Buymie

I am always very happy with my shopping from buymie. The shoppers are prompt and courteous. This is the only shopping service that will have the shopper contact you if there is any change to your order and we get a choice of 3 shops

I was charged 16 euro on a 94 euro shop in Lidl, repeatedly asked for a breakdown and was completely stone walled. Never again!

Used this service for the first time this week.

Waited 3 days for an available slot (their promise to deliver in an hour is misleading).

They did deliver when expected, but the fruit and veg were old, no care was taken to choose fresh produce. There were a lot of substitutions as well.

Also the 鈧?0 delivery fee from Lidl is ridiculous.

It is a complete rip off. Between platform fees delivery fee and also will not refund payment for items not received into your credit card BUT instead to your buymre account. DO NoT USE

I used BuyMie for the first time this week as my daughter has Covid and I鈥檓 self isolating with her. I ordered on Mon and could not get a delivery slot until Wed. That was fair enough under the present circumstances but my order was to arrive at 6pm… by 7pm there was no sign of it so I emailed re it and was told my order wouldn鈥檛 arrive until 10 pm !! We were waiting on that food for dinner so I then had to order a takeaway. Next I got a call from my shopper who was only picking up my stuff an hour after it was to be delivered !! He arrived at 8pm which at least was better than 10 pm but I should have been notified in advance if there was going to be a delay on my order. Very unprofessional and there is not even a contact number is your delivery doesn鈥檛 arrive on time. I would not recommend this company or ever use it again. Very disappointing experience !

Got my first shoppingdeliver this morning by Buymie. Mary R was my shopper. Everything arrived as I ordered and if anything was unavailable Mary called me with alternatives and prices. It was a very easy and efficient on line grocery shopping experience. I will definitely use Buymie again

Enticed by their "1, 2, or 3 hours" delivery statement and after putting together a big shopping basket, the soonest I could get delivery was three days later. Back to Tesco.ie I suppose.

Platform fees are outrageous and not obvious when ordering.. its a rip off and not sure why the likes of dunnes, lidl and tesco use them considering it it adds a substantial cost onto the shop (20euro in my case)! Be wary of the plus service too as the platform charges are still applied.

I used them once only, months later I realized they were taken 鈧?1.99 each month from my bank account, I tried to contact them over several days until I contacted my bank and got them blocked…Eventually through an email they told me I agreed to their terms and condition. We are in our 70s and were cocooning at the time and were desperate to get groceries and feel we were taken advantage off…..Under no circumstances would they refund me …..I Like Lidl but think they should look into what I feel is a scam…We have to do personnel shopping now…..

Everytime I've needed buymie has been my best solution to get the shoppings at home during the 2020. Also, customer service team always replies to my requests.

A life saver on many occasions. Have been using Buymie weekly and each time with a perfect end result. Cannot fault them at all, especially during lockdowns, etc.

Expensive. Bad quality fresh vegetables. Delivery staff was lovely …but will definitely NOT use Buymie again. Tesco Click and Collect is MUCH better.

The convenience and level of service is amazing. Shopping within an hour. Beautifully packed. Sensible substitutions and really nice people delivering. As a front line worker I don鈥檛 like to go into shops as I feel I have enough exposure and am short of time!

(I've worked advising supermarkets and mobility businesses on services like this, internationally.

Buymie saw a gap in the Irish market and is supposed to be targetting the UK, but IMO the offering is not yet competitive with the nearest, i.e. UK, examples, nor with Tesco's own service in Ireland.

If the offering is not competitive, once customer acquisition slows to the point where further gains cost the development strategy more than they benefit it, a buyer must be found. In a changing VC and wider tech investment market, the eventual sale of the Buymie service and customer database {the tech is limited} to a larger incumbent is likely to rest on customer retention and current and projected value — not customer acquisition. TLDR – Buymie should try to become at least Ocado, as opposed to Instacart.)

I give the service two stars relative to Ocado and Waitrose in UK (Buymie's aspired for competitors) and Tesco in Ireland, with one star removed for price-gouging of customers and exploitation of workers (relative to Waitrose, a good employer, not Tesco, a bad one).

Problems include:
*Pricing (goods) — deliberately opaque to customer
*Price-setting (picking and delivery) — seems unsophisticated with respect to the picker's required time/effort (potentially having a knock-on effect on service quality)
*Pickers — seem under-trained/under-incentivised
*Stock availability– whatever about substitutions, in-app stock seems to bear extremely limited relationship with in-shop, in my experience (a further reason to use Tesco and tip your delivery man).

Overall, I hope Buymie will improve but so far, I've found the service generally poor and will not use it again unless provided a cash-burn discount.

Really great app to use. Easy and has access to 3 main shops to shop from. Buyers always friendly and call you if there are any issues. Customer service is great and always helpful. Definetly recommend Buymie.

Wasted my time on putting the order. If you guys fix a time stick to it. Your website says 2 pm for 31 Dec & it logged out at 1.40 pm.
Spoiled the whole plan, now I have to go out shopping. Will never use your services.
