Concerning my experience with Car del Mar everything was ok, but as I had no events like collision or so I couldn't check them in such a situation. But I can write some words about Smile Rent di Maggiore – their local partner in Cagliari.
When we were colecting a car they told us we would pay about 8 Euro in case we would return the car dirty. So directly before returning it we vacuumed it inside and washed it so it looked like when we had got it two weeks before. In spite of this they found some dust on it (it was really a very little amount of it – we had just to drive there from our apartment – by a motorway). I have never experienced such a situation, though I have rented cars for many times. So it's an extra cost you may be sure you pay however the car will be returned clean or dirty.

I rented a car via internet CarDelMar and your partner at Teneriffe was Goldcar. I purchased insurance plus (almost full option) but Gold Car emploee told me that this insurance which I purchased is usless on Teneriffe and I have to buy a local one for 106 EUR otherwise in case of anything happenedd I will pay in cah for any damage and repair and nobody help me. If I do not purchase their insurance I have to leave a deposit of 2000 EUR. I did purchased this mega expensive insurance plus they chaerged me for full tank of fuel another 100EUR. When I returned the car with exactly half of tank of fuel I received a refund not for half which should be ca 50EUR but ca 36 EUR. I was threatned and cheated. Never ever with you and Goldcar!!!!!!

Great car at Europcar.

I used CarDelMar to find the best deal to rent a car in South Africa. I found a good price and made a reservation. Afterwards:
1) there were many problems to proceed with the credit card payment. it turns out they don't do a standard internet transaction, but charge the card via phone. I have previously blocked this option on my account and had to call my bank from abroad to make it possible to charge my card. I don't feel comfortable with such methods (plus I had to give my credit card's details over the phone)
2) I booked a car + an extra driver + with a return in an other city. I received a price which I accepted. In the end it turned out there are extra hidden costs – I had to cover these two costs separately, in their partner car rental. Not cool. The costs were significantly higher than I accepted.
3) their partner car rental (First Car Rental) – poor service and the worst car I ever received in class "C".

Not clear information from the desk about the place in the airport car park where the car was parked (level -1!).
Some confusion with the insurance.
Lack of a good raod map of Gran Canaria in the car.

The last time I used from goldcar company. When I booked the car on the website in CarDelMar was one price, but when I came to the airport to take a car I needed to pay extra money. That mean the price at the beginning was 25鈧? but the finnal was almost 250鈧? The best is that the rental was only for 3 days. I dont recomended therrible goldcar and the cardelmar website.

Car rental went without problems, friendly service in the middle of the night

I would like to rekommend CarDelMar as professionall partner in car rental. I had car for 2 weeks in 08.2014 and I was verry satisfied from suport of company and car. Full of gasoline, clean, no small broken parts, any problems. You can think only about holidays :).

In case of an accident or theft, the rent company, like i.e. Europcar doesn't matter about the conditions of agreement between customer and agent like CarDelMar.

The car that was rented had several defects – it had no car horn, its doors were squezing like hell, it had extremely used tyres, and while reaching 90km/h the whole car was shaking. I was afraid driving it faster.

CarDelMar is very professional company that cheaply rents you a car. The rental price includes insurance containing own share in it. It cooperates with well-known cars rental companies that also comply very well with their obligations.
Recently I was in Iceland, where in the company Hertz at the airport was waiting for me a well prepared car that I received quickly and without unnecessary formalities.
I am very happy with CarDelMar, as well as Hertz. I'll be definitely use this company in future and will be recommending it to my friends.

Never use Maggiore rental service. My car was broken and I had to take taxi fo 90 EUR to airport to take another one.
I left car with 3/4 fuel but I've got an invoice for 34 liters (over 1/2 !!!) + extra costs = almost 100 EUR for fuel…

Gold car rental had a problem accepting the agreement and purchase from Cardelmar. They did not have a car reserved and tried to force us to get a different and Pay more. Moreover They forced us to buy their insuarance although we bought All inclusive plus with Cardelmar saying that cardelmar does not give us any safety and They do not respekt It SO I had to pay additional 77Euro for a week for insuarance ! Caldemar only seems in internet that price is good and finally even if you buy All inclusive plus insuarance It is only yet another tool to get Money from you as local rentals do not care. We got a car only thanks to the fact I spoke spanish and spent 40 minutes discussing as They did not even wanted to Look at printed document from Cardelmar!
