Bought engine to an 05 Tahoe and purchased the extra 5 yr warranty totaling around$1400! Called when after 2 months of getting engine installed I heard, knocking and was told they do,nothing about noises so after it broke down I sent proof of a faulty engine from certified mechanic as requested. I still have not received a phine call in return only a couple times were my emails responded to! I have been, more than, patient seeing as its been years I have waited! I was with no car for a long while and eventually just ended up buying another engine elsewhere! Horrible customer service worse experience ever!!

CARMONKEYS.com and lowmileageparts.com – same company, same scam artists, and same bs from them… DONT BUY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT SALVAGED PARTS!!!
ALL WILL HAVE THE same problem with lowmileageparts.com low mileage parts is not what they sell… They sell SALVAGED NON-TESTED parts — Your engine pictures are almost exactly like mine. – the engine looks rusted and looks like it has not been run in 10 plus years. I am hoping that more people will come forward with complaints against this company and I am certain that we all could get a class action lawsuit against this company and stop them from fraudulently selling salvaged non tested auto parts as supposedly low mileage parts – which is all a front — to their scamming operation… Take a look at my complaint filed – Report #1452728 Jul 21 2018 12:09 PM and you will see that I have also been a victim of their unethical, fraudulent business practices.. They must be stopped!! — https://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/lowmileagepartscom/wyckoff-nj-07481/lowmileagepartscom-wwwlowmileagepartscom-wwwcarmonkeyscom-carmonkeyscom-jason-hill-1452728
UPDATE – I successfully had my money returned back to me from my credit card company and these fraudulent unethical scammers were charged back the FULL AMOUNT I was charged by them for them sending me a not as ordered non tested salvage engine…..
BE FOREWARNED TO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY — THEY HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED 76 + unresolved complaints and AN ALERT ON THEIR BBB REPORT OUT OF NJ – THAT STATES —
ALERT BBB has received multiple reports from consumers that CarMonkeys.com is taking orders and processing payments, but delivering faulty merchandise and not providing replacements or refunds…. ( might as well add lowmileageparts.com to this alert!! lol…) I hope this information provided helps prevent anymore people from falling prey to these unethical, rude, lying, scam artists trying to sell SALVAGE auto parts as used auto parts AND to not honor their written guarantees on the salvage items they send to honest paying customers… THEY MUST BE STOPPED

I contacted the BBB and the Department of Consumer Affairs(2 different states), and they have refused to respond to either. So, I am now down the almost 1k bill for the motor, plus warranty, that i bought from them. On top of the almost 2k i paid to have the motor professionally installed.

I paid 1280$ for an engine for an old truck i have on 1/18/19 and didn't receive it until 2/1/19 with bare minimum tracking information. When it arrived at my house it had rust and i realized it was missing the exhaust manifolds and the timing belt cover which is a big deal not to mention i will jave to drop another 1000$ just to get it running, so i called carmonkeys and they said "Its a thirty year old engine what do you expect" I said i expected to get everything i paid for! They said the best they can do is refund my money but I would have to pay a 200$ shipping fee + another 200$ for a restock fee. Definitely will NOT recommend ever!

Wow! In reading the other reviews, it sounds like people were their own worst enemies and didn't follow their simple procedures. Don't get fooled by their short sighted reviews. They treated me perfectly!!
I was looking for a very hard to find engine for my Land Rover when I was referred to CarMonkeys. I am so happy that they took the time to help me get just what I needed. We had been emailing back and forth, but I decided to give them a call. They were very patient in making certain that I got exactly what I needed. I was without my vehicle so they offered to ship it directly to my mechanic as well. This was a life saver for me. It's nice to know that they quality test each unit before shipping and even send pictures of your shipment so you can see their quality! From the time I ordered it, until my mechanic received it was only a few days. My Rover was back on the road within a matter of days and it's running amazing! A week after my vehicle was finished, they followed up with me and wanted to make sure that everything went well. I could not be happier.

Bought an engine ran for 1 hour. Installer had an issue on his end he fixed his issue. Had a leaky head gasket non related to the other issue. Blames the mechanic and washes his hands of all warranty. Total joke of a company. Pay the extra money and save the headaches

Ordered a transmission for 2008 Ford ranger, my shop threw it in for me. It works great!!! Zero issues with it so far. My only concerns were the shipping was late and the trans. came a bit dirty and rusted. But other than that I am very very pleased with my order.

Website looks professional, but customer service extremely poor.

Shipping was a little slow and confirmation was difficult to get, but after emailing and leaving a message, I was called back with info and tracking # was sent. To be fair I ordered this the week of Independence Day and they gave their employees the week off to be with family (and it wasn't noted on the website). Part took just under 2 weeks to arrive but was worth the wait for the price! Thank you Car-Monkeys! AS STATED GOOD USED PARTS WITH A 5 YEAR WARRANTY! Thanks again Max Henderson for contacting me and following up on my order!

We purchased a rear axle for our rodeo at the end of May. We received it promptly. However, after discovering that the axle was the wrong one, we contacted car monkey to remedy the problem. 6 weeks later, we are still fighting to even get replies from them. We have emailed several times in addition to calling many times. We consistently are given the run around. We are so frustrated as this has put us several weeks behind schedule getting the vehicle running. So fed up with this battle! Do NOT buy from them!

