It is so refreshing to have a supplier that cares.
They will continue to receive my business.

1. Not answering phones. I've never had a problem getting onto someone quickly and they have always been polite and helpful.
2. Cost. I did some cost comparisons between the US and AU prices and found the total markup averaged around 40%. Considering the shipping costs from the US, GST and a profit margin, I feel this is quite reasonable. I have even found that items readily available in shops are comparable, and in some cases markedly cheaper, so there are bargains to be had by shopping at Brownells AU too.
3. Timeframes. Yes, the shipping can take a while, but the expected timeframes are clearly articulated on the website. Yes, some shipments can take longer with the only real delay I have experienced caused by an overly long Border Force inspection. I actually had a subsequent order 'overtake' this order, arriving well before the first order. The emails at every step of the supply chain allow you to keep tabs on your order so, if it's stuck at Entry, Brownell's AU can't do much about it.
One very positive experience I had was regarding a mount that was listed on the US site but not the AU site. I emailed a query to Brownells AU, received a response within a couple of hours that the part would be on the Australian site by that afternoon and it was.
So, in summary, if you want a part/accessory that is not readily available in Australia, and don't want to navigate the minefield of US State Department export restrictions, give Brownells AU a go.

It is so dissapointing to know that the firearm industry in Australia is extremely behind in the customisation department. For those that do eish to customise their handguns, they have had extremely limited options, thats why i support Brownells Australia no matter what!

All the way through the process of searching products and even on the checkout/payment page, it stated 'FREE SHIPPING'. So I paid and got the payment email back now saying that shipping will be calculated and I will receive another email about that. I rang them but couldn't get through and emailed them to cancel the order. Rang my bank the next day to block my card and etc.
Got 6 emails from Brownells today about the goods being shipped and thank you etc and the amount charged against my credit card, was an extra 160% for shipping, and extra US$290 (>A$428) for a maybe 3kg parcel with 3 items, and shipped by land and sea transport. The bank says they can't stop it as the date was before I blocked the card, even though the withdrawal had not appeared on my account when I rang them…
I bought the items as they were a good saving on Au prices and now I have been ripped for way more and I await my phone call to them to see what they will do… Brownells are giving false impressions on shipping and charge a lot more than it would cost to go airmail. I can only hope they cancel the order and return the money as I'm a long term disabled Vet pensioner and old bloke. I'm preparing the paperwork to submit a consumer complaint in the US, depending what Brownells does next in regards to cancelling/refund of the order. Total cost =A$698… Cost of the actual goods = A$269. Absolutely disgraceful from Brownells

It is now 6/04/2019
The order was placed14/01/2019. cost$17.47
Brownells Au do not answer their phone and sent me an Email message saying that my order was on a back order and that the USA supplier is a mum and dad outfit and very slow on deliveries.
I have canceled my order with them and asked for a return of my money.
Guess what no response from Brownells.
Looks like I have lost my money so will try to get a refund from Visa for a non delivery.

No service whatsoever. Glacial would describe everything about my purchase except the taking of my money. Website said 10 days for delivery- it took 52. There was no communication from Brownells.com.au and they did not reply to any of my emails.
Purchase at your own risk!

$19 US becomes $84 AUD by the time it gets here.
The service defies description.
Brownells Australia appears to be nothing more than a drop-shipper – and a very, very expensive and inefficient one at that.
Absolutely nothing to recommend whatsoever.
Did I mention, inefficient and expensive?

The Australian store orders from the US and claims 10 days delivery for parts not available locally. What actually happened is that the US order was only placed 10 days later. I'm over 4 weeks waiting now and the order is stuck with Australian Customs (apparently). I'm only buying reloading gear.
Really poor service and it seems that Aussie customers are seeing the same poor service as US customers (look at Brownells.com reviews). I'll never use them again. I would have had my parts from China faster. Any other Australian supplier would have delivered already.
