Its a big scam and they use your car to earn money and will not give you any promised money. They owe me 250$ as they rented out my car for 11 days. But when it comes to pay out my money they stated that they are not in position to pay any money to any of its client. So don't give them your car at all.

I inadvertently informed the staff at Tullamarine (Melbourne) depot that I'd be away for two weeks without internet while dropping my car there. They took the advantage and emailed me saying my front tyres had leakage so can't be rented out and charged me for parking there ($25 per day). Didn't pay me anything at all even though the mileage on the car said it was used. But the staff refused to accept that. They are complete scammers. Please stay away.

Highly shocked on the way Carhood is acting and denying to reimburse my taxi fare from Airport to their location this time as they did not provide me shuttle service. Even in past I used their service and they advised to use taxi after hours and they will reimburse the cost.
Even after all the inconvenience you face managing your travel from Airport to their location and then pickup your car after hours with nobody on the premises in an aloof location which is very scary at night they are acting like this.

Guys please be aware as Carhood is turning out to be a scam now you will loose more money leaving your car with them than going to and fro from airport in a taxi. They need to be reported to the consumer affairs.

UPDATE: carhood didnt provide any of the information or proof of their illegal charges and seems they have stolen from my account and looks like many other peoples. BEWARE do not sign any authority to charge your account with this company. Look all over the internet and the scale and scope of their rip-offs. Looks like it will go to tribunal to force them to repay the stolen money if not a class action is forming…

Avoid! After booking days in advance, Carhood cancelled my booking whilst I was in the air, without any explanation or apology, but I assume because they secured a booking at a higher rate. I had no choice but to make alternative arrangements after calling them when I landed, paying 50% more than my 'confirmed' Carhood booking.

Before I had even stepped out of the car on returning it, they said I had caused damage without even checking any records. It felt like a complete set up.
When I tried to go through it with them they acted as I if I was the crook when every step has shown their behaviour to lack transparency, honesty, ethical let alone best practice.
They had already tried to prevent a cancellation contrary to the clearly written statement of free cancellation on the booking confirmation.
They make it impossible to deal on the phone and only have web chat and try to deny everything you have said and done.
They will not give you the operation managers name or let you speak to them.
Repeatedly refused to give me my copies of the contract, a copy of pre-rental photos and existing damage diagram. Because they are private cars there was already a considerable amount of small to moderate scratches and damage.
Asked from day 1 every week for weeks in writing. These were never answered.
Deducted thousands of dollars out of my account.
I was fully covered insurance wise including a no excess addition that I paid extra for. So none of this should be happening even if someone else did scratch it on my rental.
Did not notify me of any claim, damage, process, or respond to any written or verbal requests at all.
This company is expert at dishonest dealings

I have used Carhood 5-6 times but when my car was damaged ($4,500 worth of damage) they have delayed any repair or payment since April (4 months) and I am still waiting – 33 emails later. Anyone using Carhood needs to be aware of this.

I gave my car with carhood and it was rented out for 5 weeks, it was October 2018 and they owe me 250$. I still didn't get paid, it is almost 10 months. Tried a lot of times to get in touch with the accounts department, there's no response back from them. They really not gonna pay us back.
I have decided to Lodge a case against them in VCAT Ombudsman. It's gonna cost 82$ and if court finds the fault at carhood they will pay us back with the court fee and our compensation.
I Request everyone who didn't get their pay back from carhood should Lodge a complaint.

Left my car for two months with Carhood, we got fines, parking tickets that we had to pay ourselves. The car was serviced just before letting it to Carhood and "magically" broke down. They don't cover towing… It ended up costing us more than $3000 and didn't make a cent.
Avoid this company like the plague!!

Service was 5/5 pretty good but the car had a couple of annoying issues that brought the experience down (the glovebox didn't shut properly so rattled, and the windscreen wiper water was broken and so driving in Melbourne in misty weather was no joy)

Carhood upfront seemed a little too good to be true. The price point was awesome. The service was great – staff were friendly and helpful. There was no real barriers to the transaction and I love the concept of taking car sharing to rentals.
Only reason it's not 5 stars is the distance to the Melbourne airport from the car park, it would be ace to have that communicated (only 10-15 minutes, though I was on a delayed flight, and felt a bit in the dark about the time frame for arrival).
Would and have recommended this service to a friend in Brisbane already. Will use again.

Easy, straightforward process with prices so cheap you won't use a traditional rental company again! Free pick up and drop off to the airport so transfers aren't a problem. Staff are also very friendly.

Rented out my car for 6 weeks during Xmas and January 2019. 2 months after picking up my car and I鈥檓 STILL waiting on payment, not to mention a response, even the slightest acknowledgment that my emails are being read. Called the customer service line, spoke to some guy in the Philippines perhaps called Jules. Completely unsympathetic and kept reciting the process. The complaints process is laughable – I was advised to take my complaint to the
[email protected] email address. The SAME email address that I鈥檝e had no success with. He was no help whatsoever. I asked whether late payment or payment being withheld was a common thing – he said not really. Judging by the other reviews on here I鈥檇 say it鈥檚 all this business does! Furthermore my car came back with a crack to the windshield. Still waiting to get this repaired!

This is not a trustworthy company, we left our car for them to rent and picked it up in August and still have not been paid. We have chased them up every month and still no payment. They are very good at sweet talking and very apologetic but they are very poor on keeping their promises. Our advice to anyone considering them is to STAY AWAY. We would never use them again and have told all our friends and associates about our experience.

This is not a serious business, they have no respect for customers. I've rented my car with them in April 2018, and they still haven't paid the income I earned, such a scam! Customer service keeps making up excuses but hasn't solved the problem after 8 months. This is completely unacceptable, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
