I ordered my period boots from Joey on April 30th and received them in the mail on June 22.
They took a little over 6 weeks like he said and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Soft brown mule skin leather, beautiful stitching and period correct.
Glad I researched and found Caboots. If you want custom made boots this is the place to get them!
I am one happy cowboy!

Had to deal with Caboots for 5 months. After the first 2 1/2 months I was being promised that my boots would ship that week, and also put off with different excuses every time I contacted Caboots. Initially when I ordered the boots in April, Caboots told me my boots would be ready in 6-8 weeks. Just short of the 5 month mark in Mid September I finally told them that it was starting to upset me to have to chase down my order. They then stopped communicating. So I got Visa onto them for not providing and shipping my order. It's pathetic that I had to get Visa on them. Visa quickly –made them– give me all of my money back, every penny. A huge waste of time, and horrible customer service. Disappointed. Avoid

I just had to write and say thank goodness we found you! I have been on a quest to find good hand made boots made in Texas that are not made in Mexico and not fast fashion made in a Chinese or other overseas factory and not overly blingy, or cost a million dollars, and I found CABOOTS on line. A premium high-end brand that is all about a good fit and years of wear. I was a bit nervous at first ordering online but after talking to both Joey and Priscilla I can see that this family owned business does care about quality and their reputation. They talked with me several times over the phone before I had all my questions answered about style, quality and fit and they never pressured me and was quite patient in explaining the areas that I might need attention. They could even guess the size I wear just by the conversation we had! Very personable and patient- and the quality can not be beaten. I am sure these boots will be worn for many years and since I am an older customer I appreciate the old world way of doing business just like their website says. Thank you, Joey and Priscilla, for caring about your customers in a way I hadn't experienced in years.

Made me three pair, too smooth caiman and one smooth wingtip croc. I flew to El Paso from LA, met Joey, took me on a tour of his factory, got fitted personally by joey in the El Paso showroom. Sent back the wingtip croc back because it had a cut on the right boot they said they could repair. That is where the BS came in the game! three months go by no word, when I finally got in touch with Joey it was on his cell and not the showroom. Gives me a story that they sent the boots back to me by UPS, they never had a record of him sending me anything. Make a long story short, he BS me into buying another pair like the ones he lost. I trusted him, he played me. Charged me another $900 for some S**t that I believed he outsourced to Mexico probably.
I really don't think they have a factory anymore. I believe he's hustling at these trunk shows and takes an order and have the boots made in Juarez probably. The last pair he made me, he sent me a picture of them for approval, They didn't have my initials inlaid, so he had to redo them. Funny thing the picture was taken on his front entrance of his house and not an establishment. Also the boots quality compared to the ones that I originally purchased did not measure up to the quality or comfort of the original ones. He used to be good, but my last experience was terrible.

I've ordered at least 8 pairs of boots and shoes from this family owned company since 2012 or so. Each time, the orders have been easy, the production time reasonable, and the service excellent. On the occasions I've had to speak (via email or phone) with anyone at the company, they've been kind and accommodating. I'm about to order another pair of shoe boots soon. They're boots and service are a level above Tony Lama boots, I can tell you that for sure.

I recently received my custom made boots I ordered from Caboots. I am really happy with the quality and they are comfortable, as well as awesome looking! I was able to order them just the way I wanted (type of heel, toe, stitching, etc.). They were very helpful with giving suggestions. They took a bit longer than what I was expecting to receive them, but they were worth it! I've ordered from them before and was pleased with those also, which still look great. I like that it's not just another big company rolling them out, all cookie-cutter like. : )

So, I ordered a pair of python back boots from this website. I got my measurements from the Tony Lama warehouse in El Paso before I ordered them and just put the sizing information in on their website. There was a solid wait time (about five weeks) but I expected that because they were custom made and it said to expect 4-6 weeks of wait. They arrived recently and I have to say they're probably the best pair boots I've ever owned. I'd been wearing Tony Lamas and Justins before this and it was a huge step up in quality. It came with a price hike (from the $100 range with Tonys to about $500 at Caboots) but I'd definitely recommend it.

Need boots? DON"T use CA Boots. Horrendous experience!!!! Joey Sanchez agreed to make me a new pair of custom boots to replace a pair that had been damaged. Per his request I sent new measurements, pictures, and payment in full. After several months of not receiving my boots and no response from CA Boots I contacted the BBB and only then did I receive a stock pair of boots. They were not made from my measurements, they were inches off in both length and width. When I contacted Joey he told me that I should try putting them on with a plastic bag on my foot. After several attempts I got an RMA number and returned the boots. Currently, CA Boots still has my money and I have no boots and Joey will not respond.

I have just received my eighth pair of boots from CABoots, and I am a very happy customer!! That would be eight pairs in about five years! I first met both Joey and Priscilla at a boot show in San Antonio, and I have always been impressed with their knowledge and ideas on designing my perfect boots. I started off "small", just going with a caimen skin and a sewn upper, and have made my way through several different exotic skins (my preference, much cooler than steer hide) and several different tops (from sewn, to inlay, to vamp matching pulls), and I have always been impressed with the quality, fit, and comfort of my boots! And best of all, the wait is never that long! This last pair arrived at about seven-eight weeks! I am enjoying this pair, and am working on the design for my ninth pair! Joey, we need to talk!

