They gave me a van with damages and dents all on the right side of the car. The rest of the vehicle was fine. I signed the protocol saying I acknowledge the damage.
I returned the vehicle as I received it and the next day they said I put new dents exactly between all the other dents. I showed them the protocol and they continued to say I put 'new' dents on the vehicle. How convenient that it just happened to be amongst all the other dents and not anywhere else on the van.
Now they want to charge me EUR 1300 for damages when the rental was meant to be EUR 230.
The case is in review still but I continue to get letters of demand for the outstanding money. I have had to get a lawyer to assist further.
If I could write the following in a bigger and bolder font I would …. DO NOT RENT FROM BUCHBINDER!!!!! THEY ARE COMPLETE LIARS AND SCAMMERS!!!!

I reserved a vehicle 3 weeks prior to arriving at Buchbinder at Frankfurt airport on August 1st 2020.
I am disabled and can only drive automatic cars. I arrived at Frankfurt airport and had to wait for a tardy employee to show up and to inform me that they did not have any automatic cars for me and that there was absolutely nothing she could do. Rental agent was unprofessional and rude. I was stuck there with no car and still a long to go.
I do not recommend anyone renting from this horrible company.

Charged me for damage that I didn't do, a total of 220 euro, (booking No 18051889), provided a poor quality car with 4 illegal tyres, all 4 were down to their notches! They refused to refund the deposit and ignored the fact that they provided an unsafe car for me and my family, she was arrogant and refused to talk to me. Do not use them, they should be closed down!

Recently rented a car at this 鈥瀗ice鈥?company through rentalcars.com, booked a FULL insurance package that was about 50 euros extra (the car costed 100 euros). At the reception, I was asked for a credit card for them to block 1000 euros deposit on it in case of any car damages. Yeah, yeah, you got it right, the insurance was fully payed, and they needed ADDITIONALLY this amount of money to be blocked on my card for some reason. Do you expect this when you pay 30% on top to avoid exactly this? I don鈥檛 have any credit card but I had a MasterCard DEBIT card with me. Nope, the XXI century didn鈥檛 gift them with a luxury of accepting any debit cards. They offered an alternative 鈥?to pay KASKO insurance AGAIN (another 37 euros)!
What I payed: 100 euros for a car, 50 euros for KASKO, 37 euros disciplinary fee for not owning a credit card and 60 euros for extra kilometers because they offer 200 km per day only (together 247 euros).
What I got: a headache, a Skoda for one day and lost 40 minutes of my life at the reception.
P.S. from 10 phone calls I made at random times during opening hours, only one call was answered. Buchbinder Airport Stuttgart, Germany.

Never again! Rented a car which broke down after 10km with overheated engine. Called customer service immediately. After a 4 hour wait we called again and found out that the customer service hadn't passed on our request for road-side assistance. We were also told that the car had broken down earlier with the exact same problem. Simply outrageous!

Horrible service. Did not refund my safety deposit. For 4 months now. I've written many emails with no reply at all. Only when I threatened to sue them did they recently return a reply. Still no resolve of the issue. Not to mention the car they brought me in the first place did not start, and there was no one around to help.

COMPLETELY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
Booked a trip through rentalcars.com, cost 鈧?00 for four days. landed late in teh evening and my wife informed me that she did not have her driving license with her. Asked at the desk could they help they could by putting me on the policy for an additional 鈧?50 and no KY thrown in for free. Lesson for me is make sure thedriver has their license and if not stop and think and rebook online.

They insisted we buy full insurance from them, though we had our own on US credit card. When we tried to explain it to them we got rude answer "either you pay now or no car". Next, several days after we returned the car, they charged our credit card another 40+ Euro (with no communication from them)

I rented a car with Buchbinder, on January 24, 2020 from Frankfurt, I had already paid in advance, it said that I would need an international license and therefore would not accept my rental. In the office next door, I rented a car at Avis, and they denied that there was any requirement in Germany for an international license. I think the company acts in a wrong way whit the customers since no international card is required in German territory. I had a loss of 1000 dollars in this circumstance

Book car directly with them over website. Also requested and decreased excess from 600 to 150 eu, they had no other options on there website)))!!!. When arrived, on there counter in Vienna airport they told me that they will block 600 on my credit card. I have asked what for? Answer was given for fuel and maybe you will extend…))))馃槀 I said, if I want to extend, I will do that and pay.. Then they tried to sell more expensive insurance (why they dont put it on there website?) With zero excess. With this option will be 400 deposit on card. If you want to break your holiday, rent from them, otherwise find something else.

