Car…….. 1st class
Return 1st class
But I would recommend that the client is told that the car is returned with no damage and has been verified returned with a full tank of petrol.

I was very unhappy with my experience of the pick-up at the Budget office in Drumcondra for the following reasons:
1) I booked my car for 6pm from the Drumcondra office but arrived at 6:15pm as the ferry was 15 minutes delayed.
2) My taxi driver explained he felt the office would be closed and he was correct. Thankfully, he offered to take me to Dublin airport but at extra EUR 17 cost.
3) I do not expect to book a car at 6pm and arrive only 15 minutes later to find the office closed. Furthermore, nobody from the office attempted to call me.
4) I asked for Budget to pay my taxi fare to Dublin airport but they refused as they said the opening times were clear on the website and an official was there until 6:10pm. That is true but my point is that I booked a car at 6pm and, during the booking process, it did not flag that the office closed at that time. Furthermore, I would at least expect a courtesy call asking my whereabouts and informing me to go to Dublin airport. Had I been with children, or had a disability, this would have been even more difficult.
I would never hire with Budget again.

On returning the car at the airport, there was a very minor scratch on the bumper, which we were not sure whether it was an old scratch or new one, either ways i am sure i didn't scratch the car while it was in my custody, any way they had my insurance money held back to fix it on my behalf, and they charged me for 891.44 Euros
which is way beyond the estimated fixing cost, in my opinion this scratch would never exceed 100 euros any way
this is an obvious theft

The man behind the desk was very rude and not accomodating at all, he tried to rip us off with the prices of the vehicles and therefore we booked the vehicle online. However, my credit card did not work so he said that's what happens when you book online, I did warn you, he couldn't offer us a refund or any alternative. Very rude customer service maybe because we were people of colour. Definitely won't be recommending anyone to Avis/Budget car hire at belfast international airport.
Nevertheless, their counterpart Enterprise just opposite them were extremely friendly although they did not have the car we required they went over and beyond their means to try and help us.
I'm still astonished by the level of customer service that was provided by the bold man that day. As a owner of a business I understand the importance of providing excellent customer service. However, the man clearly hasn't been trained or is allowing his personal issues impact his level of service at work.
0/5 Star.

This crowd is tagged to auto europe.
when my wife and I were visiting Ireland from England- a country and people we love – we were totally ripped off by these leopards!
Only when we went to collect the car at Shannon airport did they tell us we would have to pay 224 Euros extra for insurance -.
When we booked the car we were under the strong impression from their website in England that the car rental included insurance.
Their CEO is / was Imad Khalidi – does he know what's going on?
I still have all the documents even though this happened some time ago!
WATCH THEM – OR YOU MAY BE DEVOURED BY THE LEOPARD!!!!

Scammers. Have tried to get money back but as we'd signed they wont return. Horrific experience from a so called reputable company. Avoid at all costs.
Have gone round and round in circles with trying to get 拢200 back that was overpaid, I wouldn鈥檛 leave a scathing review if I hadn鈥檛 already spoken at length for weeks with budget customer services.

I had two issues. After using Budget car from Dublin airport my credit card got cloned and charges were done to it. At the time I thought it was just coincident and that it doesn't have anything to do with Budget. On my trip I had a small accident where I drove into the side of a bridge at 5km/h. I literally scrapped the car there was little damage to the car. I got a quote from my uncle and he said it will probably cost about 100-200 euro to fix and the car rental companies normally charge double on that and I could expect to pay around 430Euro. When I gave the car back I explained the situation. And they kept the 1500Euro deposit saying they would refund me the balance when it is done. I didn't like this at all but it seemed it was pretty standard. I had to wait almost a month to get an answer from Budget and they ended up charging me 1419Euro and said they would refund me 80Euro within a week. When inspecting the repair quote they added a whole bunch of stuff to it that I did not do. The actual damage that I did came to about 400Euro (like my uncle said it would) but they went ahead and added another 1000Euros worth of repairs at my expense. This is blatant fraud! Do not rent from them, if you have to take out full insurance because if you cause a few scratches they will charge you for other repair as well.

When we returned the car they failed to mention that we needed to go to a special area rather than car drop offs so I had to wait for my fuel refund but someone would be in touch. No one was in touch but my refund was processed quickly

I used BudgetCar at Belfast International for a week of rental. Everything went very smoothly; inexpensive, within walking distance, no hassle collection or drop off and the staff were friendly and helpful.
People are all too often frustrated with hire companies because they haven't bothered to bring the required documents/credit cards.

Easy enough to deal with at desk etc but online looks like a great deal until you actually get to the desk. Will look elsewhere next time

Got to the airport and as i didn't have a credit card with me they made me take the daily insurance to reduce the excess fron 拢1000 to zero.
It wasnt clear the consequences of not taking the insurance with then beforehand. It is an absolute scam. Paid a fortune on insurance. They wouldnt take it from my debit card either.
Do not use if if you do read through all the terms and conditions.

I come home to Ireland at least 3 times a year and always rent a car.
First time to rent with BUDGET, my husband and I arrived at their rental office at Terminal 2, when I presented my credit card (Italian) which says "debit bancomat" They refused to take it. saying it wasnt a credit card. without any check whatsoever!!
Obviously we were very annoyed and tried to explain that "debit bancomat" in Italy means just that you can take cash from a bank machine.
James, Who appeared to be maybe a manager came over and was extremely rude to us. We tried to explain again the reason for debit but they refused to listen hardly looked at the card and told us no way. Telling me husband he "needs to calm down".
I then turned over the card to show where it says CREDIT to which they abruptly accepted. James then went on a call and continued to ignore us without so much of an apology.
Extremely disappointing as an Irish woman coming home to visit, to be met by this ignorance of not knowing credit cards in foreign countries.
Thankfully I am Irish and so speak English, but for foreign travellers they may not understand and be left frustrated with no rental.
Train your staff better BUDGET!!

Didn't examine the vehicle thoroughly during pickup and though that I have scratched a car but upon returning the vehicle they have fairly pointed out that scratch was already there and did not charge me even though I had no insurance cover.
Honest and professional behaviour. Extra kudos to the young lad who inspected the car upon returning.
