My washing machine failed on a Sunday. I researched new products on Sunday and called around to local appliance outlets on Monday in hopes of finding one of several recommended brands in stock. I was looking for a washer/dryer set and had no luck locally. I went online to several big box stores but their delivery dates were a month or more away. I had purchased from Canadian Appliance Source in the past and had been pleased with the service and the appliances. I contacted their online outlet and was provided with discounted pricing on the units that I wanted and they were delivered that Friday. The delivery staff were excellent and complied with Covid-19 protocols without being asked. They took away the old appliances and hooked up the new ones. I couldn't be more pleased.

The purchase of our dishwasher & dealing with our salesman was fine, but the follow up for disconnect of old machine & connect for our new machine was disgraceful. The company recommended to us by Canadian Appliance Source were useless. We spent 3 weeks (Oct.1-22) trying to contact them. I tried voicemail, e-mail, live chat, phone, through our salesman, all several times with no response. The day before delivery, we called a plumber. I worked in customer service for 41 years, & I never saw such bad service. You reminded me, I need to post a review somewhere warning others about their terrible service.

The purchasing experience was good and the salesperson helped us immensely, while asking for the order at least half a dozen times somehow without applying pressure.
The after sale and delivery is where things started to go off the rails. While the delivery was technically on time they arrived with five minutes left in the time slot of 1-5PM. The delivery was rough and the mannerisms of the driver and help were particularly off putting. In particular the driver was exceptionally gruff and made it clear he was not in a good mood. Our appliances were handled roughly (in our opinion) as they had to remove the doors to our fridge to get into the house. The taking apart and assembly gave us significant grief observing the process. At the end of the delivery process one of the doors was damaged and now we await a replacement door.
We had arranged for the delivery personnel to remove our existing appliances and place them in the garage. Unfortunately this did not appear on the work order and they outright refused to offer any help. We were left with four appliances in our kitchen for over a week until we could find help to move them.
We would not recommend this 3rd party delivery service to any company as it has tarnished us altogether. If we purchase any large items in the future we will be sure to ask exactly which company is executing the delivery and if it is found to be the same as Canadian Appliance is using we will seriously consider our purchase somewhere else.
The after sales service from our salesperson was less than desirable. We reached out several times looking for help and how the process of replacement door would work to no avail. Our emails were not returned nor a phone call from the representative. Unfortunately this type of follow up is places sales personnel in a less than trusting viewpoint. As well as contributing stereotypical categorization of sales personnel.
We are worried about the service level going forward should we require a service call.
Thankfully we like the appliances we purchased which is a big reason why the two rating.

Absolutely the most terrible experience I've ever had since aug. The first range was damaged and missing parts took a month to get another one and it was damaged and missing parts and the microwave was noisy so it took another month for ge to get a repair company to look into it and to my dismay it wasn't the range I thought I was getting the salesman said it was a steam clean oven but after all that its not so I said I wanted a full refund or give me the right range I thought I bought but you said its been a month so no after it was not my fault you guys took too long getting back to me so I'm stuck with an oven I didn't want and a noisy microwave I will be calling ctv consumer report and every other media to let the people know how terrible my experience was this was your company's mistake and I'm being punished for it

CAS rep was helpful in selecting right dishwasher in a confusing array of products and getting me a good price. Delivery was fast and efficient including the take-away of my old dishwasher. Recommended service contractor had poor service and an overly complicated set of requirements. I just installed it myself which was easier than dealing with them.

The washer and dryer we ordered was not in stock and took longer then forecast to get delivered. Then the dryer that was delivered did not work. I had paid to have the machines installed as they were stacked and I am a senior.
CAS said the dryer was the responsibility of the manufacturer and we had a lot of trouble connecting with Maytag Eventually we were informed a new machine was necessary and we had to disconnect/uninstall it and have it ready for pickup and they (the manufacturer) would not install it.
So we were had to pay twice for installation. Our claim for a refund on the install fee from CAS was never responded to.
In the end we ordered the appliances at the beginning of July and it was the end of October before we had an operational dryer. We had to use a laundry mat for 4 months.

I was frustrated with the way sales are done. I was promised several different appliances only then to be told certain ones were not longer available. The fridge I was promised, was changed three times, each time the quality went down with little effect to the total package price. The dishwasher was the same. As I told the sales person, 鈥渋f it seems too good to be true, it鈥檚 likely not true!鈥?That sums up my experience. I would not recommend this company to friends.

Another retailer let me down, and wasn鈥檛 going to get my appliances to me until 2 months after they鈥檇 initially indicated (a total of four months after my purchase!)
Canadian Appliance Source was great to deal with via text and phone and got me my appliances in about a week and half! Brilliant.

If your new appliance arrives on time, undamaged and free-of-faults then buying from CAS could be for you. The staff are friendly and helpful (at least pre-sales).
However, when things go wrong they go badly wrong鈥?there is no customer service, there is no customer care, there is no after-sales service鈥?just radio silence. CAS are box shifters and concerned only with making the sale. If you are unlucky enough to have problems you are left to deal directly with the manufacturer.
Our new range arrived damaged and faulty, we reported the problems within 48 hours and were advised to fill out a return/exchange form – but CAS refused to exchange the appliance and refused to refund our money, they characterized our complaint as 鈥渇unctionality issues鈥? They say they initiated a service call with GE and would assign a resolution manager but after 3 weeks of waiting and chasing I finally went into the CAS showroom and insisted they do something about it. GE did eventually replace the range but that was a month after the first delivery and a month of not being able to use our new range.
Consumers have advised the BBB that CAS failed to adequately disclose their return and cancellation policy before purchase, and that this policy can apply to damaged and incompatible merchandise. So here is what you need to know鈥?br />
CAS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO LIMIT OR REFUSE TO ACCEPT THE RETURN OF MERCHANDISE AT ANY TIME AND FOR ANY REASON
Just let that sink in for a moment鈥?would you buy from a business that imposes those sort of terms?
We all know things can go wrong from time to time and the measure of a good business is how they perform in these circumstances. CAS are not a good company and there is an established pattern of complaints that you can view for yourself with the BBB.
Take some free advice (insurance) and buy elsewhere.

Certain appliances, such as upright freezers are backordered and have 6-8 week waits. I appreciate that CAS did not try to price gouge or otherwise and in fact offered a highly competitive price. Great communication throughout the entire process as there was a ~4 week wait for the freezer to arrive.

Our dishwasher broke and needed a new one quickly, CAS was the only store in town that we contacted that was able to get a delivery date of a couple days time. Our sales rep we dealt with, Som, was very knowledgeable and was able to help us get the item we wanted at the price we wanted. He was polite and respectful, the entire process was great and would recommend this store to anyone looking to buy any type of appliance. Thank you.

I ordered the freezer one day and it arrived at the store the next day which was great, paid for it and then picked it up. Great service and at an excellent price.
