AVOID AVOID AVOID this company. I rented my motorhome through them, first renter they found me destroyed my motorhome. For this reason I decided to sell, lost money on sale due to some damage being irreparable. Only had one other renter for mid 2021 who had paid for their 3 day holiday in full, not to me though, Camptoo kept the money only paying out once rental goes ahead. Anyway I notified Camptoo I had sold my motorhome, I was informed I needed to pay 拢100!
No real good explanation only that it鈥檚 due to their costs. I payed this just to be able to have my details taken off their website. A few days later I was then told I owed them 拢167 blaming the rental for 2021 and them finding another van! If I refused I would be threatened with a debt collection agency. Now after breast cancer 4 years ago and the most horrendous stress of that, the thought of debt collection agencies chasing me scared me. Honestly this company to be avoided at all costs they are nothing short of a bunch of crooks who I hope one day will get their comeuppance.

I rented my motorhome out with Camptoo, they are a very difficult company to deal with.
Unfortunately the first renter I had absolutely destroyed my motorhome, outside and inside, a family of 4, some of the damage cannot be repaired! Ok so this is not Camptoo鈥檚 fault, however trying to find out what to do when the motorhome came back in this state was an absolute nightmare, camptoo don鈥檛 work weekends, even through the summer! Answerphone! Not helpful when the issue needs sorting and I desperately need to ask for help when my motorhome has so much damage. For this reason I decided to stop renting out, I then decided to sell my motorhome as it wasn鈥檛 having the use and I could no longer afford to keep it.
I had one 3 day rental due for following year, the lady had paid in full, Camptoo had kept the money as this is their policy, money would have been paid once rental went ahead. I was sent an invoice from Camptoo for 拢100, this was a payment to them so I could take my advertisement down off their site! I paid this begrudgingly but thought that would be an end to it. Out of the blue, a few days after paying the 拢100, I received another invoice for 拢167.00! No explanation, just an e mail stating how to make payment ?
I also rented out through Camplify, a brilliant company to deal with. I fancy my advertisement with them, they cancelled the one booking for next year, no charge, they wished me well for the future and our business was done!
If I can give anyone advice, if your looking to rent out your motorhome, stay away from Camptoo! In my opinion, they are nothing short of a bunch of crooks.

They need to improve the quality of their service a lot:
The owner of the van didn't use the mask at all while showing us the inside, because "she didn't believe in these things". Camptoo justified this saying they wrote an email to camper owners to recommend using it. Do you think they did anything when I told them what happened?
I returned the camper with damage and immediately reported it for honesty and was ready to pay as it was my responsibility. They sent me the invoice 3 days after but ensured me I was covered by the insurance, so they were going to take only the money for the excess. One month later, they contacted me because they said I had to pay the rest too, as the kind of damage wasn't covered by the insurance. I repeat, this after they sent me the money back and ensured me the case was closed.
They rarely answer the phone. When we try to call them during the travel for some assistance, we waited for so long with no answer.
Worst renting experience ever. And I rented with so many different companies!

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! We hired the camper vans 20th September / 26th September 2020. One of the camper vans we hired out broke down one hour into the journey down to Newquay leaving us spending the night at the side of the motorway with three young children. The van was recovered the following morning and we was promised a full refund which we never received. No holiday, no refund , very rude and unprofessional staff . 0 stars!!

Total disaster. Campervan that was hired not available due to mechanical issue, offered a replacement with 20% off. All good, a stone chip on the windscreen led to a crack, 拢140 surcharge on the insurance, fair enough not our fault, but it is what it is. A map reading light fell apart during use, the owner said we could sort that out and take it from the 20% owed. He then has issued an insurance claim for that light,拢25 or so I reckon, no it's another 拢140 for a claim. So having paid extra to reduce my excess I am now 拢280 out of pocket, awaiting the balance of the bond, and the little toad still owes me 20% and will not communicate. Do not touch this lot with a barge pole. At time of writing, and of November, windscreendamage mid August. You could not make it up. Malcolm Saunders shame on you.

We booked Andy's campervan Bertie through Camptoo at the beginning of October 2020. There was nothing wrong with the campervan but you may want to think about these points before booking. Read ALL smallprint. The campervan was, we thought, expensive. We were charged extra to park on the front of Andy's house. Charged extra if we wanted to pick the van up earlier. The campervan has to be cleaned and jet washed before return. Upon return, make sure someone adds their signature to yours on the inspection form and insist on a copy. We had to negotiate through Camptoo to get our full deposit back as Andy challenged the cleanliness of the van. Although Camptoo seemed fair, we thought they dragged their heels on chasing up replies from Andy.
It took 5 weeks to get our full deposit cleared. Overall the experience has put us off ever booking a campervan again.

