I have 4 different credit cards for re-building credit, with that being said this is by far the worst one out of all of them, every last one of them has given me a credit line increase without asking except for this one, so when i asked they said because i was only making the minimum payments. Seriously what kind of bank would honestly say such a thing they are making money that way, however they should really be glad they are getting paid at all at this point, i have never missed a payment and always on time!

Capital One decided to cancel my credit card immediately and without warning. When I called customer service to ask what happened, they said that they had to cancel my credit card simply because I was, "paying it in full on time every month, and this is not helpful". So basically, being financially responsible and being dependable with timely payments isn't allowing them to charge exorbitant interest rates of 24.99%, and in my case, it is hurting their bottom line. When I asked what I could do to fix the situation, their advise was for me to take my business elsewhere. As soon as my final payment clears, I will be going to a different bank for a credit card.

I can't express my frustration with this company, this is the worst banking I ever had to deal with, and trust me I had multiple banking experiences before. I had to file a dispute for the same transactions multiple times with no resolution. I provided clear evidence that the transaction was to be refunded and they still closed the case without solving the problem. It took me 10 months until a part of the money got refunded, still fitting for my money.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. If you want a bank that cares for you as a customer and helps you with your money, trust me this is not the company. They will not make an extra step to solve the problem, and when it's about money, there is always a problem.

I will never open up a Capital One Credit Card again. I called the customer service number to help with an interest charge on my statement and the representative refused to reverse the charge. I have been a Capital One customer for over three years and you best believe I will never use them for any service again. We are in the middle of a global pandemic where most companies are graciously offering to help customers in anyway possible. I am completely shocked at the way I was mistreated on the phone. The representative also said your feedback will not be heard. I hope someone from Capital one reviews this feedback. This should be unacceptable during a time like this.

I called Capital One on Fri 9/18/20 to redeem my matured CD. Since my branch is closed due to Covid and the next closest branch is 1hr15min away I asked if they could send it electronically to my bank. They said no we have to mail you the check. It's about $90,000 so I asked if they could send it certified and they said they would. It is now almost 5 weeks later and there is no sign of the check. I have called 6 times and every time I've had to wait a grueling 45 min-1 hour with a horrendous music loop that is like water torture. I don't say this to be dramatic I am serious. It is bad, really bad. Each time I call I have to explain the whole scenario and they invariably send me to a supervisor only for me to explain the whole thing again. On one occasion I spoke to a supervisor named Randy and on another occasion I spoke to a supervisor named Crae. Today I talked on the phone with an associate and she elevated it to Brian, then he elevated it to Mary and then she elevated it to Kevin. Each time in between I had to explain it again and then hold with the horrid music. They said they had stopped payment on the check and they would mail (they said they can't email it) out a lost check claim form for me to fill out and then review it. I've been waiting on this form for over two weeks and no sign of that either. Why am I having to wait for a form that I am required to fill out and have notarized and and then send back for them to review and then start a long process of waiting all over when I wasn't the one who lost the check. They sent it out without any kind of tracking or signature required by the recipient. They're sending out massively large checks by first class mail with no idea if the checks will ever get there or any way to trace it. The supervisor Crae admitted that they are supposed to FedEx all checks over $50,000. I keep waiting and hoping someone will acknowledge how outlandish this is and cut the red tape and get me my money. By holding on to my money they are defrauding me out of $4 interest a day which is what my CD was making and thus far I have lost well over $100 in interest waiting plus an opportunity to deposit the money in Chase and get a $300 bonus on an offer that has ended. I am at my wits end. I desperately need this money, MY MONEY, to live on. I am a senior and it is most of my life savings. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME RESOLVE THIS HEARTWRENCHING PAINFUL SITUATION.

The executive offices have to be the worst hands down with customer service. They will respond to a complaint but not give their information so you can't reply. They refuse to admit when they mess up! They stated in a letter "In your submission, you stated that you reached out to Capital One numerous times without resolution. In your review if our call records, we were unable to find any calls as you stated in BBB" I replied asking how that is possible and happens since I spoke to Whitney at 1-800-955-1455 extension 291-7035 and dates and times and voicemail left like 9/25/19 at 12:26pm and left a voicemail again 10/20/2019 at 4:15pm. So it wasn't logged? Why not? And they replied with this vague response saying they already replied to this and agree with their reply none the less. Didn't address my questions or answe how it was possible it wasn't logged and never admitted they were wrong or apologized. Incompetent customer service especially higher up!

