BuddySchool

If I could give this site a big fat ZERO, I would.

I鈥檒l try to keep this short. After COVID-19 hit, I decided to put my experience and qualifications to use by searching for remote teaching sites. So in August, I stumbled across BuddySchool and while I鈥檓 not a huge fan of paying to join sites, I went ahead and paid $5 to have my tutor profile listed. I鈥檇 been searching and applying for a while but coming from a Tier 3 country, it鈥檚 not always easy to land a remote teaching job, part of the reason I went against my better judgement and paid to have my profile listed on BuddySchool. I wasn鈥檛 sold on the branding and the interface, which probably should have been the first red flag, but I guess hindsight is a fine thing.

Anyway, after paying, I noticed that while BuddySchool debited my PayPal account, my account remained invisible/inactive. They even emailed me to activate my profile. When I contacted them to tell them I鈥檇 paid, they claimed they hadn鈥檛 received the money and also didn鈥檛 have an account registered under my email address. Yet I still have the emails they鈥檝e sent to the same email address, the same email address I verified with them. I also have my proof of payment to BuddySchool.

One of the emails I received:

Hello,聽
unfortunately I cannot find any profile registered to your e-mail addres – Please contact us from a proper e-mail.聽

Regards,
Patty
The BuddySchool Team

I went to log in to collect more evidence but found my account had been deleted without warning! I was already wound up by BuddySchool鈥檚 claims of never having received any money from me. But shutting down my account without warning led me to believe this site is scammy. I鈥檓 writing this review, my first on TrustPilot but the first of many I鈥檒l be posting across many other review platforms to warn people NOT to use BuddySchool after the experience I had. It鈥檚 not even about the $5, it鈥檚 about the principle. You鈥檝e been warned.
