,
I'm a dissabled client, with a wheelchair I can't operate myself. I can only walk short distances on two stick with difficulties which anyone can see clearly for themselves.
I was waiting for my carer to join me on the 18.07.18 to have drinks, catch up and carry on with our day. I was told, 3 times few minutes after sitting down and while being clearly on the phone with an urgent official type call, that I had to order.
The staff was made aware I was waiting for my carer.
He then added that I was blocking the entrance with my wheelchair, with a buggy passing by easily few minutes latter disproving him. I have further photographic evidence that this is not the case and hope that the shop CCTV will be available to the shop management to clearly show this. There were enough space for either a Twin Buggy or one of the Bariactric bigger wheelchair to go in and out with extra space to spare.
20mins latter he litteraly ordered me to "order something or GO!", his exact words. The shop had empty tables at the time, one right next to me, and further down in the shop. I wasn't therefore preventing customers to be seated and served. None were waiting. The staff told me that clients HAD to order WITHIN 20mins or leave with no sign on the shop clients had to do so.
The alledged manager, whom I tried to speak to, talked about me accross the shop to the staff in front of other clients in a language I don't understand, making a show of me. They spoke in a different language I don't understand, and in front of other clients, making a show of me, humiliating me. The clients who by then sat next to us, confirmed this, by them asking details on the "complaint about ordering", a fact they could only know from the language spoken. They had just come in the shop so didn't witness anything before that.
The alledged manager then laughed to my face when talking to me. He confirmed he was refusing to give me his name and walked away with no explanation whatsoever or at very least help I asked about information on making a complaint.
I've been to East Ham Bubble Tea from the time they opened and often do each time I am in the area, as I like their special teas. I never had this level of disrespect, harassment, belittlement problem before. I was further shocked by being discriminated about due to my disabilities. There have been repeated wrong orders before, but nothing anywhere near that scale.
I'm putting this up for other customers who may have had experienced the same situation. And others to be aware of this. I met one of the managers I seemed to recall, who is both polite and kind. I hope that management will address and take my complaint seriously.
I hope that few staff with a lack of basic manners won't stop any of us to enjoy Buble Tea or spoil our day.
