Upon downloading the CamStudio software, AVG detected malware in it.

As others pointed it, too many adware are packed in the installer and some of them were installed even if I declined the "offers".

When you download this website, it tries to make changes to your pc. I didn't allow any of them, which will probably always be a good idea. After the setup wizard didn't actually download camstudio, I deleted everything to do with it in my files.

So being curious as to WHY this website has a green rating, as well as an almost 90 something positive feeback, yet people claiming it had viruses, I used virus total to scan the download link. It scans with many different virus softwares and came back with one malware alert. I wouldnt advise downloading it.

Download link is safe, but make sure to decline all offer when installing. Better than those watermarking Bandicam, though.

The first link on the page is a virus down-loader. DO NOT CLICK IT. This page may contain a legitimate download, but there are multiple scam downloads so be careful.

This service is completely free though!

Downloading software installs browser hijacker Dregol — even if you don't want it.

The site redirects you to other websites containing malware. Check virustotal.com. Both the files and sites get picked up as containing malware/viruses.

Have used Camstudio before, but the last time I tried to install the software it hit me with a trojan horse and some other stuff. Not sure how trustworthy it is at the current moment.

This website is distributing malware.

When I opened the zip file after downloading their the program, AVG detected malware. Dozens of reviewers across the internet testify to unavoidable, troublesome malware in this program. Needless to say, I heeded their advice.

I got adware after downloading cam studio. Gave me 4 or 5 (I do not remember) different unwanted programs which I either did not need, or I had better quality software which could achieve better things. Good site, but beware of the adware.

This program is too suspicious. I hit record and my screen kept flashing black and white! I had to hold the power button down for it to shut off! Try fraps instead.

Avira Antivirus detected "ADWARE/InstallCore.Gen7". It's not unmoral to pack adware to the software, but it's unmoral to do that without a hint on the download page.

This does have some ad ware with it (as a matter of fact, Mal-ware Bytes detected that the installation pack ITSELF was a virus). Make sure you uncheck all of the "Special Offers" that come with it.

Otherwise, it is a very good screen recorder. SO much better than FRAPS

Useful programs, just have to be careful during the install process of their programs, else you can end up with a bunch of extra junk installed.

To their credit, the company warns the user, sadly it is using ultra small type buried across several screens.

This is safe, virus free free-ware. great for people who record videos.

The best free recording software i have seen till now, try the beta the 1.5 is LAME doesn't quite record as many fps
