I worked with this company in 2005-2006. As with other online reviews, this company, particularly at the hand of its owner David Lason, behaves unscrupulously. Over-promises and under-delivers with intent to demand additional money. Even forges your signature to fake a contract in order to indicate that you are breaking the terms, again, to extract money, deny their responsibility, and simply ignore you otherwise once they have your money. They were so incompetent that they could not even produce satisfactory html pages (from superior sample pages provided to them), let alone perform any background coding or database work. They effectively offer no product. Their online show case is a bunch of hollow front ends. Their employees complain of not being paid as do the workers they farm out to overseas, which incidentally, was also a contract violation. The phrase, class action suit, seems to be a suitable thought given the significant number of repeats of this behavior.

What a horrible company – especially the owner, David Lason.

I've been involved with interactive software for 15 years. We had extra work and farmed it out to this company. They stalled and stalled and when I really got on their case about it, they said they gave it to a project manager and everything would be fine. Really, after a week she was nowhere to be found – they said she was out on maternity leave!

They are just scam artists. You'd be better to role the dice with someone in India or Romania.

Apparently they're working under the name customsoftwarelab.com and I was able to avoid this company thanks to you guys after searching the owner's name on Google. Thank YOU.

Not a scam… but a ripoff, absolutely. Go to Elance yourself instead of paying Mr. Lason outrageous fees to do that for you.

Ingenux will take weeks or months to create a contract that you won't understand, won't contain the stuff you actually need on your site, and then will hold you to that like it's the Bible.

If you're an Elancer, don't bother working with them. Looks like you'll be lucky if you get paid. Apparently, Ingenux can't handle their financial matters any better than their business. See below.

We contracted Ingenux to build our digital media delivery system that included an ecommerce store and a desktop program to play and burn that media. In the beginning stages of the project we had a loose idea of what we were trying to accomplish but Ingenux took charge and played a vital role in the concept and architectural stages. As the project progressed it was occasionally necessary to change the scope of the project and their flexibility and vast knowledge of coding allowed for us to smoothly change gears. Their internal management of our project allowed us to step back and focus on business knowing our project was in good hands. Ingenux took our rough ideas and fashioned a superb interface and user experience. Not only do they take great pride in their work but they truly care about the customers complete satisfaction. This is the first time I've ever felt we received more than what we paid for and I look forward to our next project with Ingenux.

I have worked with Ingenux for several years now and I have nothing but good words to say about their team and quality of work. Other companies keep you in the dark, but Ingenux was always prompt in answering my questions and kept me up to date through the entire website development process. I loved their creativity and knowledge in what truly makes a successful website today. I have no reservations recommending the Ingenux team.

This company is deceptive and misrepresents about every aspect of their business.

They are just a middle man for sites like ELance.

The owner is unethical in his financial and business dealings and lacks the leadership skills to run such a company.

They have already been sued on multiple occasions.

I am a former employee of Ingenux inc. and there seem to be many views regarding the business practices within. I can from firsthand experience positively clarify these practices and comment on the over all quality of work and experience one might have upon beginning a working relationship with Ingenux.

First off, I don't believe it is accurate to assert that Ingenux is a fraudulent company. They do provide the services as advertised on their website, although they do grossly misrepresent some information, the misrepresentations are limited to internal functions and information. That being said I do believe the ethics as they relate to company/client and company/employee relationships are very poor, this is a reflection on the owner.

I observed on many occasions, what i interpreted as "bullying" by management to clients regarding contract/spec doc/change orders for their projects. On multiple occasions these issues were resolved by lawsuit or threat of lawsuit. The majority of the clients i worked with seemed generally displeased with the process, as it almost always included a development deadline push by up to 3 months or excessive additional financial charges. For these reasons I would not recommend hiring them for a project, because I believe the service they offer is unconscionable, and a better experience could be found elsewhere.

At my time of employment there were 6 employees: The owner, the Production Director, 3 developers, and the designer. They did in the past have a team of designers in India who they used for the vast majority of the development, but because of sub-standard work from overseas they began to do the majority of development in-house. Although, at the time of my departure they did still use off-shore development for some projects, and they do contract jobs out through Elance.com. Since my departure i understand that 2 developers have left. Additionally, the employee listed on their site as Marketing Manager does not work there and has not worked there for some time. His presence is a misrepresentation as they have removed from their website other employees who no longer work there.

The leadership regarding financial transactions is also very suspect. As an employee there were multiple occurrences of paychecks bouncing, but in defense they were paid through the owners personal account. However, upon my departure I was never paid my final amount because the owner claims that i was over paid previously, upon succumbing to the alleged over payments a final amount was agreed upon, but never delivered. Additionally i can confirm that management will not refund projects once payment is received, i observed occasions where financial disputes were addressed with a lawsuit or threat of lawsuit. I do not feel that Ingenux employs fair practices regarding financial transactions.

I will say that i was fairly compensated, but my experience with Ingenux left a bad taste in my mouth. I do not recommend them for web projects because their poor leadership, I believe a better experience could be found elsewhere.

Hi, I am programmer from India and I just want to say that Ingenux is a ripoff. He found us through ELance but in the end only wanted to pay for part of what he originally said he would pay. That is a bad man in our view.

Ingenux and the American Lung Association have been working together for years on many projects and the ALA has nothing but praise for the team at Ingenux. The staff at Ingenux was a pleasure to work with during all phases of the projects. Ingenux knew what questions to ask and when to ask them, resulting in projects meeting our requirements, timelines and budgets. When the need arises for future application development, Ingenux will be our first stop.

Its either that the first review is completely malicious or that the dude writing it is out to make a quick buck. Its so easy to malign a business online!

I have worked with Ingenux over a period of 5 years on several projects of varying complexity.

I can say that they have surpassed my expectations on almost all projects. I like the process most of all, they have it figured out where a multitude of other web designs are still stumbling.

Working with Brandy and the gang has not only been efficient but also fun and educating. Web companies often hide details to keep clients coming back but Brandy always ensures I know how to manage my web pages through the CMS.

I recommend them wholeheartedly to friends and family all the time!

I just read the review on Ingenux and it just looks false. Ingenux has worked with us for over 8 years with remarkable results. They are professional and surely honest. We have done 5 projects to date and all have went very well. Everything from project management to development was solid. I provided a testimonial awhile back for them located at http://www.ingenux.com/testimonials. If a company has worked with other agencies and resolved all matters, what else can they do?

It is clear the other person is just bitter about his mistakes and wants to take it out on someone else.

Good Luck Ingenux
