Ordered from Burgess in July, $99.00. Order came USPS in September. All of the plants were crushed and slimy. Some of the items even had been substituted with items of a lesser value. Called Burgess and they refused to adjust our bill. They wanted us to ship the dead plants back at our expense. Don't order from this company!

Ordered over 40 dollars of plants. Took my money no problem. Should have received by now. Went to check my account with them, no mention of order, But my card was charged. Tried several times to contact, no response. Don't order from them

I have been trying to reach them for 6 days. The phone number does not work, and they won't answer the emails. Everything in the order was dead. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering from this company.

I came back to do an update on a review I left here awhile back for the 5 in 1 PLUM TREE. People on here were upset they received a stick verses a grafted tree with branches. As stated before, upon inspection, I recognized they're using the bud grafting method. 3 of the 5 grafts grew into long healthy branches plus a few branches from mother plant. I'm ok with this. Enough for cross pollination. We've had weird weather since early spring so I expected a bit of damage.
I'd still order from this company despite their shortcomings. They might be rough around the edges but anything I've ordered has ultimately been fine and customer service has helped me in the past.

This company is the worst !! Every part of my experience with them was awful. If you want to be totally disappointed like I was with there service and products just take a few hundred dollar bills and burn them.

Their catalog is full of pretty pictures of products. This is NOT what you will be receiving! You will get dead sticks. some don't even have roots. Their catalog is a gross misrepresentation. Nowhere does it even hint that you'll get tiny sticks as plants that are almost dead. Their return policy is blatant theft of your money. You do not get a refund. You get a piece of paper good only with them that must be used all at one time or you forfeit the rest of your money. Don't even think about doing business with this company unless you want to get ripped off.

Nothing that I can say that hasn't already been said. It has bee 2 months and have not received my order and cannot get a status. Phone is always busy and they don't respond to emails. COVID is a convenient excuse for them but I have not had problems with other plant companies.

Ordered $150 worth of plants in April. Just received 1 dried up dead plant and still waiting on 6 more. Customer service is terrible. Takes forever to get through. Stay away! Never every will shop here again.

My plants arrived dead and their customer service was horrible and misleading. Don't buy from this place!! You will be disappointed if you do!!! I would have given them a zero rating if that was possible

Don't order from this company! My order was placed on 4/24/2020. Credit card billed. Repeatedly tried to call for shipping information but their line was always busy. Sent 4 emails and noone ever replied to me. Received shipment today on 6/13/2020. Plants were dry. Mosquito geraniums were dry and broken (pic added) . Some of the roots had mold on them. Substitutions to my order were made that I didn't want for two items that I ordered that definitely were not of equal value. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT order from Burgess!!!

1st placed order May 6th. Still hadn't received and but 4 packages of $.99 sunflower seeds. They cancelled order after shipping these seeds, without a request from me. Then charged full shipping cost for 4 pkg of seeds. Won't refund anything from shipping. 2nd I placed another order April 6th, here it is June 22th, still no order. Won't order from them again. Suggest k.vanbouren they ship quickly

Let me add my voice to the list of dissatisfied customers. You get what you pay for. They has this B.S. policy that no returns or refunds are allowed without the original shipping label. Who keeps this any why does no one else in this world have such a ridiculous policy. You can't cancel the order. It arrived 2 weeks late well beyond planting season. It has a short shipment. Telephone line is off the hook so no one answers. Email customer service is of no help. Rip joint !!

After reading the other comments, I have decided not to waste my time anymore with them. Order 2 Rashberries, 4 blueberries, and 2 blackberries on the parcel 1 of 2. They took a month to get it to us, and when they did the order wasn't right. They sent us 4 blackberries and 2 blueberries. Then it took another 3 weeks before the correct plants got sent, which we had to pay for again. Then took another few weeks to get parcel 2 of 2(around 2 months to receive 2 of 2), instead of reaching out and letting us know that they ran out of what we wanted for the vegetables in parcel 2 they just took the liberty to choose what they wanted us to have as replacements, instead of just giving us our money back. With reviews of them not honoring their commitment to the customer I figured the less troublesome route is to find another place to do business with. Amazon did amazing with both timing and what I actually order, and on top of that the plants are doing better then those from Burgess. Amazon has excellent customer service and can take care of customers better then burgess. If you have the money to blow, then Burgess is okay. But if you don't want to pay for something inferior that may come way later then when you need it in the ground , Amazon is a good place to go, the plants that we got from a seller was veteran owned also, and these vets did a fantastic job with the care they provided.

Have ordered from them in the past with about a 30% success rate. They claim you can return for refund, but there is never anything left to return. This year I made a $11 order of stuff I can't get anywhere else on April 10th, with $10 shipping. On May 4th they charged my account. Still don't have my items. Have contacted them many times and they just keep saying it is coming soon. Asked them to at least refund the shipping as it is ridiculous to pay that much and wait this long, but they didn't even address that. Really doubting I will even receive this order at all. Don't recommend purchasing from them.

I ordered 2 of the dwarf 5-in-1 fruit trees 2 years ago. At first, both arrived broken. I had to jump through hoops and provide the original shipping label with a letter via regular mail then wait several months to get replacements. Well, 2 years later, it turns out that those 5-in-1 fruit trees were actually just a crabapple tree and an invasive callery pear tree, both of which have only inedible fruits and get up to 50' tall, not the 10-12' as stated. I spent $80 on these saplings, and now I have to dig them up.

Plants arrived after 6 weeks, and 2 emails to CS, in a plastic bag with no shipping protection. The bag was mucky inside with rotted leaves. One plant had no leaves, the other had a few black diseased leaves. I'm going to try to save them, but who would want to ever order from this shoddy, shady company again. Their refund policy, if you don't ship the dead plants back, is for money off on your next order….who would order twice from this disreputable company!. Still waiting for my seeds…maybe I'll receive them in time for Christmas!

Please note that I am taking into account the issue of COVID. However, Customer Care takes a week at a time to get back to you. Placed my order and was getting no information, etc so I tried to cancel my order. Weeks of one email back and forth at a time. They said my order shipped but no order in sight yet they charged my credit card weeks ago. What a horrible, horrible experience!!!!!!!!!

I never received my order….they had no problem cashing my check, but never received my order from them. I can't get my money back and now I have to go our and buy everything……worse company I have ever dealt with.

These guys are a joke! I understand the current state of things but the reality is that placing customer service agents remotely to phones from their own homes is an extremely easy and cheap process these days. None the less they have NO WORKING PHONE NUMBER, and don't mention that anywhere on their site. However if you try to call their phone it's disconnected! That says a lot right there!!!
It takes days to get a response to an email, yet when they do respond they don't answer any questions. I wish I had read the extensive number of bad reviews online prior to ordering. Assuming they were a reputable company, then reasonable substitutions would have been okay. SCAM!!! First, the plants I ordered were almost all potted. However, I am now waiting for the "dormant" plants which are apparently kept dormant in a climate controlled place (seriously?!?!) to be what exactly?? They were "HARVESTED", so even though they may arrived in a pot they were not grown in that pot, they will simply be packaged in a pot.
Also, I ordered a liatris barefoot plant which was automatically flipped on my order confirmation to 25 bulbs. I still haven't rec'd responses to that or several other questions. Total shady company, misleading website, non-existent service.
