Guy Fawkes-fireworks

We went into the shop today with my 4 year old son to look for fireworks for tonight. The girl which met us was very friendly and helped show us the different fireworks. She asked if I was a member, I said yes but didn't have my card so she went to check what they could do. An older lady came back and was extremely insistent about there being nothing they could do to recover my membership, even though I'd been there last year and they found my details in their records. She then told me I'd have to pay 拢10 for new membership, but it would be linked to the old account! How is this even possible if they can't find my membership? She then rudely said that it was my fault that I'd lost the card and walked away.

I realise we should have kept hold of the card (albeit a lot to expect for using it only once a year) but it would have been good for some flexibility or some way to recover the information. Instead I got a patronising response with what I felt was a "we don't need your business" kind of attitude. So we walked out.

I do my best to use local businesses but I wont be using these guys again. I went to Sainsburys and got much better service and a much better deal on Fireworks.

Aswell as the above, we also received an email from them recently advertising some member offers. The email had every else's email address included, a complete breach of privacy laws. (handy if we setup out own fireworks business though!)

We were also told that the membership offered free shows which they displayed their latest fireworks. In 3 years we've not been told of a single one.

Note: This review is only in relation to the Fireworks Shop (guy-fawkes-fireworks.co.uk), Allington Lane, Fair Oak, not the garden centre. The garden centre is great.