Their claims on the site is bogus plus having one of their customers service representative talk to me like I was an idiot. I was told the exhaust manifolds wouldn't come with the engine if the catalytic converters couldn't be removed. The last i checked there are no catalytic converters between the manifolds and turbo on a 7.3 powerstroke. In turn it cost me about 900 dollars move than it should have to buy an engine from them and put it in.

Refurbishing a '94 Isuzu Trooper. Purchased a rebuilt engine from these gonifs. After installation, 2 of the 12 valve lifters were inoperable, costing $2,600 to repair. Both refurbishing company, and the mechanic, have gotten nowhere with Kevin Harrison for reimbursement. Next step: Get lawyer involved as I will not stand for thievery. Kevin- do the right thing, I will immediately revise this review. There it is.

I purchased a transmission for my 4 wheel drive Durango. What clinched it for me was their 12 month, 30 day refund, guarantee. The transmission arrived in good time, my mechanic put it in, whoops, it had problems. I called car monkeys and the very next day they shipped me a replacement. It arrived in 3 days and I couldn't be more pleased. It works perfectly. My Durango hasn't run this smooth in years. I highly recommend them. They stand behind their product and honor their promises.

So, i posted a review of what happened and (finally) carmonkeys responded. Ill definitely add a star cause at least they did, and they seem to actually want to try and help now. I bought a transmission from them, and (at first) a rep said they werent going to help me for my previous review, which i stated doesnt make sense, cause if anything he should want to try and make it better. Well, another rep responded on this site saying theyd like to help, so ill definitely at least give them 2-3/5 for better customer support
However, i still havent gotten either my transmission or the $700, so there is still that. Hopefully everything will be sorted out

Restoring a Toyota Avalon, I bought an engine from carmonkeys. Seemed leggit since they "test" their engines prior to shipping as the web site says. Also the 5 year gaurantee added creditbility.
DON'T BE FOOLED!!!
After contacting them about an engine that was shipped to and installed by professional mechanics, the rep gave a list of conditions that had to be met for a gaurantee and for a defective product. Problem is, they made no conditions prior to the sale. The shipment came with only a packing list. Oh, if the engine is bad, they don't tell you that you have to pay for the return of the item, which could cost hundreds of dollars. Then they want you to prove that you have a bad engine by requiring a professional diagnosis, which can cost hundreds more if the mechanic has to go into the engine.
Just do yourself a favor and have the engine rebuilt or go to another vendor. It will cost less in the long run and you will avoid having to dealing with deplorables.

I was alittle worried after reading some of the reviews, but I will say this I read some reviews which stated they got a used part, well that is what this website sells. I called in and spoke to a younger sounding man named Max, he was very nice and explained what was being sold and the things I had to do, my mechanic had actually referred me to them as he ordered several parts from them and will be ordering from them again, the motor was put in and has been running fine now after 2 months, I will update if anything changes. But I have to say Max guided me in the right direction.

Worst customer service experience I've had buying a part online in my life. They committed to a day the part I ordered would be delivered "at the latest." When it didn't get there, I called in to get tracking information. It wasn't even on a truck yet. When I told the rep that was unacceptable and that I make sure my online reviews of my experience said as much, he told me he was cancelling my order and issuing a full refund because "it was in the best interest of the company" not to do business with someone who was threatening to post negative reviews online. I asked to speak with someone that might be able to accept my complaint and he told me he's the "manager, so there's nobody above him for me to talk to." After summarizing that they were refusing to do business with me despite already paying for the product and having a sales contract in place before I make my submission to the Better Business Bureau, he puts me on hold for ten minutes. Comes back on and shortly says your order is estimated to be there no earlier than next Monday (one week after they had originally told me it would be here at the latest). Awesome. Don't deal with this place. It's a rinky dink parts shop in New Jersey masquerading as an online parts giant. Their stock trades publicly for $0.02/share over-the-counter. Go to Autozone.

I ordered a transmission which was supposed to be knew. It was ditry/filthy, look like they just pulled it out of a car and put it on a pallet and sent it to me. I tried to send it back they refused it. Lies to my credit card company about what condition it was in and told them they sell all used parts etc. So now I'm stuck with a $1700 payment and they refused to except it through R&L.the carrier company they sent it through the bill was $695 just to ship it back. And I refused to pay for an item that I did not want. The are Frauds big time. I warn you if you know what's best. STAY AWAY

I wish I would have seen these reviews before I dealt with the company. Company sent a broken transmission. Transmission acted up on day 1 and broke on day 2 Cost $500.00 to have the transmission put in and another $250.00 to have it dropped and sent back. Yes they offered to send me another transmission, but I could see where it was going. Didn't want to take the risk of the same process happening. Had to pay $287.00 to ship it back to them and then had to pay a 20% restocking fee. Company doesn't want to take ownership and they have an answer for everything. I will cut my losses and chunk it up to another poor decision. Thanks Car Monkeys for excellent customer service.

Order goes through, they get their money and never show the order online or ship. Kevin who seems to be the only employee gives vague answers, and when you threaten to cancel transaction with your bank because a week has gone by and you have no proof of order, he gets nasty.
