I鈥檝e recently started to use Gumroad and was delighted to find one place that met all of my needs eg website, email collection, email autoresponder, shopping cart, blog and online store. I can鈥檛 believe how inexpensive and affordable it is – I definitely think it鈥檚 the cheapest online for what it offers. And the usability is really easy and simple too. Also the domain set up was easier than normal as they find your site and link it on their end . Also really happy that they deal with all the email laws and regulations. Customer service is great and I normally get an answer within a day. I also like the explanations on the site – it sounds human and not like a company like Fb where they really don鈥檛 care about you, and you can鈥檛 get hold of anyone if you have a problem. As someone buying from the site, the process is super fast and easy. The only feedback I have is to improve the look and layout of the post page and make it easier for people to skim over the different posts or find the ones that they are interested in rather than scroll through each full post. But I think this is a fairly new feature and hopefully they will improve it. All in all, I highly recommend Gumroad.

i know that you are going to be reading this but after reading these reviews, i do not think i would be uploading my content for sale on your site. i created an account and everything but after reading that almost everyone didnt get their sale or payout FOR ALL THE SAME REASONS seems abit suspicious to me.

Please address your customer service because many are complaining that they were rude. only 5 out of 38 reviews says your site is great but how is it that 33 people have "detected fraudulent" sales and money laundering? its no from me sorry.

Time to be an adult and confess! I gave Steve the customer service manager thee most difficult time EVER and he not only survived the hard time I gave him, but he conquered every complaint I threw at him and redeem the Gumroad trust I lost. Someone give this man a pay raise!

My experience as a buyer:

After buying a course through Gumroad I had an incorrect VAT number on my invoice. I kindly asked support to make a correction in their system so I could generate the correct invoice. Steve, Manager of Support in Gumroad told me that they don't have capacities to correct invoices "because they have so many orders per day" + they can't change my data in their system because they don't store it – which is a lie, because this data *must* be stored somewhere (after clicking "Generate invoice" button, my VAT number appears there!!!)

In my entire career in IT business and online business I never had this kind of issue anywhere. Even big, big companies like GoDaddy, NameCheap, etc. were always happy to help me especially if it comes to paperwork (invoices, billings) and accounting stuff.

Mine is experience is as a buyer.
I have a problem long story short. I had some problems buying brushes last week form Gumroad. I thought it was them and had received a refund for a couple purchases. Now before that I had bought a lot and I mean a lot. So I was refunded for 2 purchases which is in the comments that said they will refund if I had a problem. So then after they said they would refund me that suspended my account and I lost everything I bought the last 6 mos. They did refund me all my
purchases. Now I am not able to get any updates on any items. So far it's really hard finding all these sellers.

So today I found out it was my internet services showing that my internet was working fine when it was really not working. Now I know it was my fault. I sent a email asking for a reconsideration. No response so beware don鈥檛 ever ask for refund evening if they say that they will be happy to refund you from Gumroad. Now I know it鈥檚 my fault I feel bad that all them purchases are being taken from all the sellers.
This is my experience. . hopefully it will help someone. I will never recommend them to anyone. Before this I was recommend to everyone that ask. Cause I am on alot of social websites.
The really sad thing is I am a disabled person and drawing is the only thing that makes me happy. I got my simlus money and was trying to help out the sellers by buying from them. I am self teaching myself to draw. I just really upset and to be able to tell my story again hopefully it will help someone. I found a couple places they really care about customer service.
The best to me is designcut. The more you buy the better discount you will get. To bad I didn't find them first. Cause I would have bought mostly from them. They are trying to help me out right now.
The other are esty and creative market. I posted this on procreate forum and they gave a few more places sellfy and cubebrush. I have not tried them but alot if people on there are trying to help. There are still great customer service out there.
I know gumroad is going to try to explain why they did this. But it will be up to you to decide. Again I hope this helps someone so they don't have to go threw this. I have been so upset that I ask to speak to a person but no phone calls. Just another thing for me to deal with. I have a husband that has congestive heart failure and he is only 49 years old. I was so excited everyday to see what was new on gumroad but they took that from me. You would think that since I had bought so much they would give me another chance. But no one will even respond. Ok I guess I vented enough. Hope this helps someone not to have to go threw what I did. Thank you for listening be safe with covid 19.
After gumroad responded
I know I didn't loss any money but I just really like gumroad it was one my favorite things to do. So it was not about the money. Which I did say I didn't lose any money that gumroad did give all my money back. The thing that made me upset is my favorite thing that I look forward to everyday. I can't find all of the sellers that I bought from so I can make sure I get updates. So I know I got my money but sometimes it's not about the money. Especially when you had someone so close to not knowing if they are going to make it. It's the little things that makes me happy. Especially with covid 19 not being able to go out. My husband and me are at high risk. So I everyone gumroad did give all my money back. That is why I want anyone who likes gumroad not to be stupid just buy if something doesn't work just shoutup and just accept. If i could do over I would just accept my issues. Which again was my fault to a point. I went off on my internet that they made me lose something that made me happy. But unless you are in my shoes you will not understand.
Just like I said gumroad would respond. So again just make your decision for yourself. I am just telling my story. I am not being mean just letting people know my story. Thank again for your time. Also please find things to be happy with and don't be stupid like me and mess them up.

