Het begon al bij aankomst op vluchthaven Alghero,

Omdat het regende had de medewerker geen zin om met ons mee te lopen naar de auto,
Dus moest ik zelf maar 500 M door de stromende regen lopen met een papiertje waar wat kruisjes op stonden waar de schade (wat krasjes) op de auto zich bevonden om dit zelf te controleren,
Als het niet in orde zou zijn moest ik maar even terug lopen en me weer melden aan de balie.

De tank van de auto was leeg en van binnen was de auto zeer vuil met zand en bladeren.

Enkele dagen later blijkt dat de airco niet werkt 35 gr buiten en er komt alleen maar hete lucht uit en auto.
Tevens geeft de auto melding dat airbag systeem niet meer werkt.

Gemaild en gebeld met greenmotion, Die geven aan dat ik de auto kan ruilen,
Aangegeven dat ik 250 Km van Luchthaven Alghero vandaan ben en dat er ook volgens hun website een vestiging 20 KM van mij vandaan is of ik hem daar kan omruilen.
Dit was niet mogelijk ik moest maar voor eigen kosten 500 KM (250KM heen 250KM terug) rijiden om de auto om te ruilen want de vestiging bij mij zou gesloten zijn in hoog sizoen ?.
De anders oplossibg was de auto op eigen kosten laten repareren bij een lokale garage (DIT NOEM IK GEEN SERVICE) .

Vervolgens CarDelMar gemaild of die nog ietst konden doen, En die geven wel heen heel kort antwoord :

Bedankt voor uw e-mail. Greenmotion heeft u een oplossing gegeven en dat is het enige wat men voor u kan doen.

De rest van de tijd dus maar met alle ramen open gereden en auto ingeleverd zoals ik hem ontvangen had met lege tank),
Nooit meer CarDelMar en Greenmotion

I had rented a car through the site from Car Del Mar at Green Motion.

Because of the rain the employee did not wanted to walk with us to the car,
So I had to walk 500 M through the pouring rain with a piece of paper with some crosses where damage (some scratches) on the car were located to check this myself , and if it would not be okay, I just had to walk back and report back to the counter.

The tank of the car was empty and the inside oft he car was very dirty with sand and leaves.

A few days later the air conditioning was not working any more , 35 gr outside, and only hot air out of the fans and car gives notification that airbag system was not working any more.

Emailed and phoned greenmotion they say :i can trade the car for one with working airco ,I indicated that I am away 250 Km from Alghero Airport.
According to their website there is a establishment
of Greenmotion 20 KM away from me can I exchange it there.
This was not possible, I had to drive on own cost 500KM (around 250KM back and forth) becourse the establishment
of Greenmotion near me would be closed in high sizoen?.
Or otherwise i can go to a local Garage to repair the car at own expense (THIS IS NO SERVICE).
Then i emailed CarDelMar and givingme a very short answer:

Thank you for your e-mail. Green Motion has given you a solution and that is the only thing one can do for you.

So the rest of the time i had to drive with all Windows open and returned the car as I had provided him with empty tank)
No more CarDelMar and Green Motion

I made my booking with Car Del Mar and they arranged my hire with GoldCar – I put in the estimated time of arrival and the flight number.
I printed out my voucher and was happy that when I arrived with my family that we would get our car and enjoy our holiday.
Unfortunately our flight was delayed and didn't get into the Airport till after 11.0pm at night – There was instructions on the voucher to head to the back of the Cafe in the arrivals – We did this and found no Shuttle buses to Goldcar's depot.
We then found out that Goldcar closed at 11.0pm – So why did CarDelMar (knowing what time our flight was due) rent us a car with GoldCar.
We also found out that we should of been in a different terminal !!

As it was late and we were all frought we decided to go to the Hotel and collect the car in the morning. We arrived at the GoldCar depot to only find out that we had no car!!
CarDelMar had cancelled the booking as we didn't collect the car within 2 hours of our previous flight time!!
I phoned CDM and the rep said I would get a refund when I got back to the UK – I filled out the ticket and then have been told I wouldn't get a refund!!

So, why did CDM book me a car with a company that closes at 11.0 when they knew my original time arrival would be close to that of the GoldCar's closing time –

Be warned DON'T BOOK WITH CARDELMAR – YOU JUST LOOSE MONEY and HAVE A STRESSED OUT START TO YOUR HOLIDAY

We paid to have a car the equivalent of a Hyundai i20 which has seating for 5 people as per Car del Mar's website. Instead we got a Fiat Panda (seating for 4) complete with a dropping off number plate which we had to make a temporary fix to ourselves. We had to put our 2nd case on the back seat which could have been an issue if there had been back seat passengers. We complained to the car hire agent at Heraklion airport who said that an i20 equivalent was not available but would phone us when one was available and arrange for it to be delivered to our accommodation – this never happened. Emails were sent to Car del Mar but were never responded to. Tried again when we got home but they still have not had the decency to reply. How can a car that has been booked weeks in advance not be available when you come to pick it up? It is not right for a company to accept money for one thing and then provide a lesser thing pocketing the extra money.

I booked a car from car Del-mar website.

