Gifts Wave

It's November, I ordered the book in July and never received it nor any communication other than a fraudulent alert (in August) that the book was in high demand so to please be patient. Based on the other reviews, I hope I can open a dispute with my bank and get my money back. Clearly never going to see the book from a business that doesn't exist, and whose website can't be reached due to a privacy alert.

I, like many other people it seems, decided to buy my copy of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" from gifts wave because of the low cost. I also bought a copy of "Fantastic Beasts and where to find them" because everywhere else was sold out. Unlike everyone else, I do not have a pay pal account so I paid for both books using my credit card directly. I am not sure how to open a dispute now as gifts wave is not contacting me back and I purchased both books June 12. I will never use any questionable websites again. I guess that I have learned my lesson.

Long story short: I ordered HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD through giftswave. After one month of no book and no contact from giftswave, I contacted PAYPAL.

PAYPAL HAS COMPLETED MY REFUND.

What can we do? I have never had this happen to me before. What horrendous people! They got our money and skipped. Help!

I am in the same boat the previous reviewer is, I ordered the new Harry Potter book on July 30th and have had no further communication with this supposed business and it is now Sept 8th. I have e-mailed multiple times questioning their intent with no response. I will continue to follow up on this but if anybody out there is questioning buying anything from Gifts Wave, [email protected] – PLEASE DO NOT!!!! Obviously the whole thing is a scam and I will never see my money or the book, I'm sure. Keep your money and go to Amazon!

I ordered Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on July 30th. Their website promised delivery within 5 days of its release to the public. The book was released on July 31st, so delivery was expected by August 5th. Over a month after my order and I'd received absolutely no communication from Gifts Wave. I ended up opening a dispute with PayPal that I elevated to a claim, which PayPal is still investigating as I type this. I also reported Gifts Wave to the FTC. All Gifts Wave is going to do is to take your money and run, except now their website is down, making it that much more difficult to communicate with them.

[this may be a duplicate of another review–I didn't realise I wasn't logged in then and can't seem to claim it]

I pre-ordered Harry Potter & the Cursed Child because they had a great price. They promised delivery within 5 days of the release date. I got two purchase 'updates' both of which were useless and said the exact same thing.

Then nothing. No shipping notice, no reply to my email, facebook message, or facebook post on their wall. Reading their facebook, I could see that dozens (at least) of other people had the exact same problem. Others reported being overcharged.

I had to open a paypal dispute (for the record, this is literally only the second dispute I've had to open in more than a decade of having an account and using it regularly). Paypal replied 2 days later with tracking info, and the book finally arrived today (10 Aug). It was released 31 July. I still haven't received a reply from GiftsWave, except a notification of delivery.

I will absolutely NEVER use them again. The meagre savings aren't worth the utter headache.
