Gorey Details

I wanted to order a Christmas present for my boyfriend and found a small plague doctor statue that I thought would be perfect I paid $65 for and and when I go it it was cheap flimsy plastic.

Horrible horrible horrible costumer service. They are very rude bland and don't answer any of your questions. They also "don't issue refunds" and "don't take back purchases" they also don't tell you what their products are made from.

Worst site ever. Cheap $#*! for ridiculous prices.

I looked all over the net for a particular curtain from Sin in Linen and Gorey Details was the last place to have it in stock. Best of all, it was only $15, instead of $30-$39 everywhere else but shipping was full price instead of included.

I placed the order with PayPal which meant waiting a few days until PayPal sent receipt that the check account payment had cleared. Waited, waited, waited for my delivery.

After over 10 business days I forwarded my PayPal receipt to the company (Amongst the bombardment of PayPal emails, I didn't get a receipt from Gorey Details and unfortunately I didn't notice until I needed it!).

Their reply was that there had been a miscommunication with the supplier….I was so bewildered here because I had emailed Sin in Linen directly about two months earlier and they were out of stock. I was worried they were going to tell me they didn't have it…I had tried to buy this shower curtain from Design Public and that happened!

When the package arrived it was not a shower curtain but a curtain panel…I got straight back on the site and the shower curtain options had been taken down (in all colors) and my order was listed as for a curtain panel.

I know I did not order the wrong item – the pictures on their website for shower curtains looked different (like a hanging up shower curtain) from the same print in other products, eg a picture of the print or a bed made up in linens in that print etc. So either their images and descriptions do not match correctly in their inventory system…or they realized they were Sin In Linen was out of this item AFTER I placed the order but needed to keep my money somehow.

I emailed the company asking if they hold the items in stock or get them from the supplier after an order is placed. Never got a response.

I wish I'd noticed as soon as I placed the order that they didn't send me a receipt. I actually have a folder in my hotmail account with 'receipts' and for years as soon as I get a receipt, I move it straight to that folder. If I had, I would have been able to take this experience to the appropriate business bureau.

There really isn't anything I can do beyond never using this business again and recommending that others do not either! Beware Gorey Details!!!

HORRIBLE, AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I wanted a specific shirt and located it at goreydetails.net. When I placed the order, the item listed with both a childs size and the adult size. I tried to use their self-service form to let the seller know that I wanted the adult size. However, I could not use that form and still use PayPal. So I placed the order and immediately e-mailed the seller about the issue, saying I only wanted the adult size. The seller immediately replied that I had ordered a child size. When I responded that I wanted to cancel my order if the adult size was not available, then all communication stopped. Since it was on the weekend, I waited until the next business day to send another e-mail. Still no response. I filed a complaint with PayPal; still no response. Waited a day and requested a reply through PayPal again; still no response. 7 days after my first e-mail, they finally replied (just before midnight) that my order was cancelled and a refund was being made. It is odd that they finally responded just hours before my complaint with PayPal could be escalated. I would not EVER use this website again. There is no excuse for not responding to my post-cancellation e-mails for 7 days. NONE!
