Received two boxes. Disappointed with both. Most of the produce in the first box was either spoiled on arrival or within a few days. Second box was meat cheese and a few shelf items only. Got very sick after eating some of the cheese. Cancelled subscription.

I can't believe there's a company out there that survives off of terrible customer service, poor handling and delivery, and a bad/ruined product. I'm not saving that much money and it's not that great for the environment and the world to be worth this awful hassle.

I live in an apartment complex and twice they delivered my box full of raw meat and fresh fruit/veggies not in front of my apartment, but two buildings over at the bottom of the stairs. We looked for it for over 6 hours and by the time we found it, everything was warm and mushy. I threw out half the produce.

It was badly packaged from the start, so it's not all because of the delivery. They left the produce out of the insulation bag, the softer stuff like berries were at the very bottom, and the chips were crushed.

I contacted customer service to let them know, got no response.

Pros: Awesome mission/concept, great selection, decent prices. Would be very convenient if it worked out.
Cons: Just about everything else.

I sat on a wait list for 2 months (understandable due to COVID-19) so when I finally got an email with the green light, I was pretty excited. I customized my box and started planning my household's weekly menu around what I was expecting. My delivery day (Tuesday the 16th) rolled around and…nothing. No email or text communication about shipping or delays, no indication on the website that I had a box coming – nothing. So on Wednesday, I got in touch with their chat service on the website and they provided me with a FedEx tracking number. I wish I had been told it would be shipping via FedEx, but that's okay, at least it was coming. Or I thought it was. The tracking number indicated the box had been shipped on Monday with a Wednesday delivery date but none of the information had been updated since the box started its journey a state away from me. As it got later and later in the day, I was getting more and more concerned. I called FedEx and lo and behold, they had no idea where the box even was. I contacted Imperfect again, and they basically said the same thing and gave me a refund (still processing). Today, 2 days after my scheduled delivery date and a FedEx status of "pending" (still), I was pretty surprised to find a box of warm, smelly, half-rotten produce (and rotten chicken!) delivered to my door. Even though cleaning out a box of mushy, over-ripe veggies is probably the last thing I wanted to do on a Thursday afternoon, at least the box solved the shipping mystery: Imperfect shipped the box with a shoddy, sliced off label. The only thing on the label was my last name, the end of my street name, and half of the name of my city + the zip. No wonder FedEx lost track of it.

This would have all been understandable. The world is a weird place right now. There are all sorts of shipping delays and stock shortages. But this issue was caused by lazy packaging and poor communication; I had to contact Imperfect no less than 4 times and their customer service was disingenuous at best. They weren't really interested in fixing the problem outside of a few empty platitudes, or even preventing it from happening again. After reading some other things online, it seems like a lot of their "waste-reducing" food actually ends up as, well, waste – mostly because of awful packaging and what seems to be a general lack of care on their end.

A side note about packaging: I understand that there is a big push to reduce packaging waste these days and that's great. But just dumping a bunch of fruit, veg, meat, and other perishables in a box with little to no separation or protection is pretty counter-productive to reducing waste. Even if I had gotten the box before everything started to rot, I still would have had to toss several things out because they were smashed or otherwise unusable after bouncing around a hot FedEx truck.

I'm going to try for another week or two because I know mistakes happen and I really do want to support this cause. But I can't say I have high hopes.

Received my very first order yesterday. Ordered 30 items and only received five of them. Reached out to the company and they responded and said I had gotten the wrong order. However the next day I received a second box with the rest of the items except for three. So I did not get the wrong order. Something was definitely screwed up with shipping however. And the quality of the food was not great. I understand imperfect foods will be and perfect however they should still be usable. It is literally like somebody stood across the room and just tossed a bunch of items into a box sealed it up and put it on a truck that rolled a few times. The mangoes were squishing out like applesauce, the zucchini was gashed and partly rotten and the bread was smashed. The can of tomatoes I got was so dented that I鈥檓 not even sure I can open them. The lettuce was wilted and the ice packs were completely melted so all of the products that needed to remain cold we are now warm. I did give them too but only because they responded very fast and gave me a full refund. I really want to love this company and want to give them another chance but after reading some of the reviews here that were similar to mine, I may not do this. So disappointed.

