Absolutely the best customer service EVER! Joe is so very professional, pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable about any of the products. Never had such a wonderful "shopping experience". Joe was very respectful of the Covid restrictions and we did a click and collect of my telescope. What was so extraspecial – he made a brilliant video of how to set it up as we wouldn't be able to with the virus. Loved his mask! What an incredible person and you can ask any question – whether it be balantly obvious (Joe is very patient and clear in his explanations) or mind boggling – he knows the answers. He gives you the confidence by having such a positive attitude that you will certainly be coming back for more to get all the fun doo dads that can make the night sky really sparkle. Thank you for the most wonderful sevice and whenever I can, I will always mention your shop! DIOLCH YN FAWR JOE!!!

Joe was very helpful in dealing with my inquiries. He even made a couple of very smart little videos to demonstrate the answer to my questions.

I phoned them at 3PM and ordered a new lens. I tried to pay online, but it ended up quicker over the phone. This took a little while, but they went out of their way to get it despatched and I was delighted to receive it the next morning.

I lost the instructions for my new telescope so i phoned and spoke to joe. He was very helpful. Although he couldn't find the exact one for me he sent me two pdf's and a link for a YouTube video. I managed to put the telescope together in under an hour. I'm thankful for all his help.

Great service from the friendly team. We had a problem with an item purchased through no fault of theirs and they dealt with it excellently and very fast and even reimbursed our postage costs. Very friendly, very helpful and would highly recommend.

Frankly, I'm more than a little disappointed with this company. Prior to purchase, I contacted them to confirm the details of a camera they had listed on eBay (Item description: Seller Refurbished, Open box item, Good as New) – Having done so, I quickly received a message from a lady called Helen. She assured me the camera was factory sealed and that it came complete with a 2鈥憏ear warranty. Happy with this information, I proceeded to purchase and some days later, the camera duly arrived.

However, instead of the factory sealed camera that I was promised, what they actually sent was an obviously used, dusty and damaged item. The base of the camera was scratched and the door covering the battery compartment was clearly damaged and dislodged. In addition to this, all of the included accessories were open and simply dropped in the bottom of box, with no attempt being made to wrap or protect them. Assuming this was a mistake on their part, I immediately contacted Carmarthen Cameras to let them know the state of the camera and the fact that it was being returned.

Sadly, they didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge my message or bother to explain why the camera I received was in such poor condition. To add insult to injury, neither did they refund my payment until after I had contacted them again. My refund request was made a full two days after the camera had been returned. Strangely at this point, they then asked for postage tracking details and also wanted to know exactly what was wrong with their eBay listing (Item description: Seller Refurbished, Open box item, Good as New)

My future purchases will continue to come from businesses that I know and trust. After this recent unhappy experience, I don't see myself approaching Carmarthen Cameras again anytime soon!

Update: When I left negative eBay feedback for them, this was swiftly removed. I queried the removal with eBay and received an apology. I was told that my negative feedback was removed in error. However, I was also told their system does not allow feedback to be reinstated once removed.

eBay feedback: They told me camera was Brand New/Factory Sealed (It was VERY obviously USED)

Over the last 2 months or so I have purchased a lens and 2 camera bags from Carmarthen Cameras.
The service received is exemplary, the after sales help I needed was first class and the shop is an absolutely fantastic place to visit for any photographer.
I would highly recommend them especially Joe and Helen who have been brilliant.

That didn't happen so I opened live chat.

Employee stated offer had been withdrawn. I could clearly see it on the site, so I asked for it to be honoured.
He then instructed me to refresh my browser, because the offer was not available.

Terrible experience. Staff sloppy and never ring back about an order. Having spent nearly 拢1,000 on a telescope and camera, which we can鈥檛 use, you would think the part we need to connect the camera to the telescope would be a priority, not to still be waiting for over a month.

Excellent service from this company, ordered an item via Amazon and Carmarthen cameras was the supplier and it arrived the next morning that鈥檚 incredible customer service will definitely use them again.

I wanted to buy a Nikon D3500 and everywhere had sold out after the Christmas period.

After a www search Carmarthen Cameras came up with the best price. As I required the camera within 5 days of going on holiday I phoned them (Joe) assured me my camera would arrive within a few days. I was nervous about it arriving on time but I had nothing to worry about. The camera arrived on time.

I can鈥檛 comment on the camera yet as I鈥檓 just in the stage of charging it

A competitive price for a manufacturer's original accessory, particularly when postage was included. Prompt email response to the order, including "Once your package ships we will send an email with a link to track your order".
The shipment email came but there was no tracking link. I emailed back to ask about this and did not receive the courtesy of a reply. When the item arrived several days later, admittedly properly packed and in satisfactory condition, it was apparent why no tracking link had been sent: postage was by a Royal Mail service which does not have any tracking.
All it would have taken was a simple email back to say that orders of this type are sent by a non-trackable service or even sorry, we made a mistake. Anyway, it's too late now and I would think very carefully before placing any future orders with a business that either can't or won't communicate properly.

I used to love this shop, great service and often had what I was after so I was a regular customer doing the right thing by shopping local. Now that they have moved to bigger premises things have changed along with the attitude of the staff, not only were they rude but I was also surprised at the lack of knowledge. It's almost like that was left behind at the old shop along with the charm, to cut a long story short I walked out in disbelief and empty handed. On my way down the road I'd called a friend to tell him what had happened, he laughed and siad that's exactly what happened to me, then he siad they won't be getting my money anymore. The same goes for me, shopping elsewhere from now. Shame shame shame.

Very friendly and helpful until you have a problem and then truly appalling.
Spent 拢3k on anew camera, experienced a fault after a few weeks promised it would be fixed and back from Olympus in less than a week, now into week two and no idea when it will be back and, despite going to the store, they are not interested!
Plenty of other really good, online, retailers out there, buy elsewhere.

I bought a lens recently through Ebay and it was meant to be delivered to my local Argos. Somehow, the delivery company returned it to the shop. Tim from Carmarthen cameras quickly sorted it out and sent the lens by Royal Mail Special Delivery – Saturday delivery as I was away in Carlisle. To say I'm impressed with the service would be an understatement. 5 stars is not enough, A+++++++++++++++++

Great friendly company with very knowledgeable staff. Their new premises is very impressive and have the biggest display around.

So far, I've bought a mobile gimbal, 11mm f4 Irix lens and a Nikon Z6 + 24-70mm lens from them. Their prices are no more and no less than other camera dealers (i.e. Wexphoto, Clifton, Jessops, etc.) but for me the main reason for choosing Carmarthen is they offer 12 months interest free credit via V12 Finance, which allows me to spread the cost of the equipment over a year.

I've had no complaints and as long as they continue to offer this level of service then I'd be happy to buy from them in the future.
