Stayed at the royal hotel in Scarborough ! A total dump the room was awful ! Sink was blocked . door lock was broken. Filthy window with a brick wall view Asked to move rooms was told Quite abruptly nothing available and I booked a standard double and the room is standard double. If you dossing on a drunk break then fine if you want a decent night sleep in a nice hotel don鈥檛 bother going here ! The only other thing that let this place down was Norman Bates wasn鈥檛 there with his mother

Stayed at the Clifton Scarborough. Very shabby. Some areas dirty. paint peeling, etc. mix of helpful and unhelpful staff. I'd avoid.

hotel lovely, staff running around doing two jobs at once trying to run reception and the bar at same time, not acceptable. Some residents waiting over 20 minutes at the bar and walking out to nearby pub! rooms brilliant but out side windows were really dirty. over all will stay again but needs re arrangement.

Illegal immigrants are rife in Britannia hotels, I for one will never stay in one again.
They are part of a human trafficking ring of potential terrorists. Along with RNLI and the U.K. BORDER FORCE

We stayed at prince of wales in southport a couple of weeks ago I have to say our stay was great our room was large clean and airy but must add a little decor wise we was greeted by a lady called Emma on reception who i have to say was the most pleasant friendly helpful member of staff throughout our stay and would like to add the hotel wouldn't be the same without her we cant wait to go back

I am afraid to say I concur with the other negative comments. Tired, shabby and dirty. I will never knowingly give my custom to this business again. If this business survives this pandemic then anyone can. A disgrace.

Absolutely disgusted. We stayed at The Carrington. Revolting place. Carpets taped together, wall paper and paint peeling off. Filthy room, informed it was double checked. The only difference was a dead fly had appeared. Cobwebs, sockets and curtains falling off walls, dirty carpets, unusable bath and shower due to filth/poor maintenance. Possible vomit on the side of the bed and wall. Towels are basically cheese cloth, no soap/body wash. No fresh towels/ cups offered. Car park is constantly blocked. No silencers on doors and no closing time in the garden. Customer queries online/ internally are not addressed. No service with a smile.
Utter shame, as location wise its near a quiet beach and town.

After taking the issue up with the hotel and Britannia customer service and being met with total ignorance. I would advice anyone to AVOID using this company. I couldnt be paid to stay here, completely ruined our holiday.

I've Stopped at many Hotels from Britannia hotel,
The Worst hotel would have been The North Stafford Hotel, that was only because I got stuck in the lift but it was a beautiful hotel. I Stayed in April 2017

The Best Hotel would've been the Airport Inn, Staff are friendly and the hotel is warm, cosy and comfortable. Everything you need for a relaxing night before my early morning flight to Reus. There was a Bar with everything you need and YOU'RE ALLOWED TO TAKE DRINKS BACK TO YOUR ROOMS!!!!!!! With Convinient Parking and 24 hour reception, staff were waiting when we arrivied at the hotel: 7PM, and when we departed for the Airport at 4AM. The Airport Inn Provides everything you need for a relaxing night before your flight the next morning. The Staff are brilliant I Can't explain how much I loved that hotel!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is basically a hotel review but when booked the Airport Inn, Britannia Hotels were Fantastic and Kept us updated on our Booking, and told us about offers and gave us a 60% discount which we used for a weekend away in London Hampstead Hotel!

They were Fantastic!!!!! Can't fault it !!!!!

Thank you Britannia Hotel

Birmingham Britannia Hotel is a horrible, dirty ran down hell hole. Walls in room had holes and marks everywhere. Double bed was 2 singles pushed together with rock hard matresses that you could feel every spring through. Bathroom had smashed tiles and smashed taps that had been very badly glued togther. Dripping tap in bath had clearly been like it for months as it had worn the enemal away on the bath. No shower gel in dispenser. Breakfast was terrible, cheap nasty produce mostly cooked in deep fat fryer that tasted of old fat. No one on reception to complain to on checkout and further email complaint totally ignored. Terrible. I wouldn't house my dog here.

The Britannia Hotel Group if I can make a buck then nothing is off the table. The Covid-19 pandemic brings to the fore just exactly how much contempt they have always had for their staff. Cannon fodder, pay the absolute bare minimum they can get away with then sack them all when their profits margins take a hit. Strange really, the govement had already said it would pay 80% wages if companies retained staff. Oh, hold on, perhaps it was the thought that they might get taken to court for redundancy pay from all the staff who had served over 2 years that made them reconsider thier sack now re-hire later attitude.

I wrote this email to the CEO, Mr. Langsam:
Dear Mr. Langsam,
Scotland is high on my list as a destination once the corona crisis will be over and we all will get through this in good health.
On TV I saw what happened to staff in one of your hotels and I'm also aware of the lame explanation that was offered after the public outcry.
Even though I'm one potential customer only, I would like you to know that I will make sure that none of my money is going to any hotel that is part of your company.
I think you should be ashamed that anything like this is possible under your term as CEO.

With kind regards

After the completely reprehensible treatment of staff members at their Coylumbridge hotel (near Aviemore), I shall never patronise that or any other Britannia hotel again and I trust others will take the same line also.To terminate contracts without any notice and force them out of their accommodation and onto the street – making them homeless!! – is unbelievably callous and inhumane, especially when the company is owned by one of the UK's 500 richest men – Alex Langsam.

Disgusting sacking staff because of Covid 19 and turfing onto the street out of hotel accommodation with under 24hrs notice will never stay in Britannia Hotels again. The government is even underwriting 80% of salaries what a dreadful hotel chain.

I am not sure if this review is an "administrative error" or not……

,

Head Office claims the letter dismissing and making staff immediately homeless was sent in error!! Who are they fooling "sent in error" so let the company be warned that in future, if we survive this virus, there will be a boycott of all Britannia Hotels and especially the Coylumbridge Aviemore Hotel combined with black listing the chain as an employer. An error of this magnitude does have consequences.

Used to stay at the Coylumbridge when it was run by a proper hotel chain but not any more now it has been taken over by these mercenaries.
Truly hope this bunch of scum go bankrupt as soon as possible and no-one ever stays in their filth ridden accommodation ever again.
Disgusting and why do we have to give one star – this lot are absolute zero!

These horrible people have no place in Scotland's hospitality industry. My thoughts are with the staff who not only lost their job but also a roof over their head. No doubt Britannia bosses are warm, cosy and financially secure in their Caribbean tax havens!
