During the signing of the contract Grenke (Czech Republic) were amazing, with an English-speaking representative available on command. All communication via email. It was when I was unable to meet one scheduled repayment when the true face of this company began to show. Suddenly email was not a possible medium for communication, and I was at once instructed by written letter that my debt would now be taken to court. I wrote and wrote to them, but received absolutely no response. The next response I received was from their bogey lawyer in Plzen, who informed me of an exekuce.
I am in the process of fighting my case through the Better Business Ombudsman, as they clearly took advantage of my position as a foreigner, and I personally believe that Grenke offered the -very easy to obtain – debt as a growing trend in issuing credit unresponsibly and then having their lawyer partners ready in wait to collect on a much higher post-exekuce fee. I believe this is financial fraud.
