I test drove it and all was fine. Paid 拢2,800 and drove home. Same day I was checking deeper found hole after cruise control lever, shame I didn't checked that… Paul James his name, promised to bring stamped service book following day, but he never showed up. After about 200 miles I was braking hard on motorway, massive squeak came from brakes,… drove to garage to find that brakes are worn 95% and disc heavily corroded and looked like someone was hitting them with hammer. I complained about that to seller but I didn't get reply from him. I was upset but needed car for new job and didn't know that I might have some rights, we talking about Sale of Goods Act 1979. Roughly about 2 months later remote started playing, couldn't open or close a car, or start – immobiliser issue. This failed after 4 months of my ownership. Tried many garages for help but been pointed to Subaru dealer so it went there. What came from their technicians was like shot in the head. List of issues, many hidden.
Engine management light has been wired into the oil pressure light and the cruise control light bulb has been removed to hide and engine management fault
That fault is P0134 O2 sensor fault open circuit bank 1 sensor 1 this would bring on the eml light but because of the way it has been wired this has disguised the fault.
Air con belt and tensioner are missing
Head gasket leaks oil N/S
battery clamp is missing
Knock from front suspension
Rear antiroll bar link need replacing
Inner cv gaiters leak oil due to the boots being held on with cable ties and not clips
Cat flange has worn thin but not blowing
that engine management light was trigger to ask for help from Consumer GAA. They navigated me through law and help with letters to the seller asking for repair or refund, but I didn't have any luck, so paid a fee and put him on Aylesbury county court. He never tried to resolve problem until the hearing on 25.2.2016 when he came 10 minutes before going in with question, if I want to do something about it…what a douche. We went in and basically what happened was quick route down the hill for him, he failed to read even letter from judge so he wasn't even prepared for court, he brought some invoices from Aylesbury Car Clinic(another dodgy garage) that they replaced engine in that car. When I asked where is the serial number of the engine they put in, he didn't know. You must let DVLA know if you do such a thing so I said that even V5C he gave me is invalid. That second judge just said that I'm going to receive full refund of him and he must collect the car himself by 10.3.2016. After hearing outside he pulled out service book, obviously not stamped with words: "You don't really need it anymore"
Long story I know but this is not the end. He collected car on 6.3.2016 sunday, paid cash and put the same car straight away on his website for sale 拢2,790 – good condition, service history, new MOT! ??? this car is dodgy, this seller even more, makes me wonder where he did get new MOT on Sunday without repairing it. Previous one without any advisories was from Aylesbury Car Company(for the record brakes failed after 400 miles from MOT being issued).
Spent money on new brakes, paid for recovery, diagnosis, another recovery, court fees,…
