Hello, too the Corby shop thank you for be polite and helpful I paid half in Love2shop vouchers and half in cash I had my items booking in on Wednesday 4/11/2020 however with the situation changing I got a phone call asking if a day earlier was okay, which it was, they message me to confirm the time. Shane the driver and all the colleagues that helped get our couch up to our flat it only just fit thankfully, thank you to you all, you were all so polite and patient. Definitely going to use BHF again in future.

I required the collection of a three piece sofa set and a bed frame from a flat I moved out of over a month ago. Last night I received a phone call at 9pm telling me collection would be between 7-8 am. Yet I got a text at 7.35 am telling me that due to a change in crew the drivers would be late. When I enquired over a window of time I was told they didn't know. I informed them that I do not live at the flat and due to other commitments could not stay there all day waiting. They said that due to a massive back log the drivers were now coming from Stockport instead of Harpurhey and that they would try and get them to call me 40min before they arrived so I would be able to travel back over there in time. They did call, at 1.15 pm, to tell me that they would be there some time between 1.30-3.30 pm! When they finally arrived at 2.35 pm they told me that they could not take the sofa because it did not have a batch number on it. I replied that nobody said anything about this when booking the collection, just that it needed a fire label. Which it does. He said its company policy. Yet I bought this sofa set off BHF 9 months ago! I find it funny how he decided that they couldn't take everything only after he'd tested the weight of the sofa. That, and going off other reviews on here regarding bulky furniture makes me think that I too have been messed around. I've also had to spend 拢12 in taxi fares and am now having to pay for someone to take a perfectly good sofa set to the dump.
Edit to answer BHF reply: 1) This collection was booked almost a month in advance and the only reason I was kept informed is because I had to keep contacting them. 2) Stockport is not local to me, it is almost 10 miles away. 3) There was a fire label on each item, your drivers even confirmed this. On the BHF site itself it says, and i quote, "By law, we can only accept upholstered items if there is a fire label firmly attached. We cannot accept any upholstered or leather furniture that does not have a fire safety label on each removable component." No mention of a Batch Number needing to be present. 4) I think my review and many others on here are proof that the only time you are grateful to have bulky furniture donated is when they're in pristine condition and easy to move.

Wasted 5 hours waiting for a collection which did not happen. At 14:30 on the day of collection I called up the store to check that the collection was still on track and I was assured it was.
Called again at 17:00 to be told the driver had gone home and to call back the following morning.
The following morning the store sill had not heard from the driver, so I ended up carrying the item of furniture to the store instead, which took my partner and I two separate trips. I really could not waste another day at home waiting in for a collection which again may not materialise.
At the store I was told that the driver could not find anywhere to park, as busses kept on 鈥渕oving him on鈥?.?! They told me the driver called me at around 9 in the morning about this. Whilst this was true that I received two missed called at around 9am, no voice messages were received. Also as my collection slot was 12-5pm, how was I to assume these phone calls which were hours earlier were related to the collection?
I tried explaining this to the person in the BHF store however I kept on getting the same 聽response of 鈥渢hey called you as they could not find anywhere to park鈥? It seemed like I was getting nowhere with this conversation so I gave up and just left it there.
There is a large loading bay outside of my apartment, large enough for multiple large trucks. Therefore the claim of being moved along by busses does not make any sense.
No apology received, and also I wasn鈥檛 thanked for the donation.
Complained via email and was also not given a meaningful reply.

The Holloway Store is manned by the nicest most helpful staff I have ever met. There was a lovely Italian lady who took so much pain in helping me with the item I was interested in and the manager a friendly and kind chap called Graham couldn鈥檛 have made my purchase easier or a better experience. To think this charity shop does Gods work and these wonderful people many of whom are volunteers and get paid so little but give back so much – we all need to visit these stores and buy things as well as contribute to organisations like this. But truly it鈥檚 the people in the Holloway store that make me go in again and again. Well done Graham and your lovely Italian colleague. Thanks. Viv

Furniture and some other smaller items were collected promptly by polite staff who expressed great appreciation for the goods being donated. Can't fault the service at all and would recommend it to anyone with suitable goods to dispose of.

Allan and Wayne came at lunch time, they were very polite and caring to my home and furniture, they pick up the click clack sofa bed donation quick and effectively couldn't wish for polite caring team credit to BHF.

I applied on line for a sofa collection and received a call the same day to arrange collection. Guys who collected the sofa were very pleasant and efficient. First class service.

I wasted my day off at home waiting and they never arrived. Not even a phone call or email.
I tried call them several times, not answer at all…

Not a great experience. Didn't call or leave a voicemail before turning up.
They didn't take the sofa in the end, claiming it was damaged. It had some watermarks on it from wear and tear and cleaning over the years but it was in no way damaged.
Not much was said by the drivers who weren't exactly the talkative sort.
Will probably try Sue Ryder or the skip next. Doubt we'll be using BHF again.

I have had 2 very good experiences with collections from the Corby Store. Shane kept me well informed as to when the pick ups would take place. I found this very helpful as it meant I didn't have to waste my time hanging around. Top notch service.

In regard to my previous review, I feel I need to clarify a few points. I did NOT expect the drivers to take their shoes on and off whilst carrying items! I made this clear to them and said i thought they would just be viewing the items first. One in particular took offence when I said I would be writng a review and both continued arguing with me in my hallway. Extremely unprofessional.