I really enjoyed the service the challenge of ordering and creating recipes to use the entire box. There were several items each order that were not available you didn't find out until like an hour before the delivery. After the "4th" delivery I canceled. Today (4th Delivery) I was supposed to receive a box and the driver got all the way to my house and they never put my box on the truck. Total disappointment I canceled the subscription on the spot. Probably better it happened to me than an elderly person that their son or daughter was nice enough to send them because they are at risk going to the store during a pandemic.

grass fed steaks were rotten, had to toss them (likely melted/re-frozen or just shelfed too long, hard to tell). veggies and fruits were fine. ordered 1 dozen eggs and about half were broken

But hey, imperfect is in the name, right?!?!?!?!

Unimpressed after 2 boxes. First box was missing 4 items. They chalked this up to a packaging error and credited me. Went to check on the second box and they had removed the order of salmon burgers without sending me notification. Then it gets near to the end of their delivery window and I get an email that the box is delayed until tomorrow. In researching if anyone has had issues with delivery, I find people getting deliveries with raw meat defrosted and strewn among fresh ready-to-eat veggies. Not risking food safety on top of unreliability. Off to try Misfits Market instead!

Total Fail. I can't believe they shipped out of state. My box was shipped during a heat wave. There was hardly anything in the box to begin with. It was left out in the sun, in 90 degree weather, after being on a truck for 2 days. There was no packing, or ice in the box. The berries were smashed all over the box. Several items were starting to mold. It was so gross inside, there is nothing to salvage. Sad, that the first box will be my last. Money that I could have used to buy my own fruit and vegetables. Wrote to the company, but have yet heard back.

I understand the issue of delays of shipment. Imperfect Foods will always text there will be a delay, however sometimes the box does not come at all. At least 3 times items were damaged during the shipment – boxes squashed, fruit badly bruised, the ice packets were mostly melted…..Today was a disaster. The box was 3 days past the delayed delivery date. The ice packet was completely melted, the strawberries were rotten and smashed so badly that the juice was all over everything. The vegan butter was completely melted. The cracker box was smashed open (and covered with strawberry juice as well). I am on the verge of giving up on this company. Quality of delivery is very poor

I wish I could give one star. I was intrigued by the idea but you need to enter your credit card details before you can see prices/produce options, but they tell you that you won鈥檛 get charged until you fill your box. When I looked at the products/prices and compared it to my own local store the prices were either the same or higher so I closed the page without adding anything to my box. Next thing I know I鈥檓 getting a $49 charge for my 鈥榥ext scheduled delivery鈥?as they automatically add a standard amount of meat ,fruit and veg to your box when you sign up. By this time it鈥檚 too late to cancel the order. When I emailed and said I never ordered this please don鈥檛 send and refund me, they labelled it a 鈥榬efused鈥?box but wouldn鈥檛 refund me. Now I鈥檓 out $50 without even receiving anything. Super shady practices

My second order came 24 hours late. I received no notice that it wouldn't be delivered on the scheduled date. Only after two e-mails did I get a reply the next day saying that my delivery would be delayed. No estimated time for delivery. A cheery little 'we're sorry' note didn't help. I had planned to be home the day the delivery was scheduled since there were refrigerated items. I couldn't be home the next day — and it was in the mid-80s. I returned home from work to find the box about the same time I got a text saying my delivery was 5 minutes away. The box was left 15 feet away from the bottom of the stairs to the front door. The instructions were to leave it at the top of the stairs, which the first delivery person did. So I (77 years old) had to carry the 25 lb. box up a flight and a half of stairs.
The contents of the box were all in a jumble. Everything was clearly just thrown in without regard to what produce might be damaged by being on the bottom. The haphazard packing also gave me no reason to be confident that a packer with Covid hadn't sneezed on some of the produce.
I can't quit this service fast enough…