Worst car rental company I've ever encountered!!!! I couldn't say how much I regret booking in this company. First and foremost, their office is far from the airport. We have to wait for 30 minutes for a shuttle to transfer to their office. When the shuttle arrived, its not big enough for the amount of passengers waiting, so we were told to wait again for another 20-30 minutes. As soon as we arrived in their office, the family before us are upset and discussing things with the reception lady. When it was our turn, I understand why. The lady demanded to see my full booking. I have previously printed out the confirmation letter, she told me it's not valid because the small print is not there! I thought it was some kind of silly jokes but I have told her that that's the only paper I have received from the car rental.
Also,they are forced us to buy the excess insurance from their company. Since we decline to get an excess insurance policy, the lady was threatening us all sorts of things. We have mentioned that we have an excess insurance from Zurich and it is valid around the world. She told us, "NOT IN BUDAPEST". We are forced to pay more than 拢300 for an excess insurance from them! That doesn't stop from there, they charge us to go to Austria 拢60/ day. We were charge from other company for cross country as a one off but not per day. Proper daylight robbery. We will never rent a car from this company ever again!!! Total rip off!!!

My story with Buchbinder!
I rented a car at Hamburg airport to go to Flensburg. I found a quote on billigen Mietwagen, that was my first mistake. My quote was 88 euro including insurance. Arriving at Hamburg the Buchbinder employee tells me that the insurance includes self-coverage of 800 euro. I told the employee that I wanted an insurance that covered everything, so I paid 31 euro (11000-euro year) and should then be totally covered!!! Happy me I thought, well I was young and never been raped before……. Anyway, I got my car, a Clio, and got around 100 m away when a red light came on saying 鈥淪TOP brake system failure鈥? I turned around and went back with the car telling about the issue. The first thing they said was 鈥渕aybe it鈥檚 just water, you could try to go a bit further and maybe it will disappear. I said no way and demanded another car and got another Clio. I drove direct to Buchbinder in Flensburg and left the car full fueled without a scratch, made by me.
The calculated amount I initially got from Buchbinder was 101,56 Euros including insurance. A Copple of days later I received the final amount saying 223,56 Euro. The extra amount was due a damage. First, I thought, this must be a mistake. BUT!!
The damage was the Fahrzeugschein was missing. I have to admit I never check that. But I鈥檓 insured,,, (here the rape comes) Handling price 47 euros and self payment 75 euros. My point is, why would I remove the registration paper of the car. Why is this not cowered by the expensive insurance. The last two days I wasted a lot of my time writing mails, calls鈥?
I rent a car one time a month in average and I never tried anything like this. So, if you hear of anyone about to rent a car, please advise them to stay away from Buchbinder.

Booked a BMW, but got a Skoda.They offered me a Mercedes for 50 euro extra for a day. The full insurance I had payed, they said was with rentalcars, not them. So they demanded 1000 euro in deposit and a 800 euro risk for any damage. Unless I Bought a complete new insurance with them for 35 euros. So I had to pay for insurance twice. Never more rentalcars and buchbinder.

I should have read trustpilot reviews of this company before booking a car. I used rentalcars.com, booked a car, paid for it, arrived at DUS, and was told that they could not use my debit card for the insurance. "It says in the voucher, it says in the voucher," they kept saying. My choice was to lose the money I had already paid and go to a different company – or buy another insurance for 105 EUR. I did the latter – and here, they all of a sudden could use my debit card. Do not use them.

