Bury The Hatchet KC

My kids wanted to try this and I thought fine fine whatever I'll do this for the kids, but I actually had a lot of fun also!! They did a great job of providing someone (Mitchell) to teach us proper technique and help us correct problems with our throwing. He also taught us how to throw one handed and even let us practice on an open lane. We really had a great time doing something we had never done before. I would come back again soon to do this again! It was a great way to get my teenage boy to stop gaming and participate in a family event! We've also mentioned it to our friends and we are going to try to set up an adult night out! What a bizarre, but great idea that I never thought would be so much fun!

Such a fun place for a team building activity. We had so much fun and the coaches were amazing!

First time ever throwing an axe…and it was amazing! The coaches are very friendly, safety conscious, and knowledgeable. Goose and Roderick help you feel like a pro in no time. It's a BYOB with refrigerators available. They also serve beer, wine, and soft drinks. On Saturday night they had a pop up bbq stand. This is a great place for date night, hanging with friends, and/or team building.

Went there as part of a group event oh, there were probably 20 or so people in our group. It was very well organized and the axe master did a wonderful job of organizing everyone. For a large group, especially people that did not have training in throwing axes, 2 hours was just barely enough time. If you go with a small group, the two hour time frame would be plenty of time. I highly recommend it, it's easier than you might think and it's a lot of fun.

We visited here for a friend's birthday party and it was SO MUCH FUN! I was kind of nervous about it but our axe master did an awesome job explaining it and making it enjoyable. He was hilarious and super knowledgeable. It would not have been as fun without him!

They also have a giant jenga and connect four you can play while you wait for your lane! We almost had as much fun doing that as the axe throwing!

Everyone had a good time and I think we would all love to go again! It won't be a regular thing for me because it's a little expensive but it would be a great option for special occasions! I would definitely suggest this place!

I came here with a small group on a Saturday. we had reservations and were able to get on a lane quickly. the difference at this location vs blade and timber is that you get a personal assistant for the entirety of the event. this is nice because he keeps score for you and he gives you throwing tips.

the entire experience was a pleasure.

Went in a group of people I didn't know.
I had a great time, the hacket employee was super fun. He was great at explaining how things worked, rules and of course how to throw.
Last about 2 hrs, learned to throw and then they place you in a tournament. Was able to practice on the side.
I got worse the more I practiced and tried.
A great time for friends family and would love work to pay for it.

Who knew throwing an axe would be so much fun?! Like I literally had THE best time. My husband and I had a groupon, and luckily we went during the weekday and were the only ones in the place!

Jake, our axe master, was super awesome and gave us very good tips. Jake was very thorough and patient with us. After we got comfortable throwing, Jake even set up about 5 different games for us to play. When you win 3/5 games, you get a a block to keep from there. You can also take pics in their throne chair.

We had 2 hours of time, and if you have a small group then that's more than enough time, in my opinion. My arms were definitely sore the next day. This is an activity you must try.

My group had so much fun at Bury the Hatchet! The instructor was fun and so helpful teaching those of us who had never thrown axes before. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and the tablet was so convenient for keeping score. Better than other ax throwing places I've been to in KC.

Super fun and we were way better than we thought we would be. Just don't get stuck with 12 people in the same lane. The waiting around gets boring real quick
Oh and hope you get someone that can see the board to score your points.

Very unorganized front desk staff. Also if you aren't very good at ace throwing, prepare to not get very many opportunities to throw it. They do each group tournament style, so if you get eliminated the first round you may only get 10 throws the whole night for your $40 entry. Not worth it

It's so fun! Definitely something that everyone should try at least once! Pretty pricey as it is more than Top Golf so not something you would want to pay quite often.

We had an awesome experience at Bury the Hatchet! Two of us went on a Saturday morning for some axe throwing. We wanted to try something new and exciting, and do so in a relaxed environment. Bury the Hatchet was just that. There were only four of us in the building at 10am on a Saturday, so the experience felt very intimate and we had a lot of axe throwing time. Kevin, our axe master, was superb. He was enthusiastic, encouraging, and gave great technique advice to make sure we could get the most out of our time. We even got to do a birthday axe throw with balloons! Overall, this is a great business with wonderful employees. We are looking forward to returning!

Absolutely AWESOME time! Very professional, very fun and always safe. Our group of 10 was handled efficiently and we had children and adults…the hatchet equalizes all!!! Great place for all!

WHAT A FRIGGEN BLAST!!! Me and my wife and daughter just did this today. After a short demonstration we were all able to stick the axe many times in a row. The staff there were all really cool, friendly, and helpful! Our Axe Master was a guy named Kevin. He was knowledgeable and fun and really helped us have a great time there. We will be going back with friends.

Went in for our office annual party, about 40 of us. I was thinking it was going to be a disaster with someone losing something, thought I'd be happy if everyone make it out without losing any body parts! However their team of coaches really did a fantastic job in getting us into the game. Almost everyone played in the end. Could have a bit more safety measure installed as couple of times, the hatchets flew beyond those barrier shelves.

These guys are 5-star for a reason. The BYOB would be enough justification on its own, but I found their staff to be courteous and helpful. The booking system was easy to use and we quickly found a good time for our group of 6. Thank you for accommodating us and we'll be eager to throw the axe in the future.

Initially I was not excited to go and do axe throwing. I went with a group of friends. About five minutes into the hour-long event I was having a blast. The axe Master, Alex, made it even more fun by guiding the process and setting up little competitions. Definitely worth going. I will be going back as well. Is tons of fun.

Great time overall. Took my wife to dinner then ended our night here. We had no idea what to expect but we're overall pleasantly surprised. The whole guest experience operated like a well oil machine. From the sign in, to the training process and the tournament style play with others we didn't know. Check this place out if your interested in something new to try!

Walked in on a slow Tues, after chatting with the associate & filled out the traditional waiver….We got a tutorial of axe throwing from our master. We were put with another couple for a tourney then bracket. I was a little unsure about this but really enjoyed it! U can bring ur own drinks in providing u keep them behind the bookcase. For about $35 we had a full 2 hours of entertainment from each other, the other couple, & our master. Definitely will need to go again with some friends and definitely during the week. Master said that weekends are very busy and others have confirmed it!

We had tons of fun! At first I wasn't going to try it but decided to at the last minute. Guess who buried the hatchet on her first try? Yep! You guessed it!

It's $20/hr and you get an attendant for your session who will keep score and show you how it's done.

Great fun!

I went in for my birthday and have been coming back ever since. Bury the Hatchet in Overland park is by far the most well run and inviting place to learn, compete, and have a blast throwing axes in Kansas City. This is a great venue for letting off steam and getting together with friends, hell making new ones to boot! I have been back multiple times and entered the weekly tournaments they hold as well. Each time the staff remembers who I am and is nothing but gracious and safe. I recommend this for any event and it is not limited by skill or gender. Tap that axe!

Got to check out this new venue. My first time throwing axes and had a blast. You have to sign a waiver of course. There are many cages and different axes. Two lanes to a cage. Very well lit. Lots of tables, seatings, and cubbies for your people and your things. The axemaster was helpful and kept things moving. He also keeps score for you so you can just have fun. Enjoyed the pizza and beer coordinated by Adam. Turns out this is a BYOB and BYOF place.
Would be glad to go back with friends for a session!