I like the concept and have received some good things. But, their packaging is terrible. Something always gets damaged because they just toss things in a huge box with an icepack. However, the reason I'm finally leaving a review is that the last two weeks, in addition to damaged and missing items, I've had to throw away all of the cold items because the the poor packing and lack of ice packs meant that by the time the package got to me, the ice pack was completely melted — so melted that even the condensation was gone. The meat items were room temperature. It's only in the 70s here now…there's no way food will get here intact in the summer. Sure, they've offered me credit, and their customer service folks have been great. But there is no way I can meet the $30 minimum every week without ordering some meat or cheese. I'm just not willing to keep throwing things away and then contact customer service every week

Every box we received produce was smooshed or moldy.
Received nothing in my box today. Ur representative left me in the chat for a half an hour and then stated I can not get a new box due to your poor production and employees. This service is incredibly disappointing. Cannot provide a service that is paid for

I joined through a friends referral code so I got $10 off my first box. However, I was on the waitlist for a month. When I finally received my first box, there was an item missing. They automatically refunded for me for this. The food I did receive was delicious and fresh. However I canceled after this first box due to the unreliable nature of the company.

This is a scam I try updating my delivery address, for my credit card and deliver but they still charge me and deliver my food to a non existent address.
Even though I put in the notes to contact me or call. All i got was they delivered my box to an address that is not there. So the driver most likely deliver to his/her buddy for what i paid for. Shame on you people.
Scam I should have paid better attention to the reviews here.
What a waste of time.

Everything started off great. I had a few small issues, like an item missing from my order. They issued a credit or free shipping and all was fine. Then, two weeks ago, my delivery day was changed from Tuesday to Saturday and FedEx started routing my deliveries from Texas to Arkansas to Mississippi and then back to Louisiana. I have not had a delivery arrive when it was supposed to since then. Imperfect Foods has given me the run-around on this matter every time I've contacted them, today saying I needed to contact FedEx to find out why my shipments are being routed that way. Guess what? FedEx says to contact them, so everyone is passing the buck and no one is taking responsibility for the issue. Also since the change in my delivery date, I've had to throw out all of the meat in my boxes and at least half of my produce has been rotten or extremely damaged when it did finally get to me. Imperfect Foods keeps saying they don't know when or if my delivery date will be changed back to the original date, so until I can talk to someone that can actually answer this, I'll continue to leave this review on every single site I can find. This company did a switcheroo on me by giving me decent products at decent prices and decent customer service until I was invested (I'm going to miss the oranges the most) and then suddenly I don't matter anymore. They've grown quite a bit with the recent pandemic, so are apparently making enough money that my issues do not matter. Also, if you do need a refund, don't expect to get it in a timely fashion. They take their money within a day of so of your shopping window closing, but it takes 5-10 business days before you will receive your refund.

SCAMMERS & FRAUDS. They demand your credit card info before giving you a price list. Reality is they're much, much more expensive than even Whole Foods. Send them an email, you'll get a form letter back which has absolutely nothing to do with your questions. Call them & wait 1 1/2 hours on hold no matter when you call. You'll get a jerk complaining that he has to work too many hours and all he hears is serious customer complaints. Today they wouldn't stop texting me to say my delivery was on it's way. They even accessed my security gate (major issue with condo security co.) NO, I have NEVER ordered anything from these LIARS.

If I could give less stars I would. Received our first shipment today. Well we received someones shipment today, Not our name or address on the box, which we didn't even look at until after we unpacked everything since the package was left upside down. We ordered the box for 1-2 people so $16 plus the grain pack $6.99. We received two small apples, three oranges, and three lemons. Maybe $7 worth of produce for $23 plus shipping. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!