Stuttgart airport – they will tell you the car has no damages, but they will not show you the car. You first need to sign a report, then you walk 3 kilometers to pick up the car only to find out, that the car is full of scratches and damages. When you return the car, they will not sign a report, they just take the car and say "It is OK, you can go, no problem. When you insist you want the report, they ask you: Are there any damages? And because they usually are there (from the previous customers), they tell you they will charge you 800EUR for every damage, because they intentionally do not record the damages in their system, so that they can say "It wasn't there when you rented it!". Ideally, stay away! If you've already signed a contract, then take a lot of very good pictures before driving the car…

Don't expect to get a car that is comparable to what you have booked.
My case:
Booked BMW 1 class or comparable – got Opel Mokka with Slovakia number plate and 0 interior level. Not even electric window lifter for the back seats. Very disappointing.
Booked Ford Focus class or comparable – got Dacia Sandero, again without any interior features.
Especially for the Dacia case I discussed with them, because there is no way that a Dacia without A/C etc. is the same as a Ford Focus.
The money you save with them won't be worth the hassle. Go to Sixt or Europcar.

I had an accident in Germany which was not my fault. Buchbinder acknowledged this when returning the car as the other vehicles company involved in the accident admitted guilt and sent them a statement confirming this. Buchbinder has since taken over 800 Euros from my account and refuses to return the money. They are not capable of listening to their customers and cannot accept the possibility that they are wrong despite all the evidence giving them. I have used this company for many years on a regular basis but find their attitude and dealings extremely aggressive of late and will not use this company again. Whilst at Munich airport this August I witnessed many fellow travellers making complaints to the Buchbinder staff, some quite serious mistakes on Buchbinder's part but their reaction and consequent abilty to deal with complaints was appalling and aggressive. They have become a very bad company to deal with recently and if you require a vehicle to rent then I strongly suggest not using this poor excuse for a rental company.

I rented a car in Neunkirchen Saar from Buchbinder.
The car had scratches and damages from little stone throws in the windshield which they told me about and was documented.
I didn鈥檛 expect to get a car that was already damaged like that.
There was no reverse camera and inbuild gps as well which was inconvenient. Anyways, i needed a car and didn鈥檛 complain about it.
The removable god they gave me was totally out of date, hadn鈥檛 been updated in over a year.
When I returned the car, everything was fine, they checked it thoroughly, the employer said that everything was ok.
I got my deposit back and three days later received an email that I had damaged the car and needed to pay for it.
Ridiculous, the car had no new damages, only the old ones, stay away from them, they will try to charge you with something.
After doing a search online, I discovered that this was a common theme with Buchbinder.
Not afraid to involve my lawyer if they keep harnessing me, but you might not be as lucky and loose your deposit or wait month for it.

Like all people who wrote about Buchbiner in Berlin Schn枚nerfeld airport it is true, this company charges you for so many extra and they are not honest about it.
I returned the car back full tank but received extra charge saying it is for fuel?!!!
I have receipt as evidence but they even charged more than they said if they were to refill the tank for me. And they made up a random charge for extra miles, as well.
Total robbery, scammers and no professionalism whatsoever.
Avoid this company and warn all your friends on facebook instagram and social media, this fraud company must be stopped!

Do not use them at all! I rented for one week without any issues, I picked up the car in a dimly lit garage and was told everything was fine and there is no damage, however when i got back, they looked in a very well lit area. they found a two centimetre scratch which i did not notice, i was charged almost 鈧?00!! This is literally robbery. Never EVER use them!

Was told I had to pay extortionate insurance prices at Cologne Bonn airport because I didn't have a credit card. My wife had hers but we weren't allowed to use it because it wasn't in my name. The car was still dirty and had two warning lights on the dashboard. I took pictures of these and returned to the desk to tell the representative who told me that because I'd paid for the insurance it would all be covered and we'd have no problems. When we returned home I recieved an email saying that damage had been found and they may or may not need to take some or all of our deposit. A couple of days later, lo and behold money was taken from my account to pay for what ever damage had been found. I've not had any response to my complaint emails and still have no idea what the 'damage' might be. Please please please do not use this company at any cost. We'd never used a rental before but will definitely be going with more reputable dealers if we do in future.