Just wish you would reconsider at least let me open another account. That way I could give back the sellers there money and back my brush packs. But I see that you are happy that you gave back all my which thank you I am happy for that. Just wanted my updates. Thank you for letting have my money. I just having problems finding sellers that I want to make sure I get my updates.
Just one thing I am going to forward this to all sellers once I find them so they know I am not a scammer. Cause some were not responding. I think this will at least help. I have the time to find the sellers contact information so they know I am a good person and was not scramming them. Omg if I didn't feel bad enough. I just got a email from a seller saying that they think I cheated them.i was going to go and buy the item again.

I've had two previous payout issues with my account (both my fault)

I got a reply back within minutes and it was all sorted both times seamlessly and courteously.

Steve from Support is particularly helpful.

Steve, Manager of Support Gumroad really upheld what true customer service is and means. He notified me of the issues with my Gumroad account and instead of automatically deleting my product without explanation he thoroughly explained the issues and allowed me to remedy them on my end. He gave me speedy responses to my questions and it was an overall pleasant experience from start to finish. I am proud to be selling my products via Gumroad's platform. Thank you again Steve for your A1 Customer Service. It is very appreciated more than you know!

PS – I hope this review helps in getting him a raise, a promotion, etc within the company as Steve is a valuable asset.

I really appreciate the fact that this鈥?br />
I really appreciate the fact that this site exists. The idea of a free open-source platform for everyone to sell their valuable work is great! Thank you. However someone please help them out with the up-loader. It almost doesn't work half the time or waiting around for awhile. My internet runs well with every other site ie. Vimeo etc. and I make sure to use Chrome. Still, very slow upload times.

Have never visited the site, and have never given my approval to send me emails. yet they fill up my inbox. So they are classified as spammers, and spammers have only one objective! stealing money.

Very unsatisfied with this.

Gumroad was not only difficult for my customers to initially use (they were unable to process the payment for two of my pre-order customers) but two days after my products launched (and with $600 in sales) they closed my account without notice and refunded all of my customers. They stated their algorithm detected fraudulent activity but they don't provide any way to contest the issue and they are keeping our account shut down. We know everyone who purchased our products so it is a bit absurd that they detected fraud. I would NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE USE GUMROAD. They have awful customer service which can be summed up as "screw off, this is our policy/process."

Without ever understanding why and without gumroad being able to explain it to me, my transaction was considered fraudulent, my account was blocked, and I was never able to recover the amount of my sale.

Gumroad told me my client will be refunded. But nothing was happening. Afraid that gumroad would keep everything, I had to fight by sending several emails for my client to be refunded.

Then I had to fight with my client to get him to agree to make me a transfer again (without going through gumroad this time, let's do it right), even though my service had been delivered for several weeks.

In short, horrible experience with gumroad. If you want to do good business, do not use gumroad.

In addition, Gumroad applies significant fees to both the seller and the buyer. What a bad joke!

If GumRoad/Steve is involved, DON'T PAY. It's probably a bad product to begin with if they use Gumroad because they are utterly unreliable. Flume uses them for their payments, and the app has never worked. So I wanted a refund and after spending so much time chasing them with barely any response, they said they can't do the refund because it's past the six month window, which was never advertised in Flume nor Gumroad's website. It's as if they wanted me to wait on purpose. Stay clear!

My account was suspended for no reason and now all money I got in the balance will be refunded to my customers which I spent money and time for them.

When I sent email to Gumroad support, all they can do is send an automated response that basically translate as: "We don't care about you, all money will be refunded to your customers, now go found an alternative!

Totally a joke.

Stay away. I thought Gumroad would be great way to pay influencers on Instagram and FB with a CC for marketing posts. The advice they gave me was "stop paying people for this stuff". It is clear from the answer from their support team that this is not a company that prioritizes customers. All I did was ask that I had some reason to believe a transaction I made could be not valid given the person I paid was not replying. Their answer was the least professional one I've seen in a while. Someone in their customer support team is really bitter about something, and is taking it on their customers. Happy to provide a screenshot with proof of their interaction with me if any potential customer is thinking on doing business with this company.

Worst platform ever don't work with Gumroad.

I joined gumroad few months back. I have 3 products in my store. Last month one product make 1sale and this month same product make 2 sale. Product cost is $20 so total i earned $60. Excluding gumroad. Charges my account balance is $52. 10 days back one sale is refunded on next day my account was suspended. Then i mail the gumroad on next day they reply that was saying i'm doing fraud. Again i mail them and said that my products or complete genuine and not illigal and also i'm not doing any thing fraud and also I ask them if they need any proofs for my genuinity i will send them. But they don't reply anything. Next day my balance is $0.for this they said they send my amount to customers. This is the whole situation happened
Now i have few doubts
1. Are they really check my product?
2. How An unknow person can decide my business?
3. They send balance amount to remaining customers but i lose 3 products what about that?
4. Why they send my balance amount to customers without my permission?
5. Is this refunds are real?
6. If they problem with our genuineness then why don't they ask us for proofs for our genuineness.

Yesterday i contact one of my customer through mail and ask him about refund he said he didn't get any money
Then where is my money 馃
And also ask him about product he said it was good.

Gumroad take all our money with silly and nasty reasons. Once they get the money they don't respond for our mails.