While booking a car their terms and conditions stated that in order to hire a car, driver must hold a driving license atleast a year which I was eligible.
So I booked a car assuming I was in legal terms.

After certain days, It was time for me to pick a booked car at company called Greenmotion rental at heathrow.
As I was their in their office and showed paperworks they said I couldn't book a car because I didn't fit a terms and condtion, as I came to know that their website (greenmotion) stated in order for the driver to be eligible they must hold a driving license for atleast 2 years. I was surprised and disappointed and told them that I have read full terms and conditions from the website that I booked (which was ofcourse car Del-mar).

So, the greenmotion rental company didn't want to take responsibility and pointed finger at booking company (car del-mar) as their fault.

So, I had to returned home without a car and dissapointment, as I was wasting time&money for nothing.

I immediately called car del-mar for the refund. But their customer service staff adviced me to write/email to their company instead (which was funny).
I followed him and mentioned my issues and asked for the refund. But it have been a few days the email is not responding.

I feel like I've been robbed by car Del-mar for the incorrect information and lack of response.

Sent 3 emails to cancel booking as per details held on their website. No reply. Eventually had to call for cancellation while overseas. Poor customer service, Will never use again as this company cannot be trusted to reply to their customers.

We opted for the additional premium to cover accidental car damage but when we arrived at the car hire company we were told that it was not valid and had to pay another premium for their additional damage cover. Car Del-mar seem to be a fraudulent company that makes money out of fee paying customers yet do not provide the goods. The customer service is also absolutely awful as we are still awaiting a reply following our enquiry made to them 3 weeks ago! I have put this review on to warn others – stay away from this company if you can.

Never to hire a car from Car Del Mar and their representatives Goldcar Europa in Greece. They are absolute cons as they charge a "small administrative cost" for checking that one has returned the fuel tank full as when they picked the car up. The small charge in my case was "around 鈧?6" as I was told once I was transferred to their office which is not at the airport. This small administrative charge which is extremely hard to find when you book the car is more than 20% of the value of the carhire!
In addition since the office is not at the airport you have to rely on a rather unreliable shuttle bus for the transfer to their Koropi office, or pay another 鈧?1 to get to the airport when you return the car.
Best to know what you are paying beforehand as this is the most dishonest example of hidden costs. Another client was fuming too but after hours of traveling we just accept the blackmail and leave with the car as the office is also pretty isolated.

We had requested a 7 seater Mini-Van with Car Del Mar over 2 weeks before our trip to Sweden. They were one of the few companies offering this size of car for our dates, and the price seemed reasonable. Their email assured us that there was a slight possibility that the car requested might not be available, but if so, they would contact us directly with an alternative. This seemed satisfactory to us. Today, three days before our booked date, we received a short email saying "Unfortunately we have to inform you that the car category you requested or any other component of your reservation has been denied". So, no alternative? Finding it difficult to believe that in the whole of Sweden, over a period of almost two weeks, there wasn't one single Mini-Van to be had,
I rang the company (UK number, linked through to Germany, I think). The customer rep, whilst polite, was completely unable to come up with any meaningful suggestions, saying things like "Oh, it's very close to your booking date, I don't think I can do anything for you".
I could have suggested that he book two cars for our party of seven, but frankly, I have no faith in this company at all. I have now booked two cars at more expense with one of the big car rental companies. I would strongly advise all to avoid Car Del Mar like the plague.

CAR DEL MAR- STEEL YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT PROTECT YOU AS A CUSTOMER WHEN THE RENTAL CAR BREAKS DOWN

BEWARE THEY STEEL YOUR MONEY AFTER RENTAL CAR BROKE DOWN AND WAS NOT REPLACED.

The Rental Car broke down, 45 minutes into a car rental booked through car del mar, with Hertz in Geneva airport.

Total engine failure on a busy motorway. A very scary situation.

Hertz agreed to cancel the rental after we were rescued and to refund the local charges.
Car Del Mar were initially very helpful (thank you Anne). They promised if I did not take a replacement car (which was to take several hours to go back and get) they would give me a FULL REFUND. This was restated many times before I made the decision to go without a car for the rental period.

I then had to pay for my own transfer and taxis when on holiday.

Hertz confirmed the refund of my charges and said the broker would now have to refund the original booking fees.

Carl Del Mar have since reneged on providing the refund they promised and will not return my original rental fees, despite having to pay for taxis and transfer because I was left without a car. Anne in reservations herself told me she couldn't believe that Car Del Mar were not going tor refund the charges.

YVONNE AND SILKE IN CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED A COMPLETE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. Always apparently in a meeting, or out of the office when you call and then hiding behind emails that tell you they are not going to refund the money, despite making the promise to.

I would seriously recommend you avoid using Car Del Mar. They clearly have no leverage with the rental companies to protect their customers. They are in this business to take your money and any issues are your problem, not theirs. They took no responsibility at all.

We were totally misled by this company, they NEVER answer the phone, no customer service and completely misleading advertisement. Beware of the nice prices, even though is stated that you DONT need insurance, when you pick up the car is REQUIRED since it does NOT cover the minimum required so it ended up costing us more than the original quoted price (and we could not cancel now)

They are brokers and scammers. BEWARE
