After having her for a few weeks we fell in love and when she finally underwent treatment it was emotionally trying on our family as we watched the poor animal suffer the pains of the poison that was killing the worms.
Shortly after the initial treatment we were contacted by GSGRR that she needed another round of treatment. We were caught off guard but we agreed to handle the treatments so reluctantly we took her back in for another round of injections. TURNS OUT SHE DIDN'T NEED ANOTHER TREATMENT – so now this organization has put the dog through another round of he'll for no reason. We were offered no explanation for their negligence no matter how many times we asked. Once again we took care of her through the tough process that she was enduring, we loved her so we were both sad and extremely mad about her situation.
Fast forward to September 17th. After months of love and care we were told they revived multiple phone calls that the dog was out and about in the neighborhood and they were going to repossess our dog. These "multiple calls" don't exist. There was only one time she got out and I will follow with a description of the event.
While preparing for Hurricane Florence I left the door open on accident and she did get out – a simple human mistake. As I was about to go get her (I knew exactly where she went because she likes to play with a particular set of dogs right next door) my neighbor was already walking her back home. There was no negligence involved in this situation and the dog was never in any danger. Everyone on our culdisac has dogs and we all let them play together on a regular basis.
Today September the 18th they came and against the crying of my son and daughter removed her from our home. We have a contract and it will be attached in the following section. When we first took her in as a foster we gave them a check for $200 that as stated in the contract WILL ONLY BE DEPOSITED AFTER THE ADOPTION WAS COMPETED and after the deposit we would be given the remainder of get records and she would be ours to adopt officially. The check was deposited in July and while we waited patiently we never received her documents. In the months we had her in our home we bought her the dog food recommended by our vet and while it was expensive we had no problem because we loved her. Although we can't put a price tag on it we gave her all the love we could muster and this day has destroyed my children, they are distraught with sadness.
I am positive this isn't the first time they have done this. In essence they got a sick dog for free – charged us $200 for the ability to buy her hundreds of dollars worth of food/medicine/toys and other necessities – allowed us to fall in love and provide emotional support through her treatments – only to take her after SHE'S HEALTHY to SELL HER AGAIN for more money than they initially charged us. Sounds like a pretty good deal for them doesn't it?
Pay close attention to the second paragraph of the contract.n May 8th of this year we were overjoyed to accept an elderly Golden Retriever into our home on a "foster to adopt" basis. When we received our dog she was sick with heartworms and we were to provide food, shelter and love/emotional support while she underwent treatment to rid her body of the worms.