After I submitted my first pick of produce and the company took my funds with a promise date of delivery attached; they sent me an updated notice saying there might be delays and shortages on your pick of produce. I immediately canceled my account with them. Coincidence how everything is promises until they take my money then it鈥檚 oops you鈥檒l have to wait for what you paid for. So I sent email after email trying to contact a person and all I keep receiving are automated emails. I just want my money back!!! I am 3 weeks with no package, no news on if I鈥檓 getting my money back OR if they are still sending it!! I had to waste twice the amount of money because I purchased what I thought was going to be delivered to me but then had to go to the store anyways and buy the produce I was needing anyway!! I had to do twice the shopping with no sign of the first purchase! I am still waiting to hear anything from this company and all I keep getting is garbage automated emails!! So I think this company stole… YES STOLED my money. They took it without giving me what I paid for. I will keep finding ways of putting on bad reviews about this company until they set things right and take accountability for bad service!!!

The customer service is horrible. The food is overpriced, damaged during delivery, and generally several items are missing from orders. Delivery driver damaged our property and the company took no responsibility. Don't waste your time.

The food is great, if it arrives undamaged. The problem is that every box we have had we have had major damage.
Week #1: Blueberries were squashed into blueberry mush (so we stopped ordering berries or fruit that was too delicate
Week #2: Orange was crushed in half by icepack and juice was all over the box
Week #3: Cereal box was totally destroyed – edible but too crushed up for our liking (birds got to eat well that week)
Week #4: we skipped while we waiting to hear from corporate about whether they could fix these issues (they issued some credits)
Week #5: we were on vacation
Week #6: apples were crushed by some sort of impact
Week #7: a pasta bag was split open with pasta all over the box (dried so fine because easy to clean up, but not edible) and mango was mushed to a pulp

Since I am tired of complaining, I discontinued the service. Un-boxing had become stressful because I knew there would be carnage and because the whole reason we tried this service was to lessen the impact food loss. You can tell the items are being thrown in the box, so the foods are not only ugly (which is fine) but they are being damaged at site and in transit. There is an ice pack in there that wreaks havoc in transit, smashing up the produce that gets in the way.

Love the concept, execution is bad.

Subscribed last week for perfect Foods and canceled my subscription today.
1. The website is not user-friendly. These time limitations, customization/uncustomization options make the navigation frustrating
2. The variety of foods offered is poor. I would rather go to the supermarket
3. The quality of produce is bad. I got a box of grape tomatoes, and threw away half of it due to them being rotten. Same with mushroom box. Looked disgusting even to open, so I threw it away in a box unpacked

Having dealt with these many hiccups I decided that this option is not for me and is not worth the trouble. Hope others had a better experience

My first box arrived today – one day after the delivery window provided when I ordered. I had over $90 ordered which came in two boxes. Box 1: had 2 lbs of salmon in two packs – no where near the ice pack. One package was not sealed and the whole box was coated in fish juices and oils – soaking thru to the outside of the box. A one lb bag of brussels sprouts in this box was bagged in a plastic bag with no attempt to close the bag – so brussels sprouts were rolling around in salmon juices….There was also a large glass jar loose in this box. While the bottom and two sides of the box were lined with insulating material-the other two sides and top of box had no insulation. Since my order was an extra day in transit the fish and cheese in this box were barely cool. Onto the second box – all produce – again just loose in the box with about two sheets of paper to keep things in place even though my box was sent via fedex…..two bunches of cilantro just tossed in among eggplants, apples, pear, lemons, garlic, sweat potatoes, etc. 3 of the 4 eggplant I ordered are at least 50% bad (rotten, smushed, brown). There was at least one item missing from my order. I am not even sure if I should consume any of these items. It appears that no care was put into packaging these items-no thought to the fact that fedex was going to drive these boxes over 500 miles…..
I have sent 3 emails to imperfect regarding this shipment – one about the orders arrival that didn't occur in the window and two about quality/shipping issue – and so far no response.
