With a large network of canals built up in the 18th and 19th centuries, few people in the UK live far from a British Waterway. Canals and navigable rivers make their way through our largest cities.
These are wonderful leisure resources and the British Waterways Board (http://www.waterscape.com ) exists both to supervise and manage our waterways, but also to help British citizens and visitors to get the most from our fantastic waterways all year around.
