Limited functionality, poor image compression and incredibly weak customer support.

Parts of their interface have always bothered me but I carried on. However, the customer service is so bad it's laughable and they seem completely unbothered that we are leaving after 5+ years of business due to their inflexibility.

My account was closed (unknowingly to me) no email, no communication what so ever. Can't log back in, can't access my database, no word from support. Essentially hung out to dry.
,
They claim it is only us, however all other emails are working perfectly with our servers. There customer service is so limited, I would not use this platform for serious commercial purposes.

I suppose I'll be charged for a service I wasn't able to use. This attitude is unjustifiable.
,
And after nothing less than a blunt and dogmatic response to our issue, we were told in no uncertain terms – that it was 'tough'.
Despite offering to prove ownership via Credit Cards statements, HMRC records, Companies House details etc. We were still met with a shut door. Not even Google has this draconian approach to someone else's information.
As such, I am now reviewing the use of CM with all our clients.
Be very careful to keep any copies of your lists because it may suffer the same fate and CM doesn't seem to care.
Luckily for us, we have now found an old copy of our 3K+ database – but be warned, if you lose access to your email – you lose access to your database.
Disappointed of Essex!

Very disappointed. I have emailed them but I am guessing it will not go in our favour as they refuse to do refunds. If it does then I will remove this review.
update: Contacted me with a pathetic, useless response. Basically, they can't control their own systems.

I uploaded a new credit card on December and my billing was unbeknown to me, changed to monthly.
I escalated this to their Head of Support and was disappointed, although not surprised, that the poor approach to customer service clearly comes from the top.
Campaign Monitor operate a business in what is now a highly competitive environment, my advice is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Whilst the founder's are now two of the wealthiest people in Australia, customer service clearly is no longer of importance to them from their ivory tower.
Again – GO ELSEWHERE and avoid the pitfalls I have experienced from this shonky company.

hence why a demo and preliminary meeting was needed. Their salespeople don't seem very ambitious. We obviously went with another provider.

Campaign Monitor has never let me down in five years of using them for various jobs and clients. Their customer service is the best I've ever encountered from ANY online company. You will get a response quickly, and they will actually read your email properly (unlike so many other companies you send boilerplate responses). They've literally helped me amend campaigns that have been sent. Always super smart, helpful and friendly.
Additionally, their email previewer facilities are invaluable for catching problems in different mail clients. I literally couldn't perform my job without it.
The best thing of all: They're cheaper than their competitors.
I cannot recommend this company enough!

I previously used iContact.com after trialling this and ConstantContact.com. I liked iContact customer service, but their packages weren't quite right, and I could never get my campaigns to look very professional (as I was doing them myself).
CampaignMonitor works just great, they even have a $5 per campaign trial option where they will send the DM email out to their own specially set up accounts across different email providers and operating systems and show you in little screen grabs what the display will look like on each system.
This is really useful as what looks good sent to my Outlook 7 may appear very differently in hotmail, or on an iphone/blackberry.
They are also very affordable for sending low quantity campaigns.
Their service is intended to be re-branded for design companies/ PR companies to set up email campaigns for their own clients, and is sometimes white-labelled as something else.
You can send emails out to 5 addresses before you need to pay to, no credit card details needed here, so easy to try it out too.
They have very good customer service for the small issues I've needed help with also.