They issue me a credit card and then put 5 day holds on my payments which effectively renders the card useless half the time because I can't charge anything even though I have a zero balance! And I can't get anyone on the phone to fix the situation. I'm going to switch to a new financial institution in the very near future that's run more professionally.

Canceled this credit card due to late charges they would not refund. I make my payments online per their due dates and their payments are posted as late. No other company has been an issue and I always pay the full balance on all accounts each month.

If I could give them a 0 I would. I have been with Capital One since 2012. Never missed a payment. Have over half of my credit available and due to covid am not working now (but still making my payment and extra payments). I called to have my interest rate lowered because it is extremely high and many credit card companies (including Capital one are offering me a rate at 10-15% LESS than what I have now. So they offered to lower my rate 1%. When I asked to speak with a supervisor they suddenly could lower it 4% which I was okay with however it was only for 7 months and I wanted it lowered permanently. When I spoke with a supervisor (Maggie) she advised that no they would not lower it permanently even though they themselves offered me a lower rate. I advised that what that said to me was they do not value their loyal customers and if they could not change it forever I would have to switch to another card to which Maggie said in not so many words, I should do whatever I had to do but they would not lower my rate. POOR customer service, POOR business model and DO NOT do business with Capital one if you want to be valued as a card holder. I'll take my 7 months and balance transfer to a better rate.

I have a been a customer for over 10 years, so I think I can really evaluate them in terms of their growth. Years ago, they had terrible customer service, but I've seen a lot of progress since then. Maybe it was all of the bad reviews and complaints? Whatever the reason, they've become quite responsive. Their website works and is user friendly. Plus, they have a Credit Wise feature which allows you to check your FICO and credit report for free! I think their charge dispute process still needs improvement, but overall, I'm satisfied.

I had been with Capital One 360 for years, ever since it was ING Banking, and I used it for so long because it was a convenient option for saving money. I always thought that the service was convenient, until last year when I had to jump through several hoops in order to open up a credit card with them. Capital One 360 made me verify my identity online because I couldn鈥檛 verify it via phone line on account of the fact that I live in China and have been living here for almost seven years. I told the employee this and there seemed to be no problem with where I lived, but the verification process took days to process and ended up being declined because I needed more documentation that I could鈥檝e originally provided had they told me.

Then I transferred money from my Chinese bank account to my Capital One account and then transferred that money to a friend鈥檚 account, which I connected to my account. After I transferred the money, my account was frozen and I had to call the company in order to unfreeze it. This was an arduous task in which I I got disconnected twice and had to call the company again, only to redo the verification process that I had completed earlier. After nearly two hours, they finally told me what the problem was.

At first they asked me about the money transfer. They said that I couldn鈥檛 connect an account if the other account wasn鈥檛 under my name, to which I told them that I couldn鈥檛 wire transfer the money on account of the convoluted interface on the webpage, so I linked the two accounts, seeing that I trust my friend. This didn鈥檛 seem to be the main problem though, as I was told afterwards that Capital One 360 is purely a domestic bank. When I told them I never had a problem transferring money from my overseas bank account, they said that it was against company policy. I even told them that I called the company before and notified them that I live in China, but the only response I received from Travis in Security, the third gentleman I spoke to, was 鈥渉ow long do you plan on living in China?鈥?What he meant was, if I don鈥檛 live in America, the bank is off limits for me. Without providing me with any other option, I had to close out both of my Capital One 360 accounts.

Capital One 360 puts on this facade of convenient banking, but the customer service representatives are incompetent, rigid, and expect the customers to arbitrarily jump through hoops because 鈥渋t鈥檚 company policy鈥? If it wasn鈥檛 a problem that I lived overseas for many years while using Capital One 360, then why is it a problem now? It could be the political climate between China and America, but how is that relevant to my business with them, especially considering the fact that I鈥檝e been with the company for many years.

Omg America! During the nationwide pandemic when many Americans are out of work Capital One is still charging customers a 35$ late fee stating they can only discard one late fee for one month yet the pandemic suffices one month! Oh yeah your definitely there for your customers to kick em when their down!!!
