Groombridge Gardens/Forest and Village can be reached by the Spa Valley Railway and it's a full day out. The Enchanted Forest has a host of rope swings, walkways and wooden structures for the younger explorers, but there are parts of the woods which adults can enjoy. There is a cafe, put if you are staying all day then take a picnic, there are plenty of places to set camp away from the main gardens, which can be busy as there are some attractions for the very young. I always think it's a shame the house isn't open to the public, but the village is, and the pub next to the church serves very nice food and friendly enough. The only let down was the vineyard, it seems to have been left to it's own devices for the past year and looking in a bad way.
