Guru To Go

I have tried many Indian restaurants in Copenhagen, and Guru is for me one of the best. I have tried both the restaurant and the to-go. The restaurant has a charming design, and I have only met competent service. The to-go is also great and delicious.

We ordered a menu. It took a long time for the food to come. As we had ordered menu, it came one at a time and it was cold and too little. We left the restuarant still hungry and paid too much for too little cold food.Rogan josh didnot taste like rogan josh.

The absolute best thing about this place is the staff – they come at perfect times, were super efficient and incredibly friendly.
However, the food was a let-down, especially given how busy the restaurant is, which made us think we'd be getting something special.
I have lived in India for 14 years and hoped that Guru would provide a more authentic experience than some of the places I've tried in Denmark so far, however the GURU Veg dish even tasted like it had Green Thai spices in it, not Indian at all.

I have had as good food in other places which was half of the price.
There were 3 of us, we had a starter, and a main, with some bread and rice for the table, and 1 beer each, and the bill came to over 1,150 kroner.

Overall, it was a disappointment: overpriced food that didn't taste of anything special. I much rather pay much cheaper for food that tastes the same, and get it at home.

Best Indian takeaway restaurant in Copenhagen.
Location is perfect – just in the city center and the decor is modern and minimalistic. Easy pickup and delivery is always on time!
I am a vegan/vegetarian and would definitely recommend the aubergine and the black lentil dish – just amazing!
Butter chicken and lamb is also very popular with my friends!
Remember to get your mango lassi 😉 highly recommended.

We need to leave the restaurant without even ordering yet as the waiter is so arrogant with us. First he wants us to sit in the dark table beside the kitchen even I explained to him that I made a reservation personally the day before and the girl in charged agreed to give me a specific table near the window, When I shown the table that the waitress shown me the day before, the waiter told us the we can sit there but for limited time only (up to 19.30) as it was reserved to other already. I asked if we can move to the table beside us but it麓s for 4 persons and we are only 2 (hello, that麓s the least you can do for mixing up the reservation) but he just pressed us to just sit to the limited hrs. (1,5 hrs. to be exact) Well, it Friday and my husband invited me for a promising lovely Friday evening and we do not have to have a bad start, aside that there are lot of restaurants in Copenhagen that willing to serve to the best of their ability.
To be fair, few weeks before that incident, I have been there together with 3 friends and we麓ve have been served with a nice waiter, the reason I came back.
But after that experience last Friday, NO THANK YOU.

Horribly fatty food, bad waitressing and TOO expensive…. I was expercting bit more from the indian restaurant in the heart of Copenhagen.. I love indian food, but this one was disappointing..

All I can say is that we keep on going back for more. Food cooked to perfection, decoration is modern & outstanding, all of which add to a unique experience. Wonderful service to make you feel special each time. Highly recommended.
