Worst holiday in our lives. We have been to this campsite approx 8 times but experienced a big let down in 2019. We were booked in for three weeks (June 2019) but left after one week because things were so bad. We booked with the campsite directly and despite many emails between us before we arrived, they did not tell us that NONE of the normal campsite facilities were open which were historically open in June: no shop, no bar, no restaurant, no happy hour, the toilet blocks were blocked off, there was no public lighting at night to enable you to leave your chalet at night and walk. Additionally they did not tell us in advance that there was construction noise all day from builders on the campsite – not the nice sounds of nature that one would expect from a rural campsite when one wants to enjoy peace and quiet. To add to matters the WIFI was damaged by the builders – WIFI was important for us because, in the absence of a bar or restaurant on site we at least hoped to watch something on netflix at night (not possible when WIFI damaged). The campsite was like a ghost town and only a handful of people (maybe 6-7 groups/couples) were there when we were there, mainly retirees, no English or Irish families and my son had zero children to play with. In the end we decided to leave because there was no attractions to entice us to remain. There was no campsite security in place, the campground barriers were open day and night time, and I found it very scarey to hear a car drive around in the campsite in the middle of the night (4.10am) because I was alone in our chalet with a child and I felt very vulnerable because there was no other holiday makers in our vacinity if I needed assistance. I didn't sleep at all for the rest of that night.

Interestingly in previous years each chalet was provided as standard equipment with two loungers and also a barbeque gratis – with CAPFUN this year all loungers were removed and BBQs are only available to rent at 3eu per day (instead we bought a BBQ for 16eu in a local supermarket).
In my opinion the site should not have been open for bookings because it did not provide the services it advertized to customers, or at a very minimum it should have advised people who had booked in advance of the status of the site BEFORE they arrived so that other campsites could be considered. We were absolutely disappointed in this holiday since we had travelled nearly 2 full days to reach La Palombiere from Ireland and we had been so excited for our holiday but instead we left early just totally disillusioned. The campsite reception arranged a refund for our early cancellation given the circumstances of the lack of facilities.

We are happy with CapFun so we have just booked again this summer via Capfun

5 star campsite near La Roche-sur-Yon and Les Sables d'Olonne.
The Atlantic coast is always a great beach holiday destination for a family holiday in France. We went on a camping holiday in the Vend茅e area, in the Loire Valley, booked with Franceloc. The campsite had a heated pool, it looked like a water park really it even had a pirate boat inside a swimming pool!
The kids had an amazing time, the mobil home where we stayed was clean and the campsite had all the facilities you need for a camping holidays with young children.
I would recommend the campsite to anyone looking for a fun camping holiday in the Loire valley, in a campsite with a swimming pool and also entertainment and activities for young children.
