Living in a Common space has been better than I could have imagined. The space is fantastic, the staff are helpful and kind, I literally have no complaints, this is totally the way to do urban living in 2020. As a student, I was worried initially about commuting to campus or working at home, but I never expected I'd actually prefer to complete my work at home, in my Common room! Thank you Common!

Due to new circumstances with Covid, tours and onboarding with Common is different and as expected some bumps though overall a good experience joining the Common community. Lissette and Robert were very helpful with any questions in regards to lease and application completion. Once completed, the move-in was seamless followed up with a great welcoming call with Brooke.

Otherwise, once moved in, there has been some minor issues in regards to household shared products not being replenished in a timely manor, as well as the quality of the products. Another concern, now that everyone is working from home (we have 13 people in our suite), is our wifi strength is weak and told there is no possible solution though we are paying for business grade resulting in poor quality calls while in class/meetings.

Finally, I recommend Common for the great opportunity to meet new people and feel apart of a fun and sweet community. Absolutely adore my roommates and nice to make new friends from different walks of life and ambitions.

This was my first experience renting an apartment on my own. I lived here for about two years, and overall I have nothing negative to say. Any time I had an issue, which was very rarely, they were on top of it. And moving in was very easy. I think I moved in about 24 hours after sending in my application. They also have staff that keeps the building and common areas clean, and the events they have for the building are really fun (even for an introvert like me). I鈥檇 definitely recommend anyone checking this place out. Especially if you鈥檙e a young professional who needs something affordable, clean, in a central location, and cares about their privacy but also enjoys the option to get to know their neighbors (which can be pretty difficult to do in a bigger city.)

This company took over the management of the apartment complex that I live at- Stella in Marina Del Rey. So far, they have no apartment manager, its dirtier in the elevators and hallways, they violate LA County and City law, and worst of all you can't talk to a person here about rent. You have to do everything online via Zoom or Skype. Its not customer friendly at all. I give 1 star. They also are advertising that they support healthcare professionals such as myself but this a sham. Shame on them for the exploitation.

The best thing about the Edge by Common is definitely the staff. They are people who actually care about their jobs and the residents! I had an urgent issue come up over a weekend and the response and actions taken by Lou were amazing. He's awesome!

Common not only has great pricing and amenities, they also have amazing customer service. Every step of the way I have had someone who is willing and ready to communicate with me. They have given me many financial incentives as well which make it lucrative for a rental company. I will definitely continue my stay here past my lease.

Common recently took over the management of our apartment complex. We had a service issue that hadn't been resolved for several months (and after several attempts) under the prior management. Common promptly dispatched a tech who fixed our issue on his first visit. He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We are thrilled to have a top-notch maintenance team managing our property. Thanks, Common Tech Team!

I am current a resident of Common Summit and just went through the process of renewing my lease. I will admit that I was not looking forward to this process given my prior experiences with other leasing companies. It also was not an ideal time for me as this occurred in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth this process went and how timely the the leasing team was with their responses. All of my questions were answered and there were no surprises. Completing the leasing documents was also an easy process as everything was processed online which was very convenient considering the environment we are living in today. Overall, I had a great experience in working with the renewals manager from Common and would recommend it to anyone who is interested.

Living at Common for a year was an awesome experience in terms of the easy check-in/check-out process, the amenities, and the super helpful, friendly, & quick to respond staff. Tom made the leasing process extremely easy and you can tell that a lot of thought was put in by the team overall with all of the events they hosted and making sure to keep its members updated on any building maintenance issues, etc. Props to the team for all of their hard work!

I've lived at Common on Madison for 7 months now, and it's been a very positive experience. The most important aspect for me was that when I DID have an issue and reached out about it, they responded quickly and fixed the issue. I've heard horror stories from friends about places they've lived, so to me that means a lot when you feel like they have your back.

The building is in a nice location and the room (though small) is well-designed and feels bright and open. The high ceilings make a big difference. I'm planning to renew my lease.

I have lived in one of the NYC buildings for several months now.

Pros:
– BEAUTIFUL apartment, fully furnished and clearly custom designed
– Shared spaces are well designed too (game room, backyard, etc)
– Events are varied, fun, and usually free. Common even expensed an event I hosted in my building. Also with the current COVID pandemic, they moved the events online which has been awesome
– I like my roomies, but it's always a gamble when you're moving in with people you don't know. I got lucky, we all get along and everyone is neat (for the most part haha)
– The included weekly cleanings are a game changer

Cons:
– Expensive. But, you are paying for convenience and piece of mind so there's that
– My biggest qualm with Common is that the quality of their response to issues has been SEVERELY lacking in my experience. When I first moved in, my shower only produced cool or cold water. I immediately raised the issue but the site maintenance team could not fix it, even though they came to look at it multiple times. One time they tracked mud into the apartment that I had to clean up. I had to keep following up on the ticket and would get a generic "we're working on it" response. All the while unable to take a hot shower, thank goodness it was the summer. After a few weeks, I was LIVID and was close to reporting the issue to 311. Instead I went directly to the Experience Managers, who quickly hopped on a call with me and were able to send a plumber. This entire process took almost a month. Common (to their credit I guess) provided a small discount to that month's rent, about 20% off. I expressed that I was not sure that this was a fair exchange for the frustration I experienced, but they let me know that that was all they could do
– On my move-in day, none of the lights in my room worked. I panicked and called the emergency support line and spoke to a representative that took down all the information, and then said "Ok we'll get back to you in 3-5 business days." I was like what. this is kind of urgent. But after I got off the phone with her, I realized I should have checked the fuse box first and voila, that was the issue lol. But if that hadn't been the issue, I guess I would have had no lights for a few days
– 4/5 bedrooms in my unit have had small to severe leaks, often reoccurring even after maintenance fixed them
– The maintenance team has entered my bedroom without my consent, to install flaps on the backs of each door. Apparently this was due to one of my roomies requesting it, but they did not request it in every room and I would have liked to know that someone was entering my private space while I was at work. Though it seems that this kind of thing doesn't happen anymore, as Common seems to send out notices when they need to enter the suites.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that after all this, Common got a new maintenance team for our building, and they have been good so far. My overall experience with Common has been mixed to say the least, and I'm still pretty salty about the whole shower thing. But it seems like they learned and are trying to do better.

Common took over halfway through my lease and it was a great transition! They鈥檙e super quick/friendly with responses and on top of anything that goes on. The hosted events are always varied in type of activity and such a fun, unique way to meet people in a new city and try new things. The complex is always very clean and Common Anderson is in the heart of everything in Capitol Hill- 8+ grocery stores within walking distance, tons of restaurants/cafes/bars/shopping, access to great parks and a safe location.

Moving in with Common was perfect for me. Everything is all inclusive, down to toiletries and a maid. They provide you with resources and check in with you frequently, also they have fast and responsive customer service. City life is hard to adjust to if you鈥檙e not use to the city and Common made everything so simple and comfortable. Common is affordable but feels luxurious, and I鈥檝e already highly recommended it to my friends so I would also recommend it to anyone reading this review!

During COVID-19 and stay at home orders, Common's Virtual Events have been a great way to meet people online, learn new skills and generally keep active. I really appreciate the experience managers for finding and organizing these activities to keep members engaged during this unprecedented time.

Living in a Common house during the coronavirus crisis has been very beneficial to me. They are keeping us busy by organizing a number of online classes and events and keeping us busy. The units are cozy and nice for a single person. They also respond to issues real quick and are good at responding to emails.