Due to U.K. COVID 19 regulations we are unable to travel and collect the van. The owner is also not allowed to rent it to us. This is nobody鈥檚 fault – but does mean it is illegal for the rental to happen. I therefore requested a refund. The owner is happy to provide this. Camptoo issued a Facebook post on October 19th making it clear that they issue cash refunds in this situation. Camptoo however is refusing to provide this in reality. This means their company are dishonest liars. Offering only a partial credit towards a future booking, and not a full cash refund which they state they will. In the U.K. this is illegal. It must also be illegal in Holland too, claiming one thing and doing something totally different once people book. The company are unable to provide the requested service, and under distance selling regulations they are legally obliged to provide a refund. Especially as they have advertised that this is what they will do. Their tone in emails is one of 鈥榥ot giving a damn鈥? I am therefore left with no option but to request a chargeback from my credit card company.
It says a lot about a company how they treat their customers at difficult times. Through no fault of myself or the owner we are both being penalised by Camptoo. They are unethical money grabbers. I would not recommend or trust them in future. I鈥檒l be happy to remove this review if they decide to do the decent thing and refund me in full.

Excellent service our original booking was postponed due to COVID19 and the customer service was excellent, responded in hours rather than days, We re-arranged our booking to October and again the support was excellent as the owner decided not to rent out his motorhome. Gave support during the vacation in case of any problems but we didn't need but was reassuring. The website is easy to use and follow what required next etc. I would and have recommended this company.

I am having similar trouble to the trouble that John Gibb had (Review October 20). I found a beautiful motorhome for hire at a very good price. Asked for a quote for next April and replied very quickly saying available. After speaking to my wife we decided May was better for us to go. Messaged saying I'd like to change the dates. No problem was the reply. I also had a couple of questions regarding insurance and how the 拢1000 deposit had to be paid. All i am getting back is a reminder to pay the downpayment to secure the booking. Messaged saying I would like answers to my queries before I pay anything. Clicked on the link anyway and the dates were still the original ones I first gave them. Messaged them about this and as yet have had no reply. This was only 24 hours ago but originally they were very quick to respond. I've messaged them again today and after 5 hours no response. I have even tried ringing them but after a recorded message the phone just rings and rings and no answer. All in all I am very disappointed with camptoo and have even started thinking its some sort of scam and when I make the downpayment I won't hear from them again and won't see my money again.

Overall I recommend Camptoo. The communication was regular and clear. The only issue I had was sorting the insurance, but the customer service team were superb and cannot be faulted.

I tried to book 4 different vans on this site. 1st cancelled because the van needed a service (my booking was for a weekend in a over a weeks time), 2nd cancelled the booking after I have paid, the owners claim the van was damaged but their own website implies they have double booked, 3rd I cancelled as at the dates were changes and not what I had requested, 4th never replied…. still fighting for my refund and sick of them waistline my time….

Camptoo are a disgrace of a company! Booked a 4 day hire and at the earliest option want you to pay in full then email constantly about deposit payments before it鈥檚 required. Then when the government announce that with Covid restrictions you can鈥檛 have more than one household mixing we had to cancel. Cancelled 3 weeks before due to go and the day after the government鈥檚 restrictions. Called them couldn鈥檛 get anyone to talk to me so took the online cancellation policy which means they keep over 30% of the full price! I emailed a complaint and had no reply. Have since received a voicemail telling me it鈥檚 company policy. What was supposed to be a treat for the kids who have had no holidays this year with the pandemic and which we saved so hard for.
Avoid this company and if there is any justice it鈥檚 companies like this who will not survive.
If you want to take the gamble go ahead but try and avoid there constant demands for full payments and deposits and fingers crossed you don鈥檛 have to cancel. Just glad I didn鈥檛 pay the deposit early as the chased me for or instead of 拢150 stolen I could have been missing 拢650.00

MOTORHOME OWNER
advertised my brand new Motorhome on camptoo and followed all the guidelines. I have my own annual self drive insurance as I also take private bookings. I got my first booking through camptoo so decided to call them To go over what they had obtained from the hirer, as my insurance are very strict as to what is needed , camptoo assured me they had everything from the hirer and all I needed do was to print the transfer of ownership form and let the owner drive away in my 拢60k Motorhome. The day of departure arrived and I again decided to call camptoo before the guy actually drive away. Camptoo then informed me that I had been given false information and they had NOT obtained any address identification or photo of the guys licence, the guy was ready to drive away and would of not been insured and this could of been fatal for him and me. Very dangerous false information that cost the hirer a lot of money and also lost me over 拢800
STRONGLY ADVISE any Motorhome owners to do your own paper work and do NOT trust camptoo.

Camptoo has the largest range of vans/motorhomes to hire all over the uk. I rent mine and I also rent if mines out and I have plans. I have used and been used by Camptoo and so far no worries!

We had our trip cancelled 48 hours before pickup and Camptoo frankly couldn't care! Not impressed!! Now how long do I have to wait for my refund. Guess I'll now be staying home!

For the past few days they dont answer the phone – I think they may have gone bust. I have a renter turning up in 2 hours to go on holiday and they system says I dont have insurance (which I do) – not sure if I let the renter take my van or not – terrible company.

Fabulous system that helps us camper owners generate passive income from idle campers. We all enjoy our campers but they do spend a lot of time time doing nothing! Camptoo gets them earning their keep and Has the added benefit of getting all those little internal systems running constantly, which is good for the camper.
