INDEED IS A TOTAL SCAM. Went through the process of creating an account, and browsed pages of jobs. Absolutely nothing had any relation to what I was looking for. So I tried to delete my account – there was NO WAY TO DELETE MY ACCOUNT. Spent an hour trying to find out how. There's 100 pages of an agreement I apparently signed that Indeed can share my information with every 3rd party imaginable. Eventually had to email them how to delete my account and info — Still have heard nothing back.

My first and only post, no explanation, no email. Just "disabled"! A very unfriendly forst contact.
Why would I want to post jobs if that is the Indeed approach? Indeed, stay away.

This site took all my information including photos of my driver's license and credit card number and still refused to share my job positing, disabling my account and claiming I didn't meet their standards. I am a small business owner/author trying to hire a part-time assistant for above minimum wage. No explanation why they wouldn't host my job posting. When I asked them to delete my information considering they served no purpose, they directed me multiple times to a blank page – but kept all my info. Do not use this service if you are an employer!

privately owned business owner trying to find candidates for the opening. Opened my business account and paid for 2 job postings. The postings stayed active for 5 days without issues, suddenly I received a message that my account was under review. I contacted the company and supposedly had the problem resolved. Waited for my post to become available again, only to receive a message that my account has been disabled. I've gone above and beyond to help resolve the issues and they still disabled my account and refuse to work with me. Shame shame shame on this company for not working with employers in this time of need!

I have been trying to use indeed for 6 months. I consistently get jobs that are the wrong profession. If you are a medical provider like an NP, PA, etc, they are not a great place to search. I get alerted all day to jobs that are medical in some way but never the right profession. I have updated my profile 3 times and the alerts never change. Go to donate or a mid level provider site. Do not use indeed.

We've been using Indeed for a good almost 2 years now, the website itself has been OK. We have also been running paid ads whenever we need extra reach on this platform.

Just a few days ago we ran a job posting and for absolutely no reason (i.e. no out of the ordinary job postings, everything as usual) our account has been disabled. We sent them an e-mail and customer service through a feedback form, but have not received any feedback.

This is the first hiring platform that we have encountered which disabled our account with no explanation and as a result all the information of our potential candidates are stuck on the platform, with no way to retrieve them. We view Indeed as one of our sites for hiring, but in light of the way they cavalierly rescinded access to our account with no explanation, this view will not be the same anymore, and we may need to consider further course of action if they do not respond, as our past 2 years' data is held on the platform with no access.

Edit: Account re-enabled recently, review changed to 3 stars from 1 star. The reason given by them was to verify the authenticity of our account – still a very poor way to do so without giving prior notice, especially to clients who have been using their platform for a long time.

My account & job postings have been disabled and I have no idea why. I've been trying to contact Indeed but they are absolutely unreachable. I don't believe I violated any guidelines but if I did, I don't understand why I couldn't be told that and asked to fix it rather than getting an email saying my account is disabled and the case is closed so I can't appeal. This isn't very great service.

We are not new to Indeed. Last year we managed to find one employee via Indeed. This year we need to find receptionists again. We more or less using the same ads as last year. We had quite a few applicants and started to narrow down the candidates and interviewing candidates. Then all of a sudden my account was disabled. I wrote to them and got this rather generic reply :

Your account has been disabled because its relationship with your company could not be verified. For the security of our employers and job seekers, Indeed must verify accounts and jobs.
To verify your account, we would like for you to provide documentation relating to your company. Please provide us with a scan or image of one of the following items:
Electricity or Phone Bill with your business's name and address
ABN Registration Document
ASIC Business Registration

If they are so serious about proving the relationship or the ownership of the company, why don't then do that when the account was first being set up? Why all of a sudden just disabled the account of a perfectly legitimate company?

Through the help of my accountant I have given them 7 official document plus more to prove all the above. Still they would not care ! They then said in a very generic way : It appears that your request may require specialised attention and our Client Success team can better assist you. Please view our Help Centre for further assistance with this issue.

So I tried hard to get in touch with the whatever Client Success team. Went round and round to no avail. Called their number but no one ever picked up the phone. Live chat? Where is the link for live chat?

Such a pathetic service.

Get absolutely no support at all from this website and wasted so much of our time and resources for nothing.

" This is typically done when not enough information is provided when an Indeed account is set up "
There is NO extra information requested when we sign up. We had provided you everything you had asked for during sign up.

"We do see an appeal was submitted but the documentation was not provided. "
We had provided everything in great details and at our expense (our accountant's services is not free). We received a reply from you guys within a couple of hours or less. Every time whoever person that replied just disregard all the documents submitted.

You know if you want any extra information or proof of whatever, you could have just request that. We would be more than happy to provide you promptly. Instead, you guys just frozen the account of a legitimate business with zero warning. It is very much a shoot first and ask question later mentality.

Our company, Avalon Capital, was using Indeed to recruit a bookkeeper. After paying nearly $200 to sponsor the add and spending countless hours reviewing resumes, I received a notice this morning that the account has been disabled. No explanation given. Now I cannot see any of the candidates that I have been corresponding with. All the work I put into screening candidates and selecting my top choices has been lost.

I used their customer contact to dispute the decision and received a notice within 2 minutes that my appeal had been rejected. Clearly they didn't review anything and this was just an automated decision.

I am very frustrated at the time and money wasted. We are a legit company that needs to hire a bookkeeper. The only fraud going on here is at Indeed.

