I was originally drawn to clutter because of the convenience and pricing – do not be fooled. Below is a summary of the problems we encountered.
– It took their movers 9.5 hours to move out of our tiny NYC apartment in which 85% of the items had been packed ourselves.
– I left a few appiances (kitchen aid, toaster etc….)for the movers to pack as I would assume they would be professionals. The mover tossed all of my appliances into the box upsidown, sideways without a single piece of bubble wrap. After mentioning my concern i was met with an eye roll and refusal to pack it properly. I took everything out of the box and re-wrapped it myself.
– Be aware that they will upgrade your storage plan probably costing you a few hundred extra a month
– They charge you $25 to pick the day you want your items to be returned!
– I had spoken to Clutter before my appointment and they assured me that they will prorate if i have my items delivered a few days into the next month. After my awful move I emailed with someone named Sirena who informed me that clutter doesn't prorate! I was furious and asked if they can listen to the recording where I was promised this prorate and was told by Sirena this was not possible. I thankfully had the idea to call and speak to someone else who told me that 2 weeks prior they changed their policy and that rest assured they can go back and listen to the recording where I was promised the prorate. Clearly Clutter (and Sirena) are unethical and liars.
– I thought I was done with Clutter once i had scheduled a move in date but no! Clutter refused to deliver items to my building (I was told of this 3 days before I was moving in) citing there could potentially be someone with Covid in the building. This is a 400 unit NYC apartment building and moving companies are an essential service! They were holding our stuff hostage and only until I reached out to the COO on LinkedIn did this get resolved.
THIS COMPANY IS ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU WILL SAVE IT IS NOT WORTH IT. BE WEARY OF SIRENA IF YOU ARE ALREADY STUCK WITH THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY.

Don't even think about using them.
Just find somebody else just anyone.
Bad customer service
Bad leadership
Bad lead drivers
Late arrival for pick ups
Cancellation of requests on due time
Lot's fees conditions and terms
Needs to improve a lot maybe changing old recruiting team staff would make it a better they only hired people inferior to them so they can keep their jobs like it is.
,
First, customer service misled me about major terms and conditions, did not think it was important to tell me about hidden cancellation fees, and told me their movers don't disassemble furniture / break down furniture for the move after telling me they do disassemble just two weeks earlier.
Then customer service misled me about the time window that the movers would show up. Not only did they not show up within the time window, they cancelled on me after having me wait hours after the scheduled window. All of this was even though I spoke with customer service several times before the pick up to stress how important it was for me to vacate my building by the end of the pick up date day. Then they tried to reschedule me to a week later and had the audacity to tell me that i might still get charged a cancellation fee.
This was the WORST EXPERIENCE as customer that i have ever had in my 26 years of living on this planet. It can't begin to express how incredibly awful my experience with Clutter was.
Everyone that has a similar experience with Clutter should make a consumer complaint to the US Government – i think this is a systematic failure with the company and it seems like a lot of folks have had similar experiences.

I was looking around for storage units in NYC to store some furniture from an apartment for a few months while it got renovated. Because of the low price and cute website, I decided to go with Clutter. Little did I know, they do not store your items into your own storage unit. Your belongings are wrapped up in saran wrap, bar coded, then placed into a huge warehouse along with hundreds or thousands of other customers' belongings!
The geniuses who helped packed my belongings at the apartment didn't bar code some items. When I flew from LA to NY to make the apartment habitable again after the renovation was completed, I only had one full day to do it. The night I landed in NY, I received a voicemail from Clutter saying they can't make the delivery of my items tomorrow and have to reschedule. I tried calling them and couldn't reach anyone until the next morning. They weren't able to find all of my items, that's why they wanted to reschedule. I literally flew to NY with just one day to do this then had my flight the day after, rescheduling wasn't an option. Luckily, Clutter "found" all my items and was able to deliver it. However, they were missing about half of my items like a bed frame, Apple TV, dining table, chairs, lamps, rugs, and a whole bunch of other furnishings!!! I ended spending A LOT time and money buying everything back for the apartment. On top of that, I was back in LA so I kept having to pester the apartment superintendent to help me with deliveries. The worst was with a bed frame because the boxes were huge. He was so kind to help me bring them up the apartment and let a handyman from Task Rabbit assemble it. I also kept pestering guests at the apartment to help with deliveries and setting things up.
I ended up filing a claim with Clutter to get compensation for losing all my belongings. THAT WAS ANOTHER HEADACHE.
Sometime after that whole fiasco in NY, Clutter reached out to tell me they found some of my items. I confirmed they were all mine but had no use for most of them since I had already replaced everything. There were a few items I wanted but they wanted to charge me for the delivery after they lost it in the first place. I just can't believe their audacity. I had to go back and forth over email and countless phone calls with regular customer services reps and managers to finally to get them to deliver it to the apartment for no charge. Why in the hell would I pay for delivery when they lost to begin with? They had their chance to deliver it the first time.
They also blocked me on social media because I would caution people against using their service. I hope my voice gets heard and will help save one least person from this incompetent company.
**Short version: RUN AWAY FROM CLUTTER AND STORE YOUR ITEMS IN A TRADITIONAL STORAGE UNIT BECAUSE CLUTTER WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR BELONGINGS AND PROVIDE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. YOU WILL WASTE A LOT OF TIME AND ENERGY DEALING WITH THEM. RUN!!!

I have never written a negative review or filed a complaint with any agency regarding a business; however, this experience was beyond anything I could have imagined. When Clutter came to pick up my items almost 2 years ago, they did an excellent job. I was so impressed I referred several people to them. I requested certain items a few times and they delivered them on time and without any problems.
In January 2020 I requested that all of my belongings be returned to me. One of the two men that delivered the items went from being very kind and helpful to extremely rude and somewhat abusive within a moments time. I asked them to place the boxes against a wall with the labels showing so I would know what was in each box. Obviously, that was too much to ask as there were boxes everywhere.
He was going to leave my Chattam & Wells ($6000 to replace) mattress, box spring and frame against the wall which was wrapped in heavy duty plastic. I asked him to please place them on the frame for me and I thought he was going to lose it, telling me they do not do that. Seriously? I am a disabled senior.
When they left, the first thing I wanted to do was make the bed. I was mortified to find dust and filth covering the entire mattress as well as black marks and holes in the box spring, which they packed. The brand-new carpet in the bedroom was tracked with black footprints, several collector items were broken, the armoire was majorly scratched and the crown molding was broken ($2000 to replace). An irreplaceable Antique Glass and Metal Industrial Pendant Light Fixtures 24 x 24, (from, I think, The Brown Derby or somewhere similar no longer in business) which they packed was destroyed. Inside of probably 25% of the sealed boxes was disgusting dust and filth. The exterior of all the boxes were covered in filth. Among other items, I am missing a steam cleaner which they said was delivered and which was not, or I guess the steam cleaner decided to walk out of my place on its own.
Clutter had/has no regard for my belongings, neglected to provide clean, safe storage and hires incompetent people with a complete lack of customer service.
For all of this I was reimbursed $1106 which is completely unacceptable as this was due to their negligence and substandard storage facility.
