I received an email from what appeared to be my school about an application for mystery shoppers. I filled it out bc I figured it could be something I'd do on my free time and shortly after got a text saying I was approved and would receive an envelope with instructions in the mail. 3 weeks passed and I got an envelope with 3 money orders worth $2,985.00 and a blue sheet of paper with instructions and a "confidential" survey on the back. The instructions indicated for me to deposit the "checks" into my personal bank account and use the money to purchase 2 apple gift card worth $1,300.00 each. My salary would be $330.00 from these money orders and the remaining $55.00 would be used got my next task. At the bottom of the sheet it instructed me to deposit the checks even if there wasn't an apple store within my city and that I'd be reassigned another store. I searched up mystery shopper scams and found a post exactly describing my situation to the T except it was off by $5 for the salary & left over. I'm not exactly sure if it is a fraud but I personally wouldn't trust it. I never spoke to anyone or got called for any interviews and the letter was very sketchy.