As the owner of a multi award winning care provision I am frustrated at indeeds lack of impartiality when it comes to publishing libellous and defamatory content. Following multiple attempts to seek a resolution directly with indeed I will be seeking legal action to protect the interests and reputation of my business. I urge other quality business owners to do the same.

My account was disabled. I've posted (and hired) for the past 3 years past from this account. I appealed the decision, but I still get a generic "we have reviewed your account and have found it to be unsuitable for Indeed" – but no explanation why! I sent a copy of my utility bill to verify my business is legitimate, and still they won't reinstate my account. They simply state to refer to their Terms of Service and Job Posting Guidelines – which does not help me understand what it is I've done "wrong". The last email they sent stated this was a "final decision" and "No additional details regarding this decision will be provided." Say what???

I have had to create 2 accounts because my first was disabled and then my second moments after I created a job posting. No one to contact. No explanation. I am need of candidates but I am not able to get the help I need. I am not doing anything to break any rules. I am willing to pay and do whatever is needed to fill my job roles but I cant seem to keep an account open for a day.

I have made mistakes with my account twice now and the support person at Indeed was amazing and fixed it with quickly while being personable and understanding. The tool itself is great and I have been able to find qualified candidates.

We posted an ad for a confidential job (as we are looking to replace an employee that was severely underperforming). After paying for 3-4 days of Sponsored Ad with a standard job posting (descriptions & responsibility), Indeed terminated our account for no reason. This action apparently cannot be appealed. They will be dealing with our credit card chargeback for fraudulent services. See below for their generic email response:

Thank you for contacting Indeed. We have reviewed your account and have found it to be unsuitable for Indeed.

For your reference, we have linked Indeed's Terms of Service and Job Posting Guidelines.

Please note that your account currently is not accruing costs and this is a final decision. No further action is required on your part. No additional details regarding this decision will be provided. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you,

Stay away! Account disabled and given a generic email stating that the job posted "was deemed inconsistent with Indeed's quality standards". Any attempt to clarify just results in emails referring to their Terms of Service and Job Posting Guidelines. Have read both several times and nothing about our ad goes against either. Our company is real (in business for over 20 years), the job we are looking to fill a position for is real and nothing about our post is misleading or offensive. Attempted to call our "Indeed Consultant" and just get transferred to a voicemail inbox with no name associated with it. Stay away, use another service. Will probably get a response to this about how they have either reached out through private message or restate the "Terms of Service" and "Job Posting Guidelines", which we meet.

**** EDIT ***** Indeed reached out and reviewed the account again. Able to post jobs now and a credit has been given. Indeed needs to change their process and actually read emails before answering instead of the generic or automated responses. Will increase the stars a bit, reflecting their response, but won't be as high as it could of been due to the experience and aggravation of this whole process.

I posted a job ad for my company and even sponsored it. Talked with a few really good candidates but what do you know, they disabled my account and won't tell me the reason. Now I can't even access the previous messages with those candidates.

I would verify the account with all the required documents but they don't even give me a chance.

EDIT: They have contacted me and I sent them all required business documents. Still they won't re-enable my account and it seems like they don't want any business with smaller companies.

THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH INDEED, IS THAT YOU DO NOT REQUIRE CANDIDATES / APPLICANTS / RESUME' SUBMITTER'S TO FOLLOW-UP AND FOLLOW THROUGH WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE HIRING PROCESS.

I paid for an add on indeed. They suspended my account while I was interviewing candidates. I have been unable to get in touch with anyone about it. All I get is an automatic response saying they can cancel accounts for any reason without explanation. Indeed was full of scams when I was a job seeker, now they are a scam when I'm trying to hire people. My advice is do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

We are a long-standing customer of Indeed who have paid for sponsored ads for many years. We are a care home and, like many others are suffering financially during the current crisis. We decided on this occasion not to sponsor an advert for a desperately needed nurse. Indeed now have a policy of mandatory sponsorship for particular job titles. Unbelievably, a registered nurse is one of those titles. This company are cashing in on a pandemic and leaving employers like us no choice but to spend money that we need to reserve for taking care of our vulnerable residents. Indeed are disgusting. I hope the press are informed.

I set up an account to do recruiting for a company I am employed with. I posted 2 ads and hired 3 people from the site. Then I get an email stating our account has been disabled. We sent several documents and after we get a response that says our account is disabled and its a final decision .
I don't know how to speak to anyone that makes these decisions but there are several people using this site and posting work from home scams and they still have an account. We are a legitimate window cleaning company and are hiring for window washers and cannot post ads. It makes no sense.
I am terribly confused as to why this happens to good companies.

Like so many others, we have been using Indeed for several months when out of the blue we had an emailed message saying that we are banned form using them as our ads contravened some unknown guidelines. No explanation offered.

For some time, we have used Indeed exclusively and successfully to staff our garden design and maintenance business and have paid for ads.

I have no idea what sort of business model they think they have but after this, I consider them worse than Ebay on a bad day. Very unprofessional and a low grade business partner that we do not need.

Avoid at all costs.

I started to set up an account and post a job for my lawn care service. when I found out how much their free job posting would cost (about $13 per click) I said no thanks. Since then there have been phone calls and the emails won't stop. I have told them on the phone 3 times I do not want their service, and sent that reply to at least 6 emails and they just won't stop. Once they get your email or phone no. you are at their mercy- and they have none.