After purchasing 2 pairs of boots from this company and being very happy with the fit and quality, I am very very disappointed that the 3rd pair of boots are not a patch on the others. The fit is not custom. The shaft is much wider than either of my first two pairs and consequently, they slop about on me like an old pair of gum boots. I ordered no harness and got harness attached. This was after I emailed to check that they were going to make the boots up without the harness and Joey confirmed this. I ordered a wide toe and got a roper toe. There are nails sticking out of the heels. There is one less layer of leather between the bottom of the boot and the sole. All around poorer quality than the other two pairs I got from this company. Worst part is that I have sent emails to Joey advising him of my disappointment and stating that I wanted to return the boots but didn't feel I should have to pay for return postage since the mistake was theirs, but I have had zero response. That is appalling customer service! I was running out of time to lodge a complaint with Paypal (that being my only other recourse), so I did that and emailed Joey to say I only lodged the complain with Paypal because I had received no reply from him. Still nothing. I think I have to agree with another reviewer that this is a passive agressive response to customer complaints. There is absolutely no benefit to a company to treat their customers in this way. Perhaps the company has become too large to care any more. What's the loss of one or two customers? I must state that the first two pairs were made in the USA, but this last pair were shipped from Mexico. Has Joey moved his business or is he sub-contracting the work to the Mexico location? A very different experience to Fox Creek Leather whose customer service is second to none. A pity they don't make custom boots!!

I ordered one pair of Biker-Boots (customized) in early 2010 from Germany and I payed nearly 500,- Euros (incl. shipping). Now in early 2012 (the boots are in a horrible constitution; gaps, cracks & breaks) I heard from my shoemaker, that the manufacturer used realy bad and thin leather – the most bad leather he ever did see. He will not repair it cause its wasted time. And now? I say: Don麓t buy from these company: CABOOTS. They just rip you off!!!

In my humble personal opinion, Joey at Caboots, the self proclaimed 鈥減rodigal boot maker鈥?(what bogus arrogance with all the great reputable Texas bookmakers like Dave Wheeler, Dave Little, Tex Robbins, Mr. Morado, M L Leddy etc etc), is one on of the most untrustworthy, passive-aggressive individuals I have dealt with in many years. You can't trust what he says or writes. Once you give him your money he does what he wants to when he wants to and he apparently does not care about customer satisfaction and/or his his business reputation. You will probably be better off avoiding Champion Attitude (what a joke name under the circumstances I have unfortunately endured) and going to a local boot maker. It may cost you ~20% more but you will benefit based upon fit quality and professional service. If not, good luck.

I had a horrible experience with CA Boots. Ordered 2 pairs of boots and they never could ship a pair that fit. They shipped 6 or 7 pairs, always too short. Total incompetence. Even after getting a true boot measurement from another local boot store in Austin and sending it to them, they couldn't get the boots that I had ordered right.
All this began when I attended one of their shows to buy boots. I met Joey who sold me the boots. He had a chance to measure my feet at the show. He chose not to. Instead, he just had me try on a couple of pairs they had at the show to determine the size. No telling how many people had tried these boots on and how stretched they were.
Bottom line: They still owe me 2 pairs of boots. Although he has said he would 'settle up', I've never received one penny. They owe me over $1000. This has been going on for over 2 years. Absolutely the worst business experience I've ever had.

Need some cowboy, pirate, or even stormtrooper boots? This is where you need to get them.
From the fantasy realm to plainer tastes, extreme custom high end to basic costume footwear, CABoots (Champion Attitude Boots) has them all. You want custom, how about a dozen choices and measurements to make what will no doubt be a treasured pair years from now. Caboots made the boots for Pirates of the Caribbean 2, 3, and no doubt 4. They supply large orders for the Disney theme parks. There are plenty of famous names wearing CABoots. And I haven't even mentioned exotic materials, if someone was ever to make a pair of boots out of Unicorn, these would be the people to do it. (I mean that in a good way, if you're going to take some super expensive pelt, skin, or hide and cut it up, craft something miraculous from it and find perfection, you're going to want CABoots doing it)…
Joey and Priscilla Sanchez (the owners) are no doubt wonderful people, if you call the number listed at www.caboots.com for customer service, one or the other answers, it's their cellphone. I worry that they're too close to every detail and might be overloaded at times. Whether they are or aren't of course is for them to decide, all I know is if one judges from the boots they send you, they're doing EVERYTHING right.
The site itself is wonderfully easy to navigate and represents CABoots very well. Beautiful photography leaves no doubt that the craftsmen at CABoots are just that. I own two pairs of boots from CABoots and would never hesitate to buy any of their product line. Only one caveat, buy your CABoots here, NOT from a vendor selling you boots that then sends your order to CABoots. Want the best, come to the best, get the best. Love 'em.
